The Shanty Restaurant
The Shanty offers rustic appeal with great-tasting food. It is the ideal spot for a quick midday bite or relaxing dinner with friends. Live music on the weekends ensures an entertaining experience. The Shanty's building was reconstructed in 2010 with reclaimed barn wood from the area. The restaurant was also featured on the hit show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, as well as numerous other outlets, such as Food Network's "Let's Dish", NBC's "Around Town" and ABC's "Windy City".
With an continuously evolving menu of customer-inspired dishes, The Shanty aims to please their guests. A top favorite is the whiskey shrimp appetizer, which includes fresh jumbo shrimp in The Shanty's signature Jack Daniels cream sauce. Another hit is the tequila and orange grilled salmon.

Went for oyster night! It was delicious, or server was friendly and they have taken many safety precautions. Highly recommend you try the sriracha lime oysters!!
We finally went to The Shanty for oyster night and we were not disappointed!!! We shared both Oysters Rockefeller and the raw oysters. Very fresh, very tasty. We ordered the Blackened Conch Filet and Chicken Vesuvio. Both entrees were amazing. Drinks are always good and the service from the greeter, bartenders, servers and the wait staff is impeccable. The Shanty never disappoints!
Good food, great service, really nice atmosphere. The huge trussed beams look amazing and give the new bar area a nice open feeling. 😊
Oysters Rockefeller appeared to be microwaved. Cowboy steak was cooked wrong twice. Our server was awesome.

Food was wonderful, as always. Good to see that it was busy. However I asked for a table in the dining room due to the noise level in the bar. Due to our ages and hearing, it was difficult to converse

Food was good, service for dinner was good. The bar service took just a little too long but it was prime time on a Friday night so I guess to be expected.
The food and service were excellent. The menu was extensive and offered a wide variety of choices. I would highly recommend the Shanty.

We went there for As Wednesday and my son's comparison of O'Toole's impossible burger tasted much better than the Arugula burger offered by Shanty. Otherwise, everything else is very good.

We had a wonderful time! We were given a quiet corner table on the original side! Very sweet of them to honor my special requests! Food was perfect! Lobster bisque, lobster tail and filet cooked to perfection!

Highly recommend. Menu is varied, with choices you won't normally find elsewhere. While also offering your typical chicken, steaks, your choice of pasta etc. Portion are large. Taste spectacular. Our service was just right, not to much checking in, not too little. If you haven't been here you need to go.
