This review is mostly about Open Table. We booked a table. Got confirmation with a reservation number. Arrived at venue and they had no booking for us. I showed booking number on 'phone. Told they would try and 'find' us a table. The restaurant was not full and we were placed on a table with explanations that more satisfactory tables were booked. This was 1pm and there were plenty tables - some remained still empty when we left at 2.30 ish. This was an awkward experience which tainted our experience there. The food was terrific. Have subsequently booked at another venue through Opentable but will now 'phone ahead to the venue to make sure that we're actually booked in.

Not the greatest visit to The Salt Rooms, a birthday surprise spoilt by a below parr menu choice plus the table service was fair, One and only plus point the mackerel starter was probably the best I’ve had. The John Dory cooked to perfection however the side slaw played 2nd fiddle I have always recommended The Salt Room to friends and clients, this certainly won’t be the case based on this experience.

Good food but very loud and unpleasant environment. You have to shout to have a conversation which makes it annoying. Staff grumpy and seemingly unhappy to be there, starter arrived along with the main, unjustified service charge

This restaurant came recommend by a follower on Instagram. Clearly a popular place as reservations were hard to come by (be sure to book in advance). However we managed to get in for lunch. Situated on the front you have amazing views of the sea. Great ambience inside and out. The team were very welcoming and on hand for anything you may of needed. Food was exceptional with lots of choices. Combination of flavours and textures was perfect! Would highly recommend this place. Great drinks, wine, food and service. We were staying at a nearby hotel so passed everyday and each day they were busy which just shows how popular this place is. Be sure to visit!

The best meal I’ve had in a long time. Scallops were incredible, great flavours and cooked to perfection. The surfboard was really good, nice mix of different seafood and the aioli was out of this world. Lovely vibe in the restaurant too. It’s nice inside but not overly smart and the waitresses were lovely.

We came here for a birthday lunch and were not disappointed. The oysters were chilled and very fresh and the Surfboard we shared had a great mix of seafood with fries and salad. All the food was delicious and we'll happily come back.

Great food and great service but was freezing cold and windy. The outside area is nice but it’s like a wind tunnel. My food was cold after the 2nd or 3rd bite. It was great service though and the staff were really great considering how cold they must have been. I think we were just unlucky with the weather. If it had been warmer or less windy it would have made a massive difference
