Located opposite Brighton’s West Pier, our seaside restaurant has the best sea views which can be enjoyed from our glass fronted mezzanine or for alfresco dining on our shaded terrace. The Private Dining Room allows for a larger party to enjoy the views and menu in style.
Great food as always and the service by our waitress was wonderful she really looked after us.
Great fish shellfish...salad was clumsy and heavily overdressed...drinks service very good....vegetable side should have been hot not cold
Everything was lovely, the food was fresh and tasted amazing. Will definitely return
Excellent friendly service and superb food. This is our favourite place to eat in Brighton.
The second time we have ate here - we bought friends from America - was a simply amazing meal and excellent service - thank you x
Clever food perfectly executed. Immaculate service. Liked the BYOB on Monday. Will certainly go back
Perfect place to go for a treat or an occasion. Wonderful food and service
We loved the outside room and would have been less happy in the inside room. Everything was fine and the service perfect until it tailed off towards the end of the meal. We will go again and hope to be able to give it 5 stars all around.
Excellent service from arrival to paying the bill.
Great menu with lots of choice although seafood a speciality.
All dishes were thoroughly enjoyed
I’ve been here before and always had a good experience.
This time not so great .
The waitress was lovely but no quite on the ball
They forgot my drink order
They were helpful with our food order as we had so many intolerances and allergies at our table
The food came out . They failed to tell us the side vegetables of green beans were going to be cold.
They were left
I ordered Cod which came a few minutes after everyone else’s food.
I got Trout.
I said to a waitress this wasn’t Cod. She said they had run out and trout was the replacement. They forgot to tell when I ordered.
They asked if I wanted to replace it for something else. A bit late when all our guests were already eating.
They said they would take the drink I just ordered off the bill.
We paid but made the point when leaving to tell them that good customer service would be if someone is given food they didn’t order you really shouldn’t charge them for it.
Won’t be going back
Sea food is awesome! Location is nice, best for dinner.
I’ve been here before I really did enjoy it but this time I felt the food was not the same. We had nothing until after we had finished our starter to wipe our hands I made my own bowl of water to rinse our hands whilst peeling our prawns. The. The plates for our food were so hot the staff were worried about us burning ourselves they were that hot that they cooked our steak which we had ordered medium rare to well done making it dry and tough we didn’t have lots of drink and the food cost £312 then they wanted a £40 service charge we had shared a £50 starter so it was £250 for 5 meals ? Which I have had better. It was such a shame as I do love the restaurant and the staff are so lovely just felt the food let it down a bit this time especially since you could have done yourself arm with the dinner plates never mind
Wonderful food and really attentive staff. Such a treat to have Sunday lunch at the Salt Room.
Just back from a great meal at Salt Room. The service was very smooth and friendly and the meal itself was outstanding.
Great food and service was good restaurant food was served fresh and presented perfectly
Really nice place, really nice food bit on the expensive side. Nice experience but wouldn’t go mad and say amazing.
The food is always excellent and your desserts to die for!
We like to have the seafood platter and only the hot version was available , it would be nice to have the cold version as a choice but it was still outstanding.
We had a brilliant lunch, the service came with a big smile and a great wine suggestion. The food was all incredible, we’re already planning our next visit. 10/10
Lovely Food, fantastic Service, A great evening. I would certainly recommend.
Great restaurant with delicious food. We had the special fish platter for two which were amazing! Highly recommended.
A most enjoyable experience! Delicious and beautifully presented food, excellent service. Highly recommended!
food was okay, more of a tasting menue, we also got charged for 2 things we didnt order, was quite nice though, bbq monk fish highly reccomended!
Good place to eat seafood and observe some of the goings on on the seafront at Brighton. Bit rich on the sauces
Wonderful food with very friendly and professional service.
table server very abrupt and came across a bit rude
unfortunately another server split the whole soup over us (not really her fault - the serving dish was a bit precarious)
red meat not cooked as requested, and manager challenged the customer on this
bill appropriately reduced, but the experience was a real let down
Food was excellent
Some wines on list not available, wanted to offer bottles around £10 more
No wine glasses provided
No option to taste wine
Attended the pride buffet. Free flowing proseco and canapés. The drink and service were fantastic but the food needed to have more choice
We stayed in Brighton for three days and had many good meals but the one at the Salt room was my favourite
Great service from very attentive staff, incredible food very well presented
We came to the Salt Rooms to celebrate my son's graduation, we were a family of 6. The food was most excellent - very well presented and tasty. Our waitress was extremely lovely - polite, cheerful and very efficient - first class. We all enjoyed the meal very much. One thing though, we were sat in the conservatory part overlooking the seafront but the windows were very misted-it looked like condensation and in need of replacing - didn't add to the ambience.
Fantastic food, brilliant service - but strangely lacking in atmosphere, although plenty of people in.
Excellent food, rather slow service, but it was crowded. A bit too noisy for a romantic evening!
Really outstanding menu with food cooked and served exceptionally well - all with a seafront location and friendly staff - if you like seafood you have to come to this place
We had a lovely time and we’re give a table with a sea view as requested. The staff and service were friendly and attentive and the overall experience was excellent.
Great food but service wasn't amazing - certainly didn't match up to the standard of the food! Not any issues, but just not very warm or attentive. Food was really delicious though :)
The sewer was broken in the hotel next door and there was a strong smell of sewerage throughout the whole meal. This was not mentioned by our waiter, despite many other guests turning up and then leaving straight away. The food was bland and not particularly warm, overall it felt a little style over substance. We will not be returning.
There is a big problem with sewage pipes from the Hilton hotel above so the whole inside smells strongly of human feaces- everyone has to sit on the veranda which is next to the main road so noisy. They really need to shut down until the problem is fixed. I’d heard great things about the food but the steak was tasteless and the oysters were average. The waiting staff were good but is appalling of the management to expect them to work when the place smells so bad.
I thought the food was ok, rather small portions obviously designed to make sure you have the three courses.
The prices where high end, something that I’d expect back in London, but this is Brighton not London, the view of the sea would add some weight to the prices being asked, but again it’s Brighton not Monaco! Would I go back, unlikely.
Perhaps the night wasn’t helped by the fact that the hotel next door was having its drains cleared at the time we were eating, so the smell wasn’t great!
Over priced and underwhelming. The venue is beautiful and you walk in excited however the food was a major let down and waste of money. All entrees were tasteless, lacking in flavour and leaving you not wanting to finish (which wasn’t hard with the very small servings) the king prawns were completely bland and both other entrees were horrible. Our beers were half beer half froth(head), so good if you want half a pint when you order a whole. Mains were fresh but also missed any extra flavour that would make me see why this restaurant is so popular. We came from London for our anniversary and wish we just went to a nice pizza restaurant instead. For less than half the price I’m sure we would’ve had nicer food.
A wonderful place for a celebration - everything was beautifully presented and the staff professional but friendly and fun - perfect - have recommended and hope to return
