Really good service lovely atmosphere would recommend
Our favourite place to go for all occasions. Perfect for a chilled after, cocktails with the girls or even football with the other half
Great service, the front of house lady was lovely and found us a quiet table (it can be quite noisy in the bar area). Good cocktails and nice pizza. The cocktail trees looked amazing but I think you need to pre book these. We will definitely be going here again.
Great service and atmosphere!
Lovely evening and felt really
Comfortable with everything in place due to Covid19.
Always a good evening at the Royal Oak. Staff are fab making it a lovely atmosphere. Feels very safe too with regards to COVID
Really lovely evening, amazing pizza! Delicious cocktails and lovely quiet environment. Will definitely be going back for another visit.
Best pizza ever! I had two small ones as I couldn’t decide and they were both amazing, lovely staff too
Excellent service and food with a relaxed, safe and lovely ambience. Had a wonderful evening.
There's better places to go for pizza. It felt more like a place for drinks rather than food.
Arrived late but they were very Accommodating thank you
Great service, lots of choice :) Really good atmosphere and great music too!
Really enjoyed our evening cocktails amazing pizzas were fantastic Social distancing measures that are in place are really good
Service was great as usual, they really do go above and beyond. Didn’t eat this time but the pizzas they make are phenomenal. The manager couldn’t be a nicer guy really. Give it a go and try their extensive gin collection it’s great.
We were seated in the Chophouse restaurant although the booking was for drinks only, which we didn't mind but the restaurant isnt as nice for a drink as the Royal Oak side of it. The music was too loud and felt more like a club, this meant everyone had to shout to speak and made the noise levels even worse. The bar staff were lovely and friendly but didn't tend to our table so we struggled to get a drink. We were also sat within a metre of the table next to us and social distancing went out of the window. For what is considered a nice place to go for a drink in Swindon, we were really let down by our experience and sadly won't be rushing back!
The Royal Oak used to be a prestigious pub to enjoy quality sea food and well prepared cocktails.
I am very sorry to say its now 'just another pub' and one my partner and I probably won't return to. The menu has been reduced to just Pizza, which in itself is fine.
The real problem we had was the lack of social distancing regulations being upheld within the premises. I was sat within arms length of a group of chaps all obviously from different households. The ambiance has been lost, football was playing on every television at volume, which is fine for a sports bar not a venue that markets itself as somewhere to unwind with friends enjoying cocktails and prosecco laughing and enjoying life.
If I had wanted the sorry atmosphere experienced there I would have gone to a Weatherspoons.
Very sorry this venue has slipped so far....
Food is great and staff are lovely, will definitely be coming back
Lovely pub, didn’t have any food but it looked delicious when being delivered to other tables. We had two for one cocktails which were great. Would have been a little pricy if it was full price (£8.95 each).
Very attentive staff, found us a table even though we were a little early.
Lovely experience, a safe environment.
Great table service, would defiantly return in these challenging times
Lovely staff great evening xxx
Cocktail the best made to perfection xx
What a joy!!
Great welcome, friendliness and service from Aisha
Really lovely staff and service - couldn’t be more helpful
A lovely evening. Delicious pizza and drinks.
We didn’t eat! Very well done except we were very close to the entrance and another customer, waiting to e seated, leaned on the bar and almost touched my daughter’s face. Fabulous service and atmosphere. Had a great time.
Had a lovely evening with the wife
Lovely drinks perfectly presented from a happy smiley host with a passion for her job
The barmaid Tasha was so welcoming and lovely! A good afternoon x
Tash was so welcoming, we just went for drinks but I've eaten there many times before.
Thanks for a super experience
Amazing and friendly service from the new waitress. The new social distancing rules made it feel very safe but didn’t ruin the atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
Lovely evening. Social distancing done very well. Staff very friendly and welcoming. New staff member on first night had great customer service. Pizzas were fresh and tasty.
Expecting a quiet sombre night but nope, great night out at The Gin bar after 4 months of lock down & well looked after.
Fantastic service as usual, friendly bar staff & kept us safe. Can't wait to get back to normal for our usual visits 😁
Fab night out, great food and lovely cocktails. Staff really helpful and only a slight delay on table service when it got busy. But that was not a problem and was acknowledged. Felt a safe but fun environment for our first venture out post lockdown 😀
Great cocktails and great ambiance, lovely service
Excellent place to be and friendly...just could do with a disposable menu at the table for drinks to see what’s there! Quality time though👍
Great food and service, menu not extensive but enough choices all at a reasonable price.
Food isn’t that special. Bland and not cooked that well. It’s a cool not a chef.
Staff almost had their boobs out! Please cover up in a restaurant and wear a smarter uniform.
We won’t be returning.
Ran out of most things on the menu, so very limited. They had 4 scallops left so had those for my main meal, but they burnt/over cooked them so couldn’t eat them.
I absolutely love the Royal Oak. It is my "go to" for a nice dinner in Swindon. The service is always Great, the food is wonderful and the restaurant is lovely.
I have always found the lighting in the restaurant a little harsh but that is just me being picky. I love this place and always recommend it to friends.
Great food and nice surroundings.
Would definitely recommend to others.
Booked for Valentine’s Day. We were treated well specials on drinks as well as a menu set especially for the occasion.
Food really good you must be a real seafood freak to visit here although there are a few other options if your not.
Planning to return for a third time . Staff polite helpful .
