Very welcoming and accommodating team
Felt safe, warm and well fed
The Crowne Plaza have made a nice job of creating a secret garden on the patio behind the hotel. It was busy with almost every table taken by 2pm but the staff coped well,
Great quick meal with hubby and 5 year old daughter. Great cocktails and loved the DJ. Wish we could’ve stayed longer - both me and hubby going back with friends (minus child!) pretended we were on holiday!
We were welcomed by the sweet waiters and they provided for our every need. They even gave me a blanket and some cushions and one was even kind to throw in a bed because it was a hotel loool pun intended. But all in all 10-10.
Drinks were lovely and food was just tantalising
Beautiful surroundings, lovelt food. Great customer service. Luckily it was a clear night. Only criticism would be not enough heaters, but they did offer blankets.
Fantastic night with Live music had previously seen the group before playing in the hotel, re visited the secret garden after trying it out last week when the Dj was playing, the staff was very accommodating and friendly the guy who we got his name tonight Marcuin as he was excellent couldnt do enough for you and the lady with the glasses brown hair appologies didnt fet your name really lovely people.
That we have rebooked for next week and cant wait, the ambiance is lovely and truely a great night out!
Highly recommended if your lookjng for a great night, fantastic food and very polite and friendly staff.
Great place nice food friendly staff and great live music
The Secret Garden had great availability for a Friday night when we made the booking, which made us worry that it wasn't going to be very good but we were very pleasantly surprised by how brilliant it was. We were sat on the lower level where the heaters were very good. They had blankets ready for anyone that was feeling the cold a bit more. The service was fantastic and we ordered pizzas which were delicious. When our 1hr 30min slot was up, the staff went out of their way to find another table for us, so that we could continue to enjoy more drinks. There was a band playing whilst we had dinner and it was amazing to hear live music again. We will definitely be going back and will recommend to friends and family.
We had been seated for an hour before someone came to give us a QR code and tell us how to order, before this we had already gone to ask for someone to either take our order or tell us how to twice. Once we had placed our order it too another 20 mins for the drinks to come. Once finishing our starters the plates were not taken until the mains were brought out. The service overall was shocking and the food was average, the setting however was lovely, thankfully the company was good around the table
I was really disappointed with the service I recieved. Me and my friends waited over an hour and a half for our order. None of the staff was updating on the delay until we asked.
We were not informed we could order food from the app which was different from the set menu which was only the Sunday roast option eve though they were aware my friend had a gluten allergy and the set menu was limited which meant he could only order starters and a dessert. When we requested the bill because we had waited so long without reviewing our order there were no apologies for delay. We sat at outdoors due to the covid restrictions, we were not offered blankets to keep warm.
Very diss appointed at how we were treated one the day. In all honesty this is the worst dining experience I have ever had.
Fantastic place, great ambience and can’t wait to return. Service was excellent and food was of a high standard. As it’s outdoors was very cold..the heaters and blankets were provided but better to be prepared and wrap up warm! I will be back in the sunnier days
We came in at 10:15 thinking it would close after 11:15 at least or around 11:30 because there was a last booking option of 11:15, but found out when we got there it closes at 11. The staff was still very kind tho and the place was really a vibe
Avoid this place!!
There are only a few tables covered. They hardly have any heaters. Drinks took over 50 mins. Pizza came out and was still dough. Rude staff. Over priced.
Very good place good DJ outside and food was lovely and the fire lamps was sweet
It was a great experience but a little cold so would suggest to take a coat and dress appropriately for the weather
First evening out and whilst it was cold (not anyone’s fault) you are required to use an IHG app to order food and drink which is so frustrating. Took us 40 mins to register all your details and order for staff bring you that one beer you wanted...ruined the experience in truth and staff themselves looked frustrated by it
We made a booking on the Terrace having seen them post about the new area open and all of our regular venues being fully booked.
The Terrace setting is lovely, it has been done well and has a nice feel to it but the place was dead and just had no atmosphere at all. Online they stated that they were fully booked on this date but tables were only at about a 25% capacity. I wouldn't rush back
Service was excellent. The main guy was very accommodating to our dietary requirements and checking what we could eat on the menu and adapting where applicable.
Very helpful staff who were friendly and accommodating, asking chef to get food faster because of work shift.
Food May be a little overpriced but expected as it’s a hotel restaurant but was really tasty. Nice starters and pizza.
Was nice to be out! The heating could have been a bit better but they provided blankets so not too bad. My burger was OK but my wife's steak was nice.
Need staff that know what there doing and more staff! Was left waiting 45 mins for table as staff were scared to tell people on our table that time was up!! Heating was not working as advised it had all blown so was very cold! Not great service but nice to be out
The staff are very good and friendly
Considering our bill came to over £75, we were told after an hour and half of being there that we should of only had the table for an hour? No mention of this upon booking or arrival?
