Once ordered the food took an hour to arrive .
Overall some of the cooked good was very nice while some of it was just plain awful. The seating was very uncomfortable and restrictive.
Good lively buzz. Menu provided a scottish twist on pub classics.
Overall things were find. Staff very pleasant. There are better restaurants in St. Andrews for the same price range. I was looking forward to my sole sandwich. Figuring a nice piece of fish and I received over fried tidbits of sole. We were all seated among a late party that occupied the rest of the room. They were very pleasant I just thin we shouldn’t have been seated with a party of approximately 25.
Great night, great food, busy restaurant but every group has their own space. We were in a booth which was great.
Will definitely be back.
Not great variety on menu and disappointing when food did come. Had club sandwich which was nothing to it and not worth the money. Grilled chicken in it was cold. Chips were amazing. Overall experience just average and would not rush back.
Food was better than last visit. However, waited thirty minutes for food.
We got a great table and the food and drinks were very tasty and the service was really good too
Lovely meal here again. Nice that there are always some regular items on the menu and some new items. Service was brilliant and never felt rushed in any way as me and my friend were chatting away completely oblivious of time. Alissa was very helpful and even came and checked if we needed anything else before she finsished her shift. Other staff, didnt cathch her name, was also super helpful.
Looking forward to going back.
Table booking was very easy and the welcome friendly at the restaurant. Service was prompt and friendly and the food came out after a wait that was not to long and was all great. 5 meals and all different kinds and all done well. Well worth the visit
Waitress efficient and polite but food took a while to arrive. When it did, quality of one dish very poor which was subsequently deducted from bill. Disappointing considering place wasn't mobbed.
Good value meal with good service. Comfortable seating in nicely decorated restaurant
Had eggs benedict. The ham hock was mostly dry and overcooked; the muffin was tough to cut. The eggs and sauce were good, as were the fries. The tea and caramel shortbread were excellent. Recommend to have eggs on toast and ask for hollandaise sauce on the side!
If visiting St Andrews, dining in The Saint is a must!!! Everything about it is lovely, from the staff, to the food, ambience, great prices. Would definitely recommend. Look forward to dining there again soon.
About 4 of us ordered the B12 burger. There wasnt any veggie haggis so they said they would add something else. THis may have been mushrooms but this isnt a protein so not a good replacement. I think we should have got a discount for it. Also the sweetcorn on the burger was cold, like it hadnt de frosted properly. The burger bun wasnt the best quality either. There also wasnt any chocolate sauce for someones ice cream so they got a raspberry couli.
First time at The Saint. So we went twice (it would be rude not too!) Loved the food, surroundings...but more importantly the friendly staff, many thanks Colin. We are home now in Cumbria but will return to The Saint when we visit St Andrews again, thank you.
The food took quite a long time to arrive.
Furthermore there was a long delay between the delivery of multiple espresso that were ordered at the same time.
Went to The Saint for a family meal, lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. The selection of cocktails was amazing, and all the food we had was great - especially the deserts!
Service was fantastic despite the busy environment, however, my party were not especially satisfied with their food portions – the food itself tasted great! It was also quite warm (I was sweating!) but overall a pleasant dining experience and will go again on a less busy and crowded evening.
Lovely evening at The Saint! Terrific food, attentive service. Thank you!
The Saint has a pleasant atmosphere and nice surroundings. the food was good but for the price the portions were very stingy
Menu selections were great and a terrific drink menu. My lamb was amazing, but unfortunately the service was terrible. She completely skipped over someone for a drink and food order. She didn't seem overwhelmed she just seemed apathetic. We were constantly trying to get our her attention. Luckily the bus staff were there. I feel they may have taken more orders from us than she did.
We were seated before a very large table came in, we ordered 2 drinks and waited over 15 minutes for them as our “check got lost” and the large table received all their drinks.
When ordering, the piggy black burger it was not explained that the black pudding was actually inside the burger so when swapping the pork burger for a beef one we just got a beef burger with apple and fennel which was really disappointing. After we had finished eating we moved our plates to the side to wait to be cleared and around 10 minutes later after 4 staff members walked past us we were finally cleared. Asked for bill and left straight away.
The courtyard was a fabulous place to have pre-dinner drinks. Our server was fantastic. My burger was from a different species !!! Others loved their meal. Great place to enjoy an evening with friends.
Great place, great waiter, only down side a group at the next table who didn’t have a volume button??
This was a lunch to celebrate my mum’s 92nd birthday. Along with me and mum were my daughter and her 7 week old baby boy. Our first table was not very suitable for him and the staff were so helpful in moving us to another table. Service was excellent as well as the food. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. In fact I have already done so to two friends!
The service was very slow - we arrived at 7 and left at 9.15! The waitress did her best but obviously there was a lack of staff. The chicken my mother in law had was very dry and she couldn't eat it. However our meals were tasty....when they eventhally arrived
Food was reasonable
Pimp your prosecco was an awesome shout and the hake was delicious, as was strawberry sundae
The Saint didn’t disappoint. Good quality food, pleasant setting and child friendly. Big thumbs up from our kids who are the harshest of critics, so we’ll be back.
Only our 2nd time there but won't be our last. The food was excellent and piping hot. Staff were efficient, friendly and always smiling. A real treat.
Fab service and food . A favourite for us in St Andrews.
Service was ridiculously slow! There were very few other busy tables to excuse the slow service. We were constantly asked if we wanted more drinks ‘while we waited’ & we all (5 of us) found this pretty irritating to be honest.
On the positive side my friend’s birthday was marked by a special tray of yummy goodies!
We had a large group with children and our waiter was unflappable. Food was decent, good atmosphere
Food arrived very very quickly, even though we had to wait a while for our drinks order before they took the food order (were only 3 of us) we had 2 courses within minutes of ordering to be fair with the main course coming as soon as starter was finished. We were in no hurry so it felt a bit rushed until they left us alone after the main and we had to ask for the dessert menu. (We did decide to have ice cream from the ice cream shop though!)
Decent size portions and very tasty. Very nice surroundings.
Great service, amazing food. Highly recommend The Saint.
The service was very slow out food was served almost one hour later . Our meals were alright but dessert of stickey toffee pudding was extremely sweet .
We ordered two beef steak sandwich, pan fried duck, avocado salad & pea soup. The portions were small, duck was chewy & rare, the avocado salad was warm. Soup was only warm. The waitress should have asked how we wanted the meat to be cooked as the beef & duck was too rare for our liking. Recooking made the taste different. The environment is good , staff ok but could be better.
Very relaxing venue. Hard working staff. Lovely gin garden. Comfy seats. Food good.
Bed comfy- rooms could do with an update but GHD hairdryer and straightners in room!
This restaurant exceeded my expectations. It was beautiful and bright and refined. The service and food was both impeccable and the waitress took our cues for a slow pace of the meal. We do not feel rushed during our leisurely lady lunch. Highly recommend this place
