Located opposite Brighton’s West Pier, our seaside restaurant has the best sea views which can be enjoyed from our glass fronted mezzanine or for alfresco dining on our shaded terrace. The Private Dining Room allows for a larger party to enjoy the views and menu in style.
Food and service very good all though i feel its a little bit expensive staff were all very friendly and helpful would visit again
Lovely food obviously lots of care and attention taken in all aspects. We were taken care of and food ordered was served in a timely, friendly and professional manner.
We had an informal business meeting. Has requested a quiet table with a view which we had. Service was attentive but unhurried. Food was fabulous. Highly recommended
Perfect meal, service fabulous. Ideal night out for 20th wedding anniversary
Food was really lovely, inventive flavours and aubergine pickle that was amazing. The staff we very friendly and helpful. Great place.
Our second visit here with the kids and the food and service was great. They were very family friendly and I would definitely recommend the Salt Room.
Father’s Day lunch.
Very accommodating staff, and excellent food.
Delicious food with extensive menu choice, great service and chilled vibe. Fantastic sea views and outside terrace area which will be perfect in the sunshine.
We visited The Salt Room for my Mother's birthday, and they had this marked on the booking to greet us when we arrived. We had a lovely window table and the service was very attentive throughout. The food was simply incredible and they catered brilliantly for my dairy free requirements, with our server clearly having full knowledge of the menu and ingredients. I cannot fault the food, the service, or the atmosphere in the restaurant. I would definitely visit again.
Really top notch service (from Conor i think), that complimented fantastic tastes and flavours on a very exciting menu. Would recommend to anyone, esp if fans of fish.
first class food with attentive and friendly service
Good choices of fish and quite creative and appetising vegetarian options. We had an early booking so started off quite quiet and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the meal.
The best Charcoal Roast Seabass! Not our first time here; never disappoints.
We had lunch from the set menu. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. We had a table next to the window so l would try and get one of those if you’d like a sea view as some of the others are much further back.
We had a lovely night with wonderful food and service and atmosphere. What more can you ask for!
My partner and I looked up after tasting the mains, locked eyes and exclaimed a simple, simultaneous, wow. Such craft and skill to elevate the humble fish to such epicurean delights.
The Sole was never overpowered by the flavour packed sauce, if it was a sauce, more a clever side stew I guess. Delicate and generous enough to let the fish shine through, so fresh, so elegant.
It's a lovely space and clearly a go to must in Brighton.
Fabulous place! Perfect location, amazing food, brilliant service, the lady who served us was incredible, knowledgeable, professional and friendly.
I don't think the food is as good as it used to be. We had the sharing platter roast and although the meat and gravy was lovely, the potatoes were dry. We also had the beside the sea dessert, which is their signature dessert priced at £18 for two. We've had this before, but sadly this time around it didn't even come close to how good it used to be. I'd go as far to say it was a bit stale in terms of some of the sweets. Kids eat free under 7 and in all honesty the food was good for our little one. The service was exceptional. Just such a shame about our meal.
An amazing place good food professional staff that really look after you, nothing is to much. With out question the best place to have an evening and eat some wonderful food !!!
A treat meal and probably the best dining experience in Brighton. Attention to detail impressive, imaginative and flavoursome food, very good wine selection and excellent advice from a knowledgeable sommelier.
Had an amazing afternoon tea on a busy Saturday with the dining room full. Brilliant food, lovely atmosphere and nice to see so many happy staff working.
Food was amazing, atmosphere was great and the service was fantastic. Will definitely go back!
Excellent service, very good food, great wine - really enjoyed it!
Fabulous food and service
Great food and service. However let down by the awful chips. I really dislike fat chips but these were not even cooked nicely please can you do thin chips.
Went to the Salt Room to celebrate hubbys birthday and were fortunate to be able to sit outside as it was a warm sunny day.
We had lunch there which was perfect, gorgeous varied menu and lovely service, attentive but not imposing and not rushed, I had the monkfish which was exceptional and hubby had the halibut, we had starters too and a Tour of the Pier which was great fun although very sweet - not a criticism but just beware.....
We both said we would definitely go back and the blankets provided outside if it gets chilly are very welcomed.
Had a really lovely time, thank you.
The Salt Room doesn't disappoint. Great seafood served in relaxed but elegant surroundings.
We are a family of 4 with young kids. It was ok.
Had a lovely evening with friends and family. Good food and excellent service.
Incredible dishes with an amazing view. Highly recommended for anyone who loves seafood. Only suggestion is for better disability access - the front doors where extremely heavy to get through.
An early mistake with our order was rectified immediately and graciously.
Our waiter Ross was very attentive, professional and warm as were the other members of the team, most importantly the fish was superb, presented and cooked perfectly which is no small feat with a full terrace on a busy Saturday lunch. Really worth trying the Basque wine also, all in all a lovely and memorable afternoon well spent, a “must do” in Brighton.
Food & service were exceptional as always, Aga was very informative & looked after us fabulously. Thank you.
Shan’t be coming back. Food was mediocre, tables were sticky and first bottle of wine ( which was changed foc. ) was not very palatable . We mentioned our dissatisfaction to the staff who were sympathetic and agreed that the decor was shabby made no comment on the food and were very obliging in changing the wine . For the price I would have expected a far better meals. Probably the worst we have had in Brighton
Good seafood. The seafood platter was fresh and delicious. It was the second time we came. The steak last time was really good but this time was a let down, lots of tendons! Interestingly though there is no lobster in the platter nor the menu at all. Desserts were good too. Nice presentation, nice to the eyes and to the taste buds.
The only thing I can say which weren’t to my taste were the chips, bit chunky but other than that superb
Brilliant food and excellent professional service from our waiter Silvester, would recommend dining there to anyone.
A very good restaurant, great food/service and top location.
Not sure it justifies its prices to be honest. Food was not cold enough to complain but not really hot either. I didn't find it particularly inspiring
