The Royal Oak is situated in Wrecclesham, a small village on the outskirts of Farnham Town in Surrey. The Sunday roast was quite average, lacked seasoning and the beef was very fatty. Service was good and staff very friendly. Would give them another chance but wasn’t blown away.

I asked my Mum where she wanted to go for Mother's Day and she said the Royal Oak going on previous experiences. The food was very good and it arrived very quickly. When we arrived there was no sign of our booking which could have been embarrassing for me. Fortunately I had the confirmation email and they had a table available so it was ok. Everyone was very polite and friendly.

The food and service was excellent. Unfortunately there were some customers making a quite a lot of noise and allowing their kids to run about, although the staff did their best to curtail this. This was our third visit and we'll definitely be returning.

Visited for Sunday Roast at 3.30pm. The roast beef was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were al dente and very tasty. The pub was not busy at this time which was a shame as the food, service and ambience was most enjoyable.

We needed a quick lunch in the area so we chose The Royal Oak. There was a lovely fire to welcome us and our dog, who was immediately given water. We ordered chicken and bacon sandwiches in a panini. All was nicely cooked and presented, even if the chicken was a little tasteless but it was keenly priced. The service was faultless and the pub looked clean and inviting.

We have visited the Royal Oak on many occasions and it has usually been busy every day over the weekend. On our most recent visit on Saturday evening, we were disappointed to note that customers numbered just four. They were just drinking. We were the only two people ordering food. As the atmosphere was very subdued, the music piped through the speakers was very loud and not easy listening. However, the quality of the food and service was still very good. Such a shame that our local pubs appear not to be fully supported. This may have been due to a possible problem with the Open Table website which would not allow me to book a table after 6.45 pm even though we witnessed that the pub was empty of bookings between 6.30 to 9.00pm.

We were disappointed after reading the reviews. We had roast beef. We did not think it came from a freshly cooked joint. In fact I would not have been surprised if the whole meal was pre cooked then microwaved. The roast potatoes were floury in texture so think they may have been frozen. The service offered by the staff was good. But meal was very much below par of what I would expect from a freshly cooked roast.

Lovely pub, food fresh and delicious, staff attentive and good value for money. The only slight issue was that they seated all the diners in a small area of the pub so it felt we were crammed in, when the rest of the tables were empty.

The quality of the food was excellent. The bar and restaurant was very busy for Sunday Lunch hence the service was slower than usual. With the Open Table pre booking App, the establishment should be able to monitor numbers and provide appropriate service personnel.

We went for my daughters birthday with our parents (6 of us in total) we all agreed the food was first class! The roast dinners were delicious. Service was outstanding and the staff went above and beyond you make my daughters birthday special, I cannot thank them enough. I would highly recommend this lovely little pub and we will definitely be back again soon

Traditional very old pub with log fire and twinkly lights. Superb ambiance. Really good food, great value, menu just different enough to be interesting. Staff always very welcoming. A couple of ‘different’ beers on hand pump. I have never been disappointed here.

Sunday roast.the potatoes were rock hard,cauliflower cheese and red cabbage was very good although portions were small.Had Beef and pork both meat nice but the smallest portion ever.A child would be still hungry.Got home and cooked a Gammon joint

We had an excellent meal here for my father in laws birthday. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, we booked a table inside but switched to outside without any problems. They have a lovely garden and children’s play area too. Would highly recommend.
