Superb service, superb food. Couldn’t fault anything!!!
My favourite restaurant for a reason food is always on point, amazing service and good atmosphere!
I had an enjoyable evening
At the Salt Room but I am not sure the food was that amazing and I was disappointed with the pudding.
The waiter was very pleasant and efficient and I will return but would hope that the food will be better
Excellent flavourful seafood cooked perfectly.
The service was excellent. The waitress was very informative.
Would definitely come back.
Fantastic afternoon tea! Great for a special occasion.
Amazing service start to finish! I had visited The Salt Room once before so had high expectations returning for my boyfriends birthday. My expectations were succeeded! The waiter knew so much about the food and drinks available and all service was with a smile. Food was delicious and the setting is just stunning. Can’t wait to go back!
Yes i would for sunday roast, unfortunately i am not a fish eater!
Eaten here before and gave a good review but did make a note on the Manager. The same Manager displayed similar arrogance when attempting to eat there last Saturday when the restaurant was virtually empty but turned away. Despite this my wife insisted on eating there for lunch on the Sunday as she liked the vegetarian options the last visit. Should not have, the same non welcoming Manager was on front desk, of the two servers the first did not serve the second bottle of water ordered but the second girl did and was extremely efficient. No bread was offered at the table, the Oysters were great but came with no bread , the lemon sole was undercooked, bottom side skin was slimy and the bone bloody Wife said her beetroot starter and curried cauliflower was delicious. Ambiance well set out restaurant but the Terence was extremely noisy, the greater and sitter apologized for this but 1. we stipulated the Terrace and 2. the restaurant cannot be accountable for the traffic but mention for those reading the review. Meal without alcohol was £90. Whilst a claimed restaurant was empty so was my wallet....no tip. Difficult hard to find access.
Went for a friend’s 40th and had a lovely meal.
Really loved sharing the taste of the pier dessert. It’s a must try!
Lovely food, good friendly and knowledgable staff and very welcoming. Ladies toilet REALLY lets you down. No paper, paper towels all over the floor and bin full. Unfortunately needs regular checks which I appreciate could be difficult. Having said that we had a lovely evening and the perfect table by the window. Thank you
We had a wonderful meal. Excellent friendly service. Looking forward to our next visit!
Excellent food, perfectly cooked and the service was fantastic
Lovely food. It was disappointing that the menu had changed and we were not informed until after we had ordered. At least we were only charged for our original choice not the more expensive fish we were served. We will still come back.
This is my fifth time at The Saltroom and it was everything that I’ve come to expect - fab food, friendly service and relaxed ambience. One area for improvement is the ladies toilets which are looking tired and pretty scruffy - broken flusher, chipped paintwork and broken toilet roll holder. Not really acceptable for the standard of restaurant and pricing structure. PS we are also regular visitors to both Coal Sheds which we love........especially Tower Bridge.
Another good experience here.
We have been to the salt rooms a number of times and would highly recommend this restaurant. The staff are always very accommodating and the atmosphere is always great however, we ordered the surfboard and the fish was very over cooked. The prawns tasted of a burnt BBQ and there was not a big variety of fish. We always order the taste of the pier and it wasn't the best and the ice creams have massively shrunk!
Great location, great staff but food isn't at its best!
Delicious fresh food, a professional server with an excellent personality for the role and perfect ambience. The restaurant was busy and bustling but we could all chat easily without having to shout over the table to be heard.
Had an amazing time and as I had just found out I was going to be a grandparent the waitress was very caring and made the occasion even more special with a congratulations presentation at the end of the meal.
Thank you to her for being so kind
Noisy, poor value, undercooked food, small serves. Good service. Food was very under-cooked. My medium rare steak was almost blue. My wife's monkfish was cold in the middle. We assumed it was pre-cooked it and reheated. She sent hers back. It was replaced by one that wasn't qute cold in the middle. Most of my steak was inedible. The bots I could eat were tasty. Chips on the side were stodgy and there was a shrivelled tomato. My wife has an over-cooked ball of deep fried pulled pork on the side. It was described as Char Siu (Chinese bbq'd pork) but it wasn't. The starters were tasty but tiny. The mains were also rather small. Even a carafe of wine turned out to be a demi-carafe.
Really great seafood restaurant in a cool, cozy ambiance. The menu is slightly different from the usual seafood place and it was executed really well.
