Nice pub and ambience. Lovely service.
Food not exactly inspirational but not bad
Having been twice before myself, we then decided to have a wider family meal there. Once again it was excellent and the first time visitors also commented on the high standard of food. All the meals, from the Sunday roasts of beef and/or gammon, the steak, and my own favourite the scampi were all done exactly to each individual's specific order and to a very high standard.
The staff are always very friendly, welcoming and attentive, in just the right way.
The pub is maintained in its traditional form with the exposed beams, etc, and with the open fire it all makes for a very enjoyable all round experience.
Always good pub food, lovely old pub with great atmosphere, generous portions and good value too
Good portions of well presented meals enjoyed by all seven of the party.
Furnishings and decor looked in need of attention but we went to share a family meal which was a good experience.
Extensive menu to suit all tastes. Best sticky toffee pudding ever and good service.
Normally the Sunday roast is top notch but have to admit to walking away feeling somewhat disappointed.
Overcooked potatoes and no real apology when pointed out to the staff and the meat portion was smaller than previous experiences there
So on the whole was ok but nothing to write home about
If that friend knows that good pubs are busy and noisier on Suday lunchtime....yes, no problem. We asked for a table on the side...that wish was fullfilled. The food was good, the portions big so that even the male members of our party were more than contented.
The only problem could be finding a parking space...we were lucky, our son parked in a nearby street.
That actually speaks for the pub...it is popular!
Good food & service. It was a mid way point to meet friends. Booked because of good reviews on Trip Advisor. It was midweek & unfortunately very quiet. Would go again.
Great as always, we've already planned our next visit.
Our server was super friendly and fun, we had the pub basically to ourselves on a Monday night and the food was absolutely scrumptious!!
Saturday evening meal. Very good pub food - starters main and dessert. Landlord is great. It’s open bar so don’t expect quiet romantic setting. A real pub with real “regulars” as well as a great food - you may like or hate that. Yes I would go back.
Fantastic Sunday lunch took the grand children lovely garden to play in will return for sure
A lovely friendly pub with excellent food. The food is cooked fresh to order and is really tasty. I had pork loin which was delicious. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
This about the 5th or 6th time me and my wife have been to this lovely old proper pub ...its just up the road from us and we absolutely love it food and staff are amazing.... keep up the good work guys..amazing

Our 1st time and will definitely be back, the food was outstanding
Had a very pleasent experience at the Royal Oak. Varied Menu. Had a chicken sunday roast which a very ample size serving . Whilst eating staff checked on us several times that all was ok. and invited us to join in the sunday night quiz. Which was great fun. Thanks to all at Royal Oak.
Great food. Nice little pub, great garden for the nice weather
We went for a Sunday roast after having some really nice food there a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the roast dinner wasn't great. The Yorkshire pudding was burnt and the chicken was dry. We will still return to eat but not for a roast.
Excellent food, above average of any pub or restaurant in the local area in my experience. Steaks were particularly good. Great service in pleasant surroundings. Highly recommended.
The RoyalOak is one of the best pubs in Farnham area and my particular favourite. I have been many times, the food is excellent and you can have small portions of some meals. Always a good atmosphere and a quiz every Sunday. They take care over people with allergies. Good value too.
Steak Night Wednesday truly a scrumptious experience everyone should try
Wonderful visit. Charming pub, perfect for a spot of dinner with our two young children. A friendly, local pub with great service and happy staff! A little gem.
Stopped here for lunch, food and service were excellent.
The Royal Oak always has a relaxed atmosphere we eat there regularly good food, great house wine and friendly staff.
Lovely food as always and a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Booked a table through Open Table booking. It was for a family reunion. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. Great Sunday lunch, meat delicious & great Crumble. Staff very attentive. It was perfect for our needs. Thanks. 🌟
This was our first visit here. We were very impressed the food was excellent and the service was just right.
Swift service; tasty, pub fare; excellent value for money; quaint setting.
Sunday roast was excellent with both pork and beef as an option, if you can't decide on just one. Arrived quickly and hot, home cooked, in season vegetables, and the deserts were good to.
Good food, excellent value! we will definitely be visiting again soon.
Mother’s Day family dinner, outstanding service from very helpful staff, very good food, will definitely visit again.
Superb staff service, the food is very well priced and is made with exceptional quality (the taste is not processed in the slightest).
And it's dog friendly - what more can be said than that.
Took my wife to the Royal Oak on Wednesday the 6th of March for a treat and it's absolutely lovely. can't believe we haven't been there before. will definitely be going back in fact we're going back on Sunday the 10th for Sunday lunch look forward to seeing you .....what a lovely little pub just how pubs used to be .
The food once again was excellent and the service very attentive. The beer was also good so we will come again.
Delicious food, friendly staff lovely table by the fire. All good.
A pleasant traditional pub with a fireplace and friendly staff. On the day I went it was quite busy with most of the tables reserved. My starter was a scotch egg with a delicious sauce, watercress and crispy bacon. The egg was perfectly cooked. I found it quite difficult to select a main and eventually chose the chicken breast. The accompanying vegetables were well cooked. However the dish lacked punch. I realise that this is a traditional pub serving traditional food but that does not mean that depth of flavour and taste should be ignored. Maybe just one or two more experimental dishes would make it a pub I would readily return to on a regular basis.
Starter of a single scotch egg for £7 was a bit steep but all the food was great. We were also the only people dining so noise didnt matter. We will defintely be going back.
Very nice ‘ sunday ‘ lunch. Although had to wait a while for food it came freshly cooked and hot. Nice to have chicken breast in chicken burger than usual breaded chicken. Very good puddings. Baileys creme brulee small but deadly.
Service good but we were near the main door so got draught every time it opened.
good local pub/restaurant, If I say any more I may not get a booking on request
Fantastic steak, very tender and perfectly cooked.
Waitress, Sam, had just the right touch and was very friendly and efficient.
