Great pub food and welcome
Well done everyone at the ship
Great selection of vegetarian food and very tasty
Really spacious garden and incredible food! Set in a beautiful location, we would highly recommend.
Lovely food and nice and sheltered outside under cover.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Visited in April 2021 and had a delicious lunch in the garden. Always judge a place by their chips - and they were perfect! I had the crab salad as well which was divine. Tables very spaced out and all very covid safe.
Superb lunch out
Couldn't fault it
Even the views and garden
We'll be back.......
Great food in a lovely garden. Tucked under a patio heater in the marquee, we had a fab evening out!
Really nice pub garden
Service was good and so were the menu options. It is my first time visiting and I shall attend again.
Good food and great service in a lovely location. We sat in the garden and it was bliss!
Great food, very efficient service using the Hopt app - nice garden area
We had a wonderful time here, the food and the service were great-we will definitely be back! Thanks for such a lovely experience :)
The Ship is consistently brilliant - food, atmosphere and service are all top notch. Couldn't recommend more highly. The locally sourced, carefully thought through menu makes such a welcome change from the cookie cutter unoriginal gastro pub menus. Everything we ordered was delicious.
A Birthday celebration lunch that was enhanced by the glorious weather and the Ship Inn. The food was very good and the staff ensured we had a a great time even with the lock down restrictions.
The electronic ordering system put in place was simple to use and all but eliminated any interaction. The ad hoc drinks orders were responded to very quickly.
The quality of the food was outstanding and we will definitely be going back.
Loved our visit - beautiful garden, lovely food and excellent service - thank you!
Food was delicious and the staff were incredibly helpful. It was our first visit and we all really enjoyed our meals. Will definitely return.
Only minor point was ordering via an app which was so-so, couldn’t ask questions & not all the message made it through to the kitchen, but the staff were great & answered all our questions & really looked after us.
Lovely outdoor setting and good food.
Staff and Food were excellent
Lovely outdoor area. Great for families. Excellent food.
Nice food, Lovely pub garden in a pretty village.
Given the restrictions of the day . This was fantastic . Like having a private dinner party without the work , Excellent service andfood varied menue to suit everyone .
Well done the Ship
Great as always. Excellent food and service, can’t fault
In amongst all the challenges of Covid the whole experience was superb
2nd time there and didn’t disappoint
Good food, well catered for vegetarians.
Good service and definitely would come again.
Excellent meal with very good service. Would definitely recommend.
Delicious food and great service
Visited for dinner on Saturday night with husband, son and girlfriend. All very Covid safe with spaced tables, sanitiser and masks and a one-way system. Great choice on the menu and so much home-made and locally sourced food. Home made garlic mayo was fabulous and loved the home-made ice cream. Food was delicious. Beautifully presented and good portion size. Particularly enjoyed the chef's specials. Good service, meal came quickly and staff were attentive. We had a really enjoyable evening and also very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
In spite of covid arrangements the atmosphere was cosy with enough people present to feel companiable if not intimate. The menu was extensive the food well cooked presented and served including a pie to die for. We were away for a short break and probably wont return but not having eaten out for ages it was a highlight of the weekend.
Enjoyed it and staff all wearing PPE made us feel at ease. All tables spread out and food was so great! Really enjoyed it would go back again !
Some of the food was all a bit stale and old. (Veggie burger bun and mussels in the bouillabaisse). The panna cotta desserts were almost as solid as a rubber ball. The sorbet was lovely though.
Shame - as normally food is excellent.
Great food for lunch, kind and knowledgable staff/owners. Very enjoyable
A must for an evening dinner. Lovely old pub, we were welcomed warmly and shown to our table. Fantastic menu with a variety of dishes. We had a starter and main and it was all delicious and well presented. Staff were attentive and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Lovely.
Beautiful pub and great gardens where we ate.
Service friendly and relaxed.
My pork belly was perfect.
Flavours were great.
Burger was a little dry sadly.
Triple cooked chips to die for.
Definitely go again soon
Fabulous service from young staff. Fantastic food and a great setting. Garden is beautiful!
Table was over half an hour late, no staff around, food was slow to come out, and they forgot to mention they had a live music event in the garden which lasted for hours
Super pub, good food and friendly staff and booking worked really well.
Set in a very picturesque village. The food is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Very welcoming to dogs too.
The staff are very attentive and even turned down a loudspeaker adjacent to our table without being asked.
In light of the very positive experience that we had, I find it strange to see some reviews at the opposite end of the scale.
Lovely old pub with a nice big garden and play equipment for younger children. Staff wore masks so we felt safe and the food was all yummy inc children's menu. Washrooms nice and clean. Beautiful location.
Opentable reservation hadn't been received by the staff. Oops. But a nice table was found so no probs.
Maybe phone booking advisable...
