Professional yet very welcoming and friendly staff. Seated immediately. Excellent service throughout.
Octopus starter was exceptional as was the Dover Sole. Indeed all the dishes were very well prepared and presented. They tasted great.
Would certainly recommend this restaurant and would most certainly return.
The Salt House is conveniently located between The Hilton and The Grand so an easy choice. However, the service and the food let it down in my opinion. Even taking into account the time of Covid the service could have been friendlier and the food certainly could have been much better.
It was a lovely evening, great food and cocktails. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again
Ask for a table near the front windows. Ours was at the back right next to the waiter station so not ideal. Lots of clattering of cutlery
Nice ambience, great food, good service. Posh but not too posh,
we were seated at the table next to ladies toilet and staff kitchen area so it was busy, always someone queuing given only one in, one out of the toilet. The table next to us had 6 people and was extremely loud at times, so much so we couldn't hear each other. Pity because the food and service was excellent. That said, I notice the food and drinks/cocktail menu were substantially reduced from previous experience, I assume due to COVID which was a shame. In future I would book directly with the restaurant in order to ensure a better table location
Kids fish was served with curry flavour batter - I thought it was delicious but neither child would touch it - kids food should be served plain without unusual flavours. So from a quite expensive kids meal all they ate was a plate of chips and a blob of icecream.
Thr adults had the Sunday roast which was delicious apart from being served with boiled potatoes rather that the advertised potatoes.
Over all quite nice but not worthy of the price tag.
Absolutely amazing food, amazing views and amazing staff. We will definitely be returning to the Salt Room!
Lovely food and staff. I would Thoroughly recommend the Salt Room
Always well cooked fish and seafood, best atmosphere restaurant in Brighton, love going back there!
Amazing food, friendly staff, we had the best time 😊
Starter of Sour dough bread was an inedible brick . The slow cooked egg was jelly like and unappetising and not recommended but maybe im fussy. Fish and chips very disappointing. Fish was poor quality watery and bland. The french fries (not chips) were very greasy and salty and peas tasteless. We didnt bother with desert
Our Waiter was ok but we didn’t feel particularly that any big the staff were bothered, in fact when I asked a waiter if we could have four plates (we were sharing a desert) it felt like he was going us a huge favour. It was quite full and very noisy. The food was ok but we all felt overpriced.
Fabulous afternoon lunch. Made us forget all the worries in the world for a couple of hours!
My partner and I had an okay evening at the Salt Room. Our food was very tasty and nicely presented - particularly the fish platter. However, the ambience was lacking (no music playing when we arrived and other tables still being prepped). We also found it to be fairly pricey.
The Salt Room was a lovely setting and we had a table with lovely sea views. Each course was well presented. We both had the monkfish main which was well worth it. Our server was also very charming despite having to communicate through a mask.
For a plate costing £30 a head, it could have been presented a little better. We both had the sharing dish but didn’t see the mussels underneath everything else. The little cigalis looking shellfish are used to flavour stocks with in the Mediterranean as there is no substance to them. You get very little once peeled. Bit disappointed. Great service though.
We both had 3 courses each. Each course was lovely.
Waiting staff friendly & approachable, thank you for a lovely evening :-)
Disappointed in the sharing roast, noted on the menu as on the bone however received the meat sliced up off the bone. Also came almost well done when we asked for medium/rare as that was suggested. Overall wasn’t as good as we were expecting. Wouldn’t return for a roast or recommend this to friends and family. Shame.
We had a mouth watering sunday lunch of roast sirloin of beef for 2 the service was attentive and atmosphere lovely.
The food was an absolute pleasure - delicious and beautifully presented. Service was lovely, warm and friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Very nice venue and great atmosphere for a memorable Sunday lunch
The food was very good as was the service. The only thing that stops me from giving this 5 stars was the wine. We ordered the Malbec which turned out to be a 2019 which was just a bit too young for our taste. We would happily pay more for good wine so would like to suggest a little more choice on good wines please.
The food is beautiful here and really attentive service too! Lots of effort made to make sure we enjoyed our meal and we were given the option to try wine so we could make sure we liked it before buying. Couldn’t recommend more! Will definitely visit again. It was quite loud and hard to hear especially with masks but the waiters did everything they could to help us communicate better!
Lovely food, very fresh as you’d expect as restaurant is right by the seafront! Would definitely go again
Brilliant service and amazing food! Despite the COVID restrictions we were still made to feel welcome and had a lovely experience.
Came to celebrate my fiancé 30th. Great service throughout amazing food and wine
Really lovely Friday lunch. Friendly, professional and efficient staff. Great food and cocktails. Good value for money. Covid measures put into place. Will definitely return
Outstanding food and great service. Alcohol A little pricey
Overall is brilliant, except our main dish (fish of the day) could be more flavour than what we had, but it’s good with the sauce they provide. And really good services and ambience
Food was stunning and the whole experience very special.
Our server was very helpful and friendly while unobtrusive. The food was excellent and very nicely presented.
Fantastic seafood, great service and good value for the (very high) quality of the food. Thank you!
Delicious sea food and cocktails. The service was spot on and we were made to feel very comfortable. It felt very covid safe
This is a nice restaurant which serves interesting and good food, however it is quite noisy, so if you are looking for a place with low noise levels it is not for you.
Best porterhouse steak I’ve ever eaten. Lovely place - highly recommended
WE came on Sunday and unfortunately the roast had already sold out even though we were there at 18:30 and so we shared the sea bass which was lovely but not enough for two people. We went to Nandos after as we were still hungry. I've been looking forward to going to your restaurant for such a long time so it was a little disappointing.
I cannot fault anything, from the staff to the food. My favourite meal is a roast and I can honestly say it was the best I have ever had. We had a lovely waitress, she made our visit even better. We will be back x
Booked for Sunday lunch with my daughter and her fiance. The food was excellent and the service very good. We had a variety of dishes and all were perfect. Very lively restaurant and everyone welcome. Definitely hope to be able to revisit.
Perfect Sunday lunch - drinks good quality but slightly expensive