Romantic ambiance, fantastic food and awesome staff what more can I say, will definitely comeback!
The food was excellent and the knowledge and enthusiasm of the staff matched. We dined as a family (3 children under 11), our waiter genuinely cared about our experience. Quality of the meat and seafood was exceptional, we will definitely return. Thank you
Excellent interesting food with the emphasis on fabulous fresh fish and seafood, beautifully presented. The monkfish was the most delicious and well cooked I have ever eaten. Fantastic service from charming and knowledgable Irish waiter enhanced the experience, a lovely, memorable meal.
As usual, a lovely evening. They really go out of their way here to make your evening special, and you get what you pay for in the way of service. Food is beautiful, and you feel safe ordering anything and knowing it will be good. No request too big or too small here.
Brilliant restaurant with friendly staff and great service
Last year we are here and had a good experience. Last week we did not. We ordered the Shellfish platter which looks amazing in the pictures and should feature a selection of shellfish. It did not.
No crab, no mussels, no clams, no calamari. It was langoustine, king prawns, 2 small queen scallops, 2 oysters. Hardly a platter. Manager apologised and explained waitress should have explained what would be missing!
Should not be selling this. He did however take £10 off the platter and didn't add the service charge. Plus supplied an additional side dish and even more prawns! . He did try.
delicious food and lovely service! was fun watching one of the dishes being filleted in front of us! only complaint Is that one of the party had to choose a different starter twice, but was resolved quickly and politely by the person serving us, would definitely come here again!
Fantastic service and amazing food!
Our waitress couldn't have done more for us and was extremely attentive!
The food was amazing especially the Octupus starter and Steak Tartare.
Sea view was also a great bonus!
This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant and it didn't disappoint.
The food is lovely but for me the service makes this restaurant. Sadly, I have forgotten the name of the waitress, but I have a few intolerances to deal with and she was so knowledgeable and helpful. With intolerances you can't expect a massive range on the menu but there were a few choices for me (not desserts) and I was more than happy with my choice. I had the crusted sea bream and my husband had a lovely steak.
I did struggle with the alcohol though as I have intolerances to some alcohols. The Vodkas were all wheat vodkas (they normally do a Quinoa vodka but had run out) its all good and well having fancy vodkas but it would be good to have something a bit more normal too. BTW Absolut is gluten free but not wheat free so better to go with a wheat free such as Chase or Belvedere.
Also, they had run out of Rose Champagne (which we wanted) and again this is the only wine/Champagne I can drink due to intolerances (true story) so that was a bit disappointing but overall everything was great.
Service was great and the vibe was lovely. Only downside was our starters came before our oysters but they accepted me refusing them with no issues and made us fresh starters for after our oysters so excellent customer service. I would definitely return.
Great food and service.
Only improvement would be better knowledge of the menu, we asked what one of the deserts consisted of and we just got the menu read back to us.
Excellent all round. Great service. Beautiful sea bass for sharing, great oysters also. Great evening all the best Nat
Food was incredible, restaurant was lovely and service was friendly. We had the guinea foul breast and the burger of which both were delicious. Would highly recommend.
If you like sea food, this is a great option. The food is original and very well done.
The atmosphere is relaxed but still classy.
The first time we went we got the steak and loved it. We were told they were better with seafood, so we ordered the recommended monk fish. The piece we got and the presentation of it was disappointing. They did apologise and give us a larger piece, but really the taste of it wasnt very good, not what i would expect for the cost. On the other hand, my family got the steak, which actually was better than the fish. So they may actually be bettwr with steak vs fish it seems. The service was great though.
Food was delicious, appetising, tasty, yummy, scrumptious and mmmmm
This restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The food is exquisite and the service was brilliant. The food presentation was eye catching and every dish tasted incredible. I cannot recommend the Salt room highly enough. Incredible experience
Beautifully presented food excellent service so yes I would recommend
Service was very good and the food was delicious. Apart from the big group that was noisy, it was a great experience.
Second visit for afternoons tea and it was as good as the previous visit.
A minor hiccup about our reservation(a la caste or afternoon tea) but the staff resolved the issue without fuss.
We opted for the gin and tonic choice and the food was delicious - both the savoury selection and the sweet one.
We will definitely visit again but suggest making a confirmatory phone call if you are looking for afternoon tea rather than a la carte
