The Salt Line
What Insiders Are Saying
Salt Line's New England-style seafood, outdoor bar, and attractive dining room are perfect for a date or dinner with parents in Navy Yard.
Great drinks! Great outdoor bar with seating along the waterfront. Food was very good but pricey.
As always, the food was great. Nicole was also very personable, knowledgeable and provided us with great service.
The food was just ok but the service was terrible. I can appreciate that they were busy but our
Had a great meal, best raw bar around!
One of the best restaurants in DC. Great to go to before a baseball game.
We loved this place! Great atmosphere, food and drinks!
I love coming here before a Nats game. Both the food and the service are outstanding. My current favorite entree is the swordfish. And save room for the blueberry dessert!
Salt Line offers a beautiful location right on the river. The outdoor patio is spacious with both overhead fans and heat, so you will enjoy the perfect climate regardless of the outside temperature. The menu offers a variety of seafood items, we particularly enjoyed the crab dip, stuffed clams, lobster roll (to die for), and the soft shell crab. Our son who isn't a seafood lover enjoyed the bavette steak. The waitstaff is super attentive without ever being in your way. If you choose to eat inside, it's super cute, and has awesome clean & stylish bathrooms, too. There's a private room which I'd love to use for an event in the future. Love this place!
Had the seafood tower and it was outstanding.
Great location on the river with outdoor seating.
Fun, casual modern oyster shack.
Delicious food and excellent service!
Great family birthday brunch!!!
The food was amazing. Our server Mac was great and went out of his way to help me with my dairy issues. Did I mention the food was amazing!
I went to Salt Line around 5pm on a Wednesday for happy hour. Ample seating was available at the bar. The happy hour menu is small but has a variety to pick from. Happy hour prices are very reasonable and ambience is amazing. I’ll definitely return.
Terrible food with no taste and tiny portions
Noise levels are tolerable outside on the patio, but pretty excessive inside. The sweet corn veloute sauce and the shrimp and bacon fiocchetti which it accompanied were just outstanding!! And the oysters on the half shell were quite wonderful, though the varieties available on any given day may change frequently. And at least one of the wait staff was just perfect -- available and attentive although busy, ready with suggestions when asked, but not in the least intrusive.
Excellent service. Excellent kitchen. A little pricey, but I will return again.
Great oysters. Wonderful chock full lobster roll. Pricey but very good.
Great pregame hangout.
I thought the wine by the glass was a short pour. Also not sure why Salt Line doesn’t accept gift cards since they are just debit cards.
Delicious food, great menu and great service
With the family and food, service, location were perfect. Across from Nats stadium. Highly recommend.
Great food. Very small portion but it was very tasty (bacon and shrimp dumpling) I would say skip if very hungry. Good cocktails and nice views of the river. Dog friendly.
Great food and drinks. great vie of river and stadium and sites all around. Really recommend. good for the price. need more covered outside eating space. bar looks great and atmosphere is amazing.
Great restaurant! Good food and drinks and great service! lived up to all the hype
I really liked this restaurant & loved the location & atmosphere. I do think with it being an oyster bar that they (the oysters) could have been larger in comparison to other nearby spots with similar fare. I also thought the seasoning on the food overall could have been stronger, but that's my preference.
Outstanding seafood and desserts in a great, social atmosphere with wonderful water views. Good for families or friends, and suitable for all ages. Parking can be tricky, but that was the only downside.
Outstanding service and always fresh oysters. Nice and quiet atmosphere with beautiful view.
Excellent. We arrived early for a reservation before the Nats game. The staff seated us promptly and cheerfully at a table by the window in the back room. My lobster roll was delicious as were my friends’ pasta dishes. Our server, Gus, was knowledgeable and upbeat. We will return.
Enjoyed our dinner- stopped by after baseball game- great surprise! Will go again soon
We sat outside which was great and our waitperson was awesome
The food is good but a little pricey
SUPER close to Nats stadium. Perfect pre-game dinner meal. Delicious seafood and drinks with a fun, upscale atmosphere
Once again I experienced a wonderful meal with outstanding service. My server remembered me from a previous visit which was a nice surprise. The Salt Line added my new favorite swordfish dish to its menu and I love it. Can't wait to return soon! Thank you for making me feel so welcome.
LOVE it the food and the service was amazing, defiantly will go back in the future
My husband and I dined here on a Sunday night and overall we enjoyed our experience. He got the butter lettuce salad that came dressed in a vinaigrette which he enjoyed and he typically doesn’t like vinaigrette dressing. And he got the fried seafood platter, it came with a variety of seafood, fries, onion rings, and coleslaw. Everything was prepared well, tasty, and portion size was filling. I had some local oysters on the half shell and they were amazing, very fresh and tasty, I only chose 3 to go along with the seafood charcuterie board and I should have gotten a dozen oysters instead of the seafood charcuterie, and this is why I took off 1 star for the food. The concept is different and unique but the best things on it to me were the smoked white fish salad and Texas sausage, the pickled oysters were tasteless and the fish corn dog was soggy and tasteless, the sliced smoked fish was average and the accoutrements were basic. I’m glad I tried it for the experience but wouldn’t order it again. I also had the lobster roll with salad greens, the roll was buttered and grilled very well and there was a good amount of lobster however for my taste it was slightly over cooked but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The salad greens were tasty and also dressed in a vinaigrette. To round out the meal I had 2 glasses of dry riesling that complimented the meal well. The service was attentive and food came out fairly quick. The ambiance and decor inside the restaurant was nice, they also offer outside dining overlooking the water.
Our bill came to $154 which is about average for us. We will definitely be going back if for nothing else but the oysters and seafood platter. And it’s in our neighborhood which is a definite plus.
Loved it! My brother bought me a gift card for Christmas to eat here and it got me to discover a whole new developed part of the water front. I did not realize the water front had been developed this far west. The food was great. We had fresh oysteds, chowder, and grilled sword, and chocolate lava cake dessert. All was delicious and the staff was great. We highly recommend. The restaurant was a little loud so if you have somoene with a hearing aid maybe sit outside?
The lobster rolls were very good. They have some of the best hush puppies I have ever had!
Visiting DC and joined friends from DC and NYC. Beautiful setting; we we're fortunate to sit outside and the weather was perfect. Great food. The seafood large tower may have been a bit overpriced, but it was quite good. Don't miss the stuffies! Loved the tomato salad and grilled watermelon salad. Had lobster rolls both dressed and buttered. Wouldn't hesitate to go again.
Great ambience to impress a girl to take your friendship to another level.
