Beautiful atmosphere and beautiful ambiance. Food was very good. I recommend the prime rib. Nice portions too.

I had salmon and it was cooked perfectly. It also was seasoned and tasted so good.

The menu was limited but excellent food and service.

My pasta creme sauce was so spicy hot, like the cook put extra cayenne pepper on it, couldn’t eat it. Either could my friend that had the same thing, waitress didn’t ask if we wanted something else!

This was my first time at the Sherwood Inn at the recommendation of my Aunt/Uncle. They are regulars and go there weekly. We were celebrating my Aunt's 85th birthday. They were very accommodating and giving us a seat at the window so we had a view of the lake. The ambiance was perfect! I can image that it is very lovely at night as well. We went for Saturday lunch.
Food was above average.

People seated after us and ordered after us got food before us. Also chicken and rice soup had not one kernel of rice although soup without rice was tasty. Chicken in chicken sandwich was tough. Pot roast was excellent. All in all disappointed especially since this was for 48yr anniversary

They were out of 1/2 the items on menu. We were not told until we were ordering. Very dim lighting. Couldn’t see menu well. Had Reuben. It was horrible. Asked for potatoes rather than German pot salad. They put them atop my Reuben. Who would do that. Told changing menu over so that’s why they were out of items. Bad experience for people with us on first visit.

We went to the Sherwood for my wife’s birthday. The food was excellent and we were seated at the front of the restaurant with a gorgeous view of the lake.

The markdowns on service are for:
1. Even though we checked in and told the hostess that we had a reservation we still got marked in Opentable as having no-showed. That was annoying and mildly offensive.
2. Main courses came out before we were done with our starters
3. Servers started cleaning plates before everyone was finished eating

Beautiful dining room in 200+ yr old building. The Dover sole is probably not the best choice here, but salads and other dishes looked great.

Fantastic as usual. Love this place. Feels really quaint and cozy. Service is good and the food is better. Highly recommend it for a romantic evening.

Lovely old inn right on the lake shore . Hearty tavern fare.

All was very good from wine and cocktails, through salads (wedge, caesar), main courses (delmonico steak special, scrod Christopher) and desserts (triberry tart, roll house pie). Could not have been a better experience for a major wife's birthday!
