2 out of 4 meals were cold and bad customer service from the manager
We had the three course set menu, everything was nice, except the lettuce in my starter which was brown around the edges ! Drinks were quite expensive as well, otherwise good value for money.
it was in the process of closing for a refit. the food was not up to its normal standard
Birthday lunch was a real letdown. Poor boil in the bag type food and very poor quality thick black coffee.
We will not be returning.
Service was good but the main course was bad. Ribeye steaks were supposed to be cooked medium but were served up over well done. In fact they were burnt and crispy. Rump steaks were a poor cut and were full of grissel. However a reduction in the bill was an acceptable form of compensation. Cutlery was dirty and even the replacement cutlery had to be replaced because that was also dirty.
On a positive note the waitres was a credit to the management and coped well under the circumstances.
Party of six will not be going back.
Wanted to eat with the family and be able to bring the baby in his pushchair it was lovely that we could all eat together with space around the table
The food was gorgeous, really lovely surroundings and the service was very attentive even though the team were clearly busy. Would highly recommend!
Had a great meal in lovely setting and really good service
The Sandpiper was fine but they had to squeeze the 5 seats in because unfortunately the booking from Open Table was never received by them. This could have turned embarrassing because it was Mothers Day and two mums were present.
The standered of the food was excellent, however two of the meals were light on the quantity !
the service was very poor due to under staffing as the young girl was running around doing everything by herself. This led to long delays at the table .My dad whome we took out as a treat for my parents is a diabetic so he was getting very agitated. And we had to reassure him that the food would arrive soon.
Restaurant had no record of our booking, even though we had proof. The fish was inedible; my knife could not cut through it. Very disappointing evening. The Sandpiper has deteriorated greatly since my last visit; there will definitely not be a return visit!
I ordered the spinach soup followed by ciabatta ham and mustard sandwiches
Soup was cold and sent back to be served warm, the sandwich was the worst I've ever experienced ever had bland white bread fatty ham and awful grainy mustard. When asked how was the food and I told them disappointing- the staff shuffled and didn't know what to say - as they were just kids I left it. Won't return for this reason only
