Went there on recommendation of the bed and breakfast we were staying at nearby. Welcoming staff Attentive and friendly. Food quickly delivered without feeling rushed. Well cooked and decent portions. Good value and a bonus as the pub is dog friendly. A bonus socialising my young puppy. Would recommend

Stopped by for Sunday lunch on the 10/4/22. Lovely greeting and sat down quickly . Service great , food beautiful the only thing that let it down slightly was a dirty table . Would visit again

This was my first visit to The Smiths for over 50years.as I live out of the area, it was suggested as a possible venue to meet up with family. I was very pleased with welcome received, the friendliness of the staff, a very comprehensive menu selection and the food was nice and hot when delivered to the table and very tasty. I would definitely visit again

Took my parents on Friday night. Probably the nicest food we have had in the area! Starters Cockles & Laverbread was so tasty best have tasted! Sea Bass fillets were lovely with buttery mash, my mum had the Beef Strogonoff made with sirloin, It was outstanding with the creamy sauce & home made Chips and my dad had the Lamb Shank it was big with plenty of meat falling off the bone. Desserts were delicious ! Service was great Book now you won't be disappointed!

A friendly pub, both staff and clientele! Quite busy with some largish groups in situ, but service was quick, friendly and efficient. Food was delicious for both of us. I had an exquisite beef stroganoff and my wife had there beer-battered fish and chips which she found to be most toothsome. Much fuss was made of our hound too in this dog-friendly establishment.

Although we have eaten here many times our table in the restaurant was not ready so we were seated in the bar, we found this crowded and noisy. Next time we will decline a table in the bar. Saying that the food could not be faulted.

Definitely the best cottage pie I’ve ever tasted. We are soon moving to the area, and The Smiths was highly recommended by our estate agent, and they were spot on. Definitely our new local!

Excellent friendly service. One of our party has a small appetite so just had a starter of Welsh rarebit which was a very adequate. The rest of us had salads which were excellent. Portions were large and we had difficulty eating everything especially as we had ordered sides as well! The teriyaki sauce was delicious, too. Will definitely recommend going here for food.

Best meal had in ages!! Great menu choices, including specials board. Well stocked bar. Excellent service from friendly Landlord and amazing crew. Nice traditional pub setting with sectioned off dining. Outdoor seating for warmer days/nights. Family friendly for all occasions. We both chose steak which was perfectly cooked and came with all the trimmings. Very generous portions, so much so, we had no room for dessert! Would recommend booking as it is very popular. Would definitely return. 10 out of 10.

This was my first visit to the smiths arms stopped for Sunday lunch after visiting botanical gardens. We were not disappointed the food was plentiful and more importantly delicious, the service we received was excellent, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, will definitely be returning.

Sadly was not impressed by the food which was disappointing as it was a birthday treat! Grease was all over my plate to the point that my food was floating in a sea of oil. No place for sliced garlic on tomato when it is gammon and chips eirther. Plates are also far too big for the very small tables.

First time visiting The Smith's, we went for Sunday lunch, very nice welcome, nice little pub with a good selection of drinks. Pub was very busy but it wasn't long before we were shown to our seats. Menu very nice, good choice of meats, beef, lamb, pork and turkey. Order was taken quickly and it wasn't long before our food came, very tasty and plenty of it. Great visit and will definitely be back.

Not amazing food like other reviews said. Small portions of meat had been sat on hot plates until dry. generous portions of veg but much to hot easy to burn yourself. Paxo stuffing and granule gravy!!!!

Welsh Black no longer served, cauliflower cheese more water than cheese, plates and servicing dishes too hot to handle on small dining tables, only 2 roast potatoes served which were absolutely tiny, mash potatoes not buttery and lumpy. Sunday lunches used to be brilliant but now we will not be returning.
