Service was ridiculously slow! There were very few other busy tables to excuse the slow service. We were constantly asked if we wanted more drinks ‘while we waited’ & we all (5 of us) found this pretty irritating to be honest.
On the positive side my friend’s birthday was marked by a special tray of yummy goodies!
We had a large group with children and our waiter was unflappable. Food was decent, good atmosphere
Food arrived very very quickly, even though we had to wait a while for our drinks order before they took the food order (were only 3 of us) we had 2 courses within minutes of ordering to be fair with the main course coming as soon as starter was finished. We were in no hurry so it felt a bit rushed until they left us alone after the main and we had to ask for the dessert menu. (We did decide to have ice cream from the ice cream shop though!)
Decent size portions and very tasty. Very nice surroundings.
Great service, amazing food. Highly recommend The Saint.
The service was very slow out food was served almost one hour later . Our meals were alright but dessert of stickey toffee pudding was extremely sweet .
We ordered two beef steak sandwich, pan fried duck, avocado salad & pea soup. The portions were small, duck was chewy & rare, the avocado salad was warm. Soup was only warm. The waitress should have asked how we wanted the meat to be cooked as the beef & duck was too rare for our liking. Recooking made the taste different. The environment is good , staff ok but could be better.
Very relaxing venue. Hard working staff. Lovely gin garden. Comfy seats. Food good.
Bed comfy- rooms could do with an update but GHD hairdryer and straightners in room!
This restaurant exceeded my expectations. It was beautiful and bright and refined. The service and food was both impeccable and the waitress took our cues for a slow pace of the meal. We do not feel rushed during our leisurely lady lunch. Highly recommend this place
Great food wasn’t busy , we felt the menu was quite limited
Thank you so much. I asked you for a table in the window for my daughter taking her Dad out for a birthday treat and that’s exactly what you gave them. They loved it!
We had a lovely meal in the Saint. The little booth we were seated in was great, the food delicious and the service was spot on. A really enjoyable evening!
Was looking forward to lunch which had booked. Arrived and were put at a terrible table for two which was squashed next to the cutlery serving area when there were no other customers in room. Waitress said nothing and then left us for ages. Never came to take drinks order or anything and wasn't at all busy. Eventually got up and left. Very disappointing, won't be back.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good. We shall return soon.
We were at The Saint on Friday evening.Very good meal. It was very busy and noisy when we arrived but it didn’t bother us. Only complaint was my friend asked for Bacardi and coke and was given something else (?havana). This was rectified once she complained.
Delicious food; I enjoyed the MacNCheese very much - really tasty! And my friend had the duck which she polished off. The desserts were also good. It was a noisy Friday night, but we were thankful to be placed in a small booth of our own for the meal, so that was much appreciated. Service was prompt and with a smile. I will be back!
Food was okay, service wasn’t too great had to ask for water 3/4 times until we actually received it.
Very nice looking restaurant. Food was ok and service to very long time to bring out meal. Been 3 times now just to make sure it was not a one off event. Unfortunately it's was not.
Good food. Restaurant let down by dirty toilets. Despite two of our group telling staff that ladies toilets were messy, nothing was done about it. An explanation given was that they were short staffed as hadn't expected to be so busy. This was surprising given it was the Easter holiday weekend in a seaside town.
We have eaten here previously and had no complaints, so Saint...get your act together. Messy toilets are not what people expect in a restaurant of your standard.
the Poor waitress.... there was only her, one person on, waited over an hour for a toaste!!!
Good food and service in comfortable environment- but very noisy due to some large groups
The table we were given would have been more appropriate for a couple rather than two friends out for lunch. My friend was hidden in the corner and did not get a feel for the place or feel that she was part of the general dining experience.
I was dining on my own and was attended to beautifully by my waitress. I opted to sit upstairs in the quieter lounge area, looking out onto the garden area.
I started with the scallops which were delicious and then had the duck. The duck came with root vegetables and a dark jus, which was tasty but the duck would have been nicer presented in slices instead of two large pieces. I had the Mellis cheeseboard for dessert-there were enough cheeses and oatcakes but the black grapes were not as fresh as they could have been. I washed all of this down with a sweet rose wine. It wasn’t cheap but I felt it was value for money.
The building is very cute. It’s decorated in an appropriately chic way. Location is very good and central. We were pleased with the salads and entrees. Scottish gnocchi is different than Italian so that is a bit of a change but not bad. Everything was good. The service is somewhat slow but all around quite nice and probably the best we experienced in St Andrews.
Soup was cold, too long for main course to come, and the chunky chips were hard. Also, this is the first time we have been charged tax on the meal.
My husband and I always lunch in The Saint even before it changed name, but unfortunately will not return.
Very accommodating especially with friend who required GF menu. She was delighted with her special GF fish and chips. Comfortable and look forward to visiting outside terrace when weather gets warmer
Lovely atmosphere, whilst busy it you can still have a conversation. Great decor too. Food was good. Local sourced where possible, it really stood out. Decent portions and all freshly made with the exception of the mashed potato that felt it wasnt that mornings. It would not stop me returning. Good service provided by welcoming, smiling staff that came over they were genuinely interested in looking after you - simple yet something that so many places lack...
Went for family breakfast and it was great . Lots of choice for the five of us , including two children , great service .definitely worth a visit .
What a great place. Love the layout and different style seating. It was quiet on the Thurs evening we went but the tables are reasonably spaced out. Can imagine it havinna great vibe on a busy evening. Service was great and the staff attentive but not overly either, which I liked. It’s not a huge menu but more than enough choice. I had the monkfish scampi which was a well sized portion and beautifully cooked. The key lime pie dessert was also delicious and presented a little differently from normal, which was a nice touch (won’t spoil how it’s served). It was incredibly well priced and I will be back when I’m not driving to sample more off the cocktail menu. Fancy grabbing breakfast there too.
Very good food and service, I would recommend this Restaurant
Food was nice but service of the male bar man was terrible and will not returning.
nice place and beer ok...however food was mediocre...not bad ...just ok
Waited 60 mins on food. 2 of 4 plates were acceptable,3rd plate arived 5 mins later and was cold. 4th plate didn’t arrive.
Cold food returned 10 mins later, still cold.
4th plate still hadn’t arrived.

The restaurant was very busy on Saturday but staff were attentive and the food was good.
We booked the Saint sometime ago as we have eaten there before and loved it and because this was a special occasion to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday, we could not think of a more perfect place. From the moment we walked in the door the staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help us.
The meal was excellent and served again by friendly members of staff.
If you have not been her to eat before, then please take my advice and book and sure you will love it.
Well done the Saint for making our evening even more enjoyable with a fine meal and friendly staff.
Food very disappointing on this visit
Menu has changed since last visit and food of poor quality , quite tasteless
Restaurant was very busy and this may have contributed to this
Fourth visit to The Saint and have been impressed on each occasion. Great knowledge and range of gluten free food. Every one's a winner.
Really funky place, great decor and ambiance. Staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. Food was amazing, super-tasty and plentiful portions. Loved it, will definitely come back next time we're in St. Andrews.
Fab night in the Saint on Saturday
Excellent service and food
Late booking but accommodated 6 people. Food very good and good value but disappointed with late delivery of one guests main course, although cost was deducted, nice touch. Would recommend.
