Choose to dine in an old-fashioned bar with a nautical theme and crackling fire, bright conservatory or atmospheric dining room with scrubbed tables and fresh flowers. If you are a food loving sun-seeker take a seat amongst the cluster of fruit trees in our spacious beer garden or in the sheltered courtyard for some of the best al fresco dining on the Suffolk coast.

Good pub food at reasonable prices. Good portion sizes. Haddock rarebit and scotch eggs particularly good. Service was very friendly and helpful. Never felt that we were rushed but did not have to wait long for food to be served. Draught beers in excellent condition.

Not very welcoming, one order had a hair on plate and roast dinner had hardly any gravy. No staff came over to check everything was ok so was unable to ask for some. Wouldn’t have minded as much but the meals are not cheap. Won’t be going again.

We have dined at the Ship over many years, and always enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and excellent food. Our meal on Saturday lived up to expectations, with a small but excellent choice of dishes, all very good. A visit to the Ship is an essential part of any visit to this lovely village.

A pub with very good feel -ambience & character - in a small village with lots of history. Food is excellent with some good fish dishes at lunch time. The conservatory is nice place to eat with lots of light & when warm weather there is a covered area and a very atmospheric garden

Lovely food, especially the fish pie. The staff were very welcoming and great with my children. Lots of space and very clean. I’d highly recommend trying this pub.

A great pub with lovely, helpful staff. We had Scotch Eggs by the fire with Adnams. Dog friendly, including sausages for them both. Just off a fabulous beach.

Food and service was fantastic. Unfortunately we were seated in the glass extension backing on to the outside and there was a draught through the windows which resulted in us getting quite cold which was a shame.

Perfect winter dining spot: atmosphere; log fire; buzzing but peaceful; great village location and historic; wonderful Sunday roast.
