   Lovely restaurant in St Andrews. We were a party of three plus a dog. The staff were very welcoming and immediately changed our table as we were designated a high table with stools in the bar area but after seeing we had an elderly person in our party gave us a table more suitable in the restaurant area. The food was excellent and good sized portions. Will definitely be back next time we’re in St Andrews.

   It's always a pleasant experience dining at The Saint. The Sunday Roast deal is great value and high quality.

   Staff were very pleasant but it took a long time for them to come and get our order. Food was tasty and well presented and the atmosphere was very congenial

   My mussels were lovely and fresh. My husband ordered a ciabatta sandwich, it said on the menu that it came with skinny fries and onion rings. It arrived without the skinny fries and the waitress disappeared before we could ask. We were left for around 20 minutes with no one checking until we had finished at which point my husband asked about the missing chips, she asked if he still wanted the chips and he said yes. They took about another 15 minutes to appear but they were chunky chips not skinny, so we assumed they had been upgraded as an apology as at no point had we received one yet. He wasn't offered any sauces like ketchup or vinegar, as she disappeared as soon as she set them down. When the bill finally came we had been charged £4 for the chips. My husband pointed out the skinny fries were included with the sandwich on the menu. The red haired waitress point blank said no they're not. He insisted saying I don't have the menu anymore but I assure you they are. She had the menu in her hands, opened it slowly and saw that he was right, said "oh yeah" at least looked embarrassed, and went off to take them off the bill. She put it down quickly and went to serve other tables. At no point had she apologised, and after another 5-10 minutes of waiting I got the attention of another server for the card machine. We didn't say on the booking as he didn't want a fuss but this was my husband's birthday and it left a rather sour taste on what had been a lovely day out in St. Andrews.

   Waited 40 mins before our drinks came. Food and service was average at best.

   Friendly, warm atmosphere. Spacious, clean and well maintained. Staff were very good. Food arrived promptly and was presented well and, the quality was very good indeed. The menu range was excellent. This is a place we will return to. Nestled by the old gateway, it really has a unique charm.

   Our meals (sea bass and macaroni & cheese) were okay, but the garlic ciabatta bread was coated with flour. The pistachio cake we had for dessert was dry. Service was friendly and efficient and the ambience was pleasant. Definitely above average overall.

    The food was excellent. The mussels and arancini starters were outstanding. Fish and chips were delicious although the batter is a little heavier than I like it. My son enjoyed his beef burger. Portions are generous. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.
