You can’t get a much better venue on a sunny Monday evening than this.
Food was beautifully cooked, service was attentive without being OTT.
If you enjoy fish and seafood cooked with a modern twist you shouldn’t be disappointed.
We will return next time we’re in Brighton

Being a sunny and warm evening we choose the terrace. The food - as always superb! steak tartare with the sharing seafood platter followed by the cheese board (the local blue cheese which, according to a french waiter, was better than the french blue cheeses - praise indeed) with a couple of glasses of sauterne a great combination. Not cheap but highly recommended!

Very good food and service. Shortages in the menu due to non delivery of shellfish and some wines, but, overall excellent

The Seafood platter was exceptional, and I've had a few, not padded out with cockles or whelks, all well cooked and good quality. Friendly service and well-spaced out tables ...

It was my partners birthday and we had already looked at the menu before going and decided on the Surfboard and omg what an amazing surprise that was when it came out. It was huge and so delicious and well presented.
We had a wonderful evening and can’t wait to come back.

Lovely food but didn’t feel like value for money. £60 for two to have the surf board. All beautifully cooked but over priced.

Great plates from start to end. You know when you've found a decent place when the sides are as exciting as the mains. Quite pricey but worth every penny.

The Salt Room is always great, the food is delicious and and very pleasing presented. The staff is very friendly and professional. We sat on the terrace which was lovely in the very warm weather. Everything is clean and the all the rules about social distance was in place. Have been coming to the Salt Room since it open, just wish I lived closer so we could go more often. Highly recommended the Salt Room.

An old regular, I stopped going before Covid when a delicately flavoured expensive fish, was utterly ruined by a huge pile of burnt sweet corn, etc. Advertised as coming with a bouillabaisse, this was completely lost in the burnt corn. Other things were piled on the fish but I've erased it from my mind. On that occasion, the starter wasn't cooked enough; raw batter, and the pudding was rock solid chocolate torte; impossible to put a fork into.

This being my first visit since or anywhere after Covid, I hoped for better. My tempura starter was delicious. The lemon sole was over cooked and again, the delicate flavour of the fish utterly lost in a great pile of what must have been, half a jar of capers and at least 2 large chopped gherkins, WITH curry oil???? Why? I refused the free champagne and pudding; so disappointed. I note that the manager used to run Terre a Terre and perhaps too much emphasis on non meat/fish ingredients is being encouraged. This is just not required.

We were so well looked after on our first night out since lockdown. I wasn't sure why nobody was wearing a mask but once you're in a space with so many other people I suppose that's irrelevant. Great service and food. We'll be back!

Delicious food and cocktails .
Service was excellent, with little waiting time, especially when you want another glass of wine mid meal.
The restaurant was a little noisy as there aren’t many soft furnishings to absorb the sound, but we still had a wonderful time.

This was our second visit (our first was about 3 years before). Even though it was a different chef this time around, the food was to the same excellent standard.
Definitely one to try, you won't be disappointed.