Lovely and Christmassy, band were fab. Food was ok a little overpriced for what it was. Overall such a lovely evening!
We have been twice now and neither experience was as good as they could/should have been. The tipi is lovely, we went at halloween and last week when it was christmassy. Decorations were fab and they do their best to make it warm with heaters/fire etc. It's a lovely set up. They need more staff training in there, one man was great but everyone else seems like they don't want to be there or serve you, and they also don't seem to know anything about the food options/special offers.
The ribs the first time were the size of a gerbil. The pizzas are the nicest thing we tried but they are nothing special. All the food is very overpriced for what it is.
Also £6 for a very small mulled wine which was not as nice as the mulled wine I had earlier that day for free at a garden center!
It's crazy because this place has so, so much potential but it is just not fulfilling.
It could be so good! It just needs a bit of umph. We went for Oktoberfest and had to ask for the big German glasses. There were lots missing from the food menu. 2 beers we asked for weren’t available. The music would run out and there would be nothing on until someone turned it on again. You need to think about pictures on social media and theme it a bit more. You’ve got all the tools there it just needs someone with a bit of imagination running it
It was ok, maybe they could of offered a dessert of Apple streusel or Black Forest gateau and the bratwurst could have come with chips and curry sauce. Wasn’t that warm really out there which wasn’t in their control. Good offer on beer and food package but wine overpriced, more Eurovision music than octoberfest. Would I go again no.
No table when we arrived after we had been told to book online in order to get a table. Was told to wait on a bean bag. I was wearing a very nice dress this wasn’t appropriate
We booked a table for 8:30 to be told when we arrived that there wasn’t any for us and we would have to wait.we waited another 15 mins with no seat so left.
Great fun, I would definitely go back again, thanks
The venue is lovely - love the tent set up with fires and heaters.
Had a 7:30 booking and had no table when I arrived. Waited about 45 minutes before I was seated, but able to stand at a pub table while I waited. There were NO German beers and only 2 German pretzels left when I finally got to order (no one took my food or drink order until I was seated at a table). The pizza was really good but the pretzel had no salt and came with no mustard to dip.
Disappointed overall, but at least it was a last night out with friends before lockdown. I think, with a few tweaks, this could be a successful event.
Very poorly organized and run. Not sure why they took bookings on Open Table? When we arrived on time for our booking at 7:30 PM on Friday night, we were told we would have to wait as they had no tables. They wanted to take us inside the hotel to the bar t wait for when our table would be ready. We had 2 bookings for 6 tables each and we both had to wait. Seems they were not limiting times for each table booked. There was no German beer to be had at Octoberfest. Slow service. Would not attend this again.
It’s advertised as a German beer festival, but no German beer on offer, it also said cocktails are available, but no cocktails available they said they don’t offer them. The only fire pit was roped off and was of sole use for the staff. I booked a table for 7.45 on arrival I was informed they were closing in 45 mins. Don’t bother going.
Had a fantastic couple of hours in the tipi, enjoyed by all the family. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, my granddaughter loved the Halloween cake and goody bag she was given. Lovely fire pit and decor! What a great idea was just so nice to go somewhere different for a change ...
We visited the Tipi for oktoberfest, unfortunately it had no bearing on the German ockoberfest. I wasn't aware of any german beer being available, there was a nod to german food with a pretzel and bratwurst. The music was general background pop music when I had expected the odd ompah ompah.
Our table was not available when we arrived but there were lovely cushioned seats around open fires which we decided to use whilst we waited. Unfortunately they must have been left out all night as they were soaked. The man in charge was was helpful and took us through to the main bar to wait which was only about 10mins.
Overall I liked the idea and with some additions it could have been a much better experience. The halloween bags for the children were a nice extra.
whilst i appreciate the current covid situation makes things challenging i would have expected an Oktoberfest to include at least one German beer on the menu, and certainly a stout should not be chilled ! , open fires were nice and sausages were tasty but the drink choice let down the whole experience,
We were really looking forward to the Oktoberfest tipi but from the moment we arrived it was a disaster
We were not greeted on arrival just asked what we wanted to drink and not even shown to a table so we’re left outside
We were not told anything about the food etc and When I asked what the afternoon was going to be like waiter said he didn’t know !
No ambiance - we expected German oompa music and jugs of beer being served by people in costumes as per the theme
It was freezing cold the fire was where the staff were and we could not go near it
Overall extremely disappointing and I have cancelled all other current bookings
We left after an hour
We visited the Oktoberfest
The beers we tried were fabulous. Our favourite was 1269 which was absolutely brilliant. We want to visit again just for this beer.
We didn’t have any food so couldn’t rate that.
Tables weren't sanitised between sittings. We witnessed the same table sitting three separate parties without being cleaned. A couple got up to have a cigarette and came back to find another party seated on their table (again without being sanitised). Flat beer (had to send it back). No authentic German beer on offer
