The Royal Wootton Bassett
Very nice and different type of meal, advice from waitress to have only 2/3 dishes each was correct. and maybe a little less sauce in/on the dishes.
The service and ambiance was perfect we felt very safe
The food could have been hotter
But overall 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Helpful staff nothing too much trouble. Food piping hot.
Only our 2nd visit and not disappointed.
Lovely food, nice selection and very efficient staff
The taster dessert platter is to die for.
Looking forward to trying their tapas
The food was outstanding, and so were the staff! Will definitely be back again!
Great service and food totally recommend a visit. We have booked again to visit next month.
Absolutely fantastic, tasty food, well presented and with friendly service. Frequently asked us if we needed more drinks. Now one of my favourite restaurants! Would go there regularly now
Could not have been more pleased with our visit. We asked to add a seat to our booked table of 4, and it was not a problem whatsoever. We had three young children with us, and again, this appeared no problem at all. The attention from staff was lovely, drinks served quickly when needed. The food menu is exceptionally varied, and wonderfully cooked and presented. All in all, a fantastic lunch time meal, and can't wait to return soon, well done everyone concerned.
this was our second trip to the Royal Wootton Bassett, it did not disappoint the food service and ambience was just as good.
My first visit to The Royal and definitely won’t be my last, an excellent meal. The five work colleagues I dined with all thoroughly enjoyed their meals, we all had something different and all were delighted with their choices. The sticky toffee pudding was very popular! Only slight area for improvement, it would be great to have the choice of decaf coffee please. 😁
Lovely food, beautiful venue and fantastic staff!!
The food felt more like a world food all you can eat buffet for £8 rather than a tapas menu for £8 a dish.
I had such high hopes and the food was really disappointing.
The staff were amazing and accommodating but the food was bland and the sauces we watery.
I would advise my friends not to go while the standards are what they are.
Four of us really enjoyed an excellent meal, and will definitely book again
The only negative comment is that our table reservation was at 4.30pm and we were told the kitchen closed at 5pm giving us only 30 minutes to order additional tapas dishes.
Food was very good, had a nice Sunday roast. Service was friendly and prompt.
Will definitely return
My husband and I visited on Saturday evening. The service and food were amazing. We would highly recommend and we will be back
great food, great service, felt very safe and had a fantastic time
As always excellent service, and superb food, we had two tapas to share followed by the chateaubriand, cooked perfectly. Ashley and his team do everything they can to make you feel completely safe and as normal as possible whilst following all the rules.
Until we sat down and saw the menu we hadn't realised it was a tapas restaurant. We were all 'proper meals' sort of people.
However we worked out what we wanted and the food was delicious and beautifully presented.
The service was quick, the staff excellent, everything was clean and neat.
A dessert board was shared between two and we left feeling very content.
Really lovely setting and great service. My wife had 2 tapas dishes. Lamb and Pork, which was amazing. The sides were great too, especially the truffle and parmasan chips plus the Cheesy dumplings.
My £22 ribeye was quite poor. It just wasn't seasoned therefore it was very bland. It was also way too fatty, even for a ribeye.
We would go again, but I would stick to the tapas and avoid the steak
Very friendly & knowledgable staff. Food delicious.
We had an excellent meal for 2 at a reasonable price. The food was delicious and the service friendly, helpful and informative. Hygiene and social distancing were adhered to properly. It is a very popular place and we will definately be returning to try something else from the menu.
Fantastic food. The tapas were very tasty, some great flavours.
The pudding sampler was great value.
Staff were friendly and the service was efficient.
We will be back!
It was the best evening out in a long while. Never had tapas before and the dishes we selected were outstanding. The serving staff were friendly and helpful. There was just a 'buzz' not too loud but loud enough to add atmosphere. I can't wait to go again and in tend to work through the menu.
Lovely atmosphere, food was excellent husband had the Mongolian lamb, it just melted in your mouth. The puddings were yummy, would diffinately go back again.
We had some tapas as starters. The cauliflower tapas, curry & the scallops. All Very Good.
I had the 10oz fillet steak as a main, that you could cut with a butter knife (excellent).
Although the food was v.good, having to pay extra for the side dishes makes it expensive.
Very high quality of food and taste and texture was very good.
We will go back again.
This was our first visit and we’ll definitely be back again. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Highly recommend 👍🏻👏🏻
Top class sunday dinner Just the right background music ,would have liked a bit more veg
Food was all round excellent, plates needed warming as Sunday roast went cold very quick but an extra jug of gravy helped. Plenty of meat and potatoes but only three small dishes of veg between 5 was a stretch.
My second time eating there in a week and will book again soon. Reluctant to say its brilliant as its difficult enough to book a slot due to its popularity. But its really good
Lovely Tapas and Steaks. Quite pricy though. Would only go for a treat like we did for a Birthday. Service was good but the service staff kept coming to table to ask if we needed anything else and was everything ok. This happened not just once during meal .. we found this a bit intrusive . Over all a nice meal. Nice flavours
Relaxed atmosphere and service was good, the dishes are all very well prepared and tasty, I think they are just a little overpriced for the amount you get, if they were a quid cheaper on each dish I’d say for what you get that would be fair.
The meats were melt in the mouth, cooked to perfection. The sauces full of flavour but not overpowering.
Excellent food and friendly service from a family that is renowned in the Swindon and surrounding areas with running top notch restaurants. Look forward to going again.
Food was really good. We had tapas selection and mixture of deserts.
It was a little bit noisy. We were a table of 2 and we were next to a larger table of 6. The larger table looked to be a group of friends who were very loud. They got louder the more they drank. Which was a shame as we couldn't hear one another. But would go back, maybe try the steak next time.
Excellent food and customer service. Will definitely be coming back.
From the moment we walked into the Royal the staff made you feel welcome and the standard of service was seconded to none. Each member of staff took the time to talk to us and made sure we were having a great time.
The food was outstanding and presented beautifully, with a wide variety of Tapas dishes to sample.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We felt very safe with regards to the restaurants precautions for Covid.
Bravo, we will be back.
Interesting flavoursome dishes. Would like to see more fish options, only prawns and mussels on offer.
Lovely steak and great service
As a party of six we visited The Royal Wootton Bassett on a Monday evening expecting it to be a little quiet and not too much atmosphere. However, we were very wrong. It was busy with a lovely atmosphere. The decor, staff and food were all perfect. We’ll definitely visit again.
