Great food, even bettter service. Garden with streams made the perfect setting for lunch in the Sun
Great food, wonderful location and good service. Enough said
Absolutely stunning setting, drinks and food. Loved it, will be back very soon!
Always a treat to come to the Shepherd and Dog. All tables were outside as it was such a gorgeous day. Our waitress was great - always there when you needed her!
Car park is always the only issue so travel in as few cars as possible!
We sat outside which is really nice in the garden with the stream nearby. The food was excellent although I would have appreciated some salad with my halloumi burger. Others had the pie which was great. Service excellent.
Lovely restaurant in beautiful setting. Polite and helpful staff and food was very good. Would recommend
Good food, lovely location. Staff were great too.
The vegetarian choice was only quinoa cakes, which were not very good.
Vegan choice only one light meal, no main x I don’t like to much bread but the only vegan meal was with bread and would be worth less without it. I tried to pre check choices online but menu is unavailable
Shepherd and Dog is over-pricing. The steak was acceptable but too small for the price. If you ask for rare, you expect rare. Did not get that. Totally edible, but I felt short-changed. Further, the mark up on average wines is disgraceful; you don't want to spend £24 on a bottle of Sicilian plonk you can pick up easily for a tenner. BE careful! is my advice. It's such a lovely place to have dinner and the young attractive staff make it a pleasure to be there.
Fantastic as ever! Very good service from really courteous staff. A lovely environment, beautiful gardens and views, great menu, all the food is delicious. They clearly care about sourcing good quality and very tasty ingredients. The menu is creative and diverse. Lovely walks nearby, and great beer garden with lovely stream. Couldn't recommend more highly!
our first visit to this lovely pub.We will return ASAP.
Beautiful location. Staff were flexible in terms of seating us where we wanted. Good food as always. Thank you
First time dining at the Shepherd and Dog and I can’t wait to go back! Perfect Sunday roast in the sunshine and brilliant service.
Fantastic roast, perfect garden setting can’t wait to return, thank you Shepherd and dog
Lovely garden and great beer selection, enjoyed both pale ales on tap.
The roast was top quality, very impressed. The service was very good with helpful and friendly staff - nothing seemed to much trouble.
The garden setting was lovely and a very chilled atmosphere.
Good food, friendly staff, and quick service. Would recommend.
As always awesome! And beer garden was great place to eat.
Absolutely beautiful pub garden. Service so slick and friendly.
The children’s play area and stream just make this a most magical place..
Will be coming back soon.
A lovely setting, good atmosphere, staff very attentive, brilliant
Good food, good service and a beautiful garden - what’s not to like! 😀😀
Fantastic pub with great food and a lovely outdoor seating arrangement.
The main problem was we booked for a table of 6 outside but given a bench table which was really for 4 max. Made it uncomfortable. Foid good but service a little slow.
A well-run pub with delicious food. The hand cut chips are great and the trout was lovely! Nice outside area too!
Really lovely service and excellent food. Imaginatively and deliciously prepared. Very pretty pub and location. Well worth the visit!
We ate outside on a beautiful day, and it was absolutely lovely. I took my 90 year old mother who walks with a stick. There are quite a few steps up into the garden, but she managed fine. Just something to note if you have anyone disabled in your group. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The setting is stunning. Highly recommended.
Lovely garden dining. Very friendly staff. Efficiently organised during these Covid restrictions so felt very safe.
excellent food in lovely setting - highly recommended
We booked here for my son's 30th birthday and found the quality of food excellent and the staff very efficient and friendly. It was a very enjoyable evening and would certainly return.
We had a great experience - the staff were super friendly and the kids menu was really well done with the tapas sized plate selections which they loved! We'll keep this one between ourselves so we get a table next time we come! ;oP Shhh
beautiful setting in a lovely part of the world , nice food as well
The perfect spot for a bank holiday lunch after a good walk. Pretty beer garden by a stream, attractive interior, a cut above average pub food and friendly and efficient staff. It clearly gets busy so probably best to book. The only slight downside was that the kids menu is aimed at very little children but still would recommend this pub.
Excellent, very friendly good food and good service
will certainly return
Very good food, not huge menu but what they do they do really well. We were there Sunday lunchtime and had to wait an hour for our food to come, but it was worth the wait. Good beer, nice helpful staff.
Love this pub, the food is spectacular and I always love the selection of beers/ciders.
Outstanding customer service and attention to detail. All the staff were incredibly good humoured on such a hot, busy day and no ask was too great.
Stunning setting with a gorgeous garden and food was divine.
Can't wait to come back!
Gorgeous garden and tasty food. Normally always a good selection of craft beer
The best roast dinner I've ever eaten out. Service was excellent even though they were really busy.
Excellent roast, clearly a chef who cares is in the kitchen putting out good food. Can't fault the food, best in class. Good pint of Bitter. Lady's Aperol Spritz was passable but lacking prosecco. Gravy and potatoes superb.
Table service was slightly lacking but nothing tragic. Our table had no cutlery or umbrella for shade and we had to ask for everything. Not a problem but would be next level if table staff were slightly more attentive.
We will be back.
