Absolutely outstanding in every way. We were staying at The Grand and decided to eat here on our first night in Brighton as it was next door. Food choices good and interesting blend of flavours. Fantastic steak, perfectly cooked. Great service. Not too noisy. We ate at The Grand the following night and it was very poor in comparison in all respects to this great restaurant. Would highly recommend.

The food was ok but way to expensive, £12 for one scallop. My wife had potatoes with her main course which were just boiled and with some herbs on. I've eaton in way better restaurant which are no where near as expensive.

I scored it pretty well but to be honest it was very noisy, which is fine but our male waiter was talking so fast and with his dialect and the noise we couldn't understand a word he was saying so we gave up. I had to laugh as I think a lot of these types of restaurants never see to do the simple things and try to be different how they present the table , which in this case was little rolled up towels with boiling water poured over by the waiter, to clean your hands. we asked for vinegar and out came the Sarsens vinegar bottle, even my local Chippy decants the vinegar- but you cant beat a bit of sarsens

Enjoyed a post-Valentines date night here with my partner. Beautiful setting with tasteful decor. Lovely terrace that I definitely want to try out in the summer months.
Food was excellent. Interesting menu choices and inspired use of flavours (a hint of the sea comes through many of the dishes).

Service was prompt, efficient and friendly.
Only minor comments: side dishes came out a bit after the mains and I don’t like the “service charge included” approach, but otherwise couldn’t fault.

Stunning food. Very expensive, but worth the money if it's a real one-off special event or celebration.

Nicest meal I have had in a long time. The whole meal was flawless, but the standout star for me is the beef cheek. Front of house was welcoming, cocktail bar guy really knew his stuff and our waiter was just great, friendly, efficient, fun. Food came out quickly but we never had the impression we were being hurried. I cannot wait to go back.

Visited early on a Friday evening before attending an event at The Brighton Centre as it is only a minute walk away so excellent location along the sea front. Had the scallops and the halibut which were both excellent. Nice friendly staff. I will certainly visit again when I’m next in Brighton and I highly recommend.

I booked for Valantines Day, somewhere a bit different.
The set menu was amazing, we enjoyed it very much as we both love seafood. The Monkfish was to die for.
Service was great too!
Excellent evening thank you.

I’ve been to salt room a couple of times and always had a great meal. Everything was fine and as expected from a high class restaurant, there’s just a couple of things that we weren’t happy with.
The soiloin steak was very tough and about a third of it was inedible... I didn’t complain at the time as I was on a 1st date and didn’t want to make a fuss on valentines night.
We also both felt a bit rushed and out the door very quickly. £175 later and I still drove home under the limit.
I will return again hopefully to have a better experience.

We had the seafood platter for £50 which we did not feel was value for money. The squid was extremely tough which we complained about at the time and got free chocolates. The seafood was ultimately below par for a restaurant with this reputation. We will not be returning!

The service was good.

A lovely evening overall but disappointed with the GF options. All the options ordered as GF simply had that part of the dish removed and nothing added in its place or any other adjustments, but the same price. The GF bread was poor and the meagre slice produced was laughable.

The non adjusted meals were good, wine overly pricey with only one very expensive Prosecco on the list, how about a little choice ?

Having been several times before, I am not sure about a return visit.

I celebrated my birthday with my family and always wanted to go to the Salt Room as I have heard good things about the seafood. Glad we went! It totally exceeded our expectations. We where a group of 5 people and given the perfect table for us, where we felt having a good space for our selfs. The service was top brilliant! We like to go out 'posh' for special occasions but never had we experienced the fish being sliced and served at the table. Staff obviously were very well trained! Everything went smoothly, the waiter was totally tuned in with us and our wishes, something arrived late, we did not had to pay for it, nothing was a problem. The food was outstanding delicious. The house white wine a perfect much! Altogether it was a worthwhile dinning experience and will be a beautiful memory for all of us. Thank you.
