   Excellent dinner. Very friendly staff that did a nice job explaining the menu. My wife and i split olives and sourdough bread as starters. We also shared Galician prime rib, cooked medium, along with the 2 sides and sauces. Probably one of the best steaks I have had.

   The entire dining experience was absolutely brilliant. From the meet and greet. Service and knowledge of menu and wines were superb. Food outstanding from start to finish. It's a must visit.

   We had a wonderful lunch yesterday for my husbands birthday and enjoyed food from the set lunch menu. MUSSELS / CHARRED CORN ON THE COB FILLET OF HAKE/ BISTEC CON PAPAS FRITAS SANTIAGO ALMOND TART x 2 With some beer and wine to drink. Both the food and service was outstanding. I would highly recommend eating here.

   We definitely will go back during the next visit to Edinburgh. The food was exceptional my wife and I had different cuts of steak. Both cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic and that's before trying 3 of there sauces which were beautiful. Can't praise them enough. Even tho I was feeling kind of full the main was that good I had to try a pudding, I can safely say it was the best sticky toffee pudding I've ever had. Top marks

   Food was good but wouldn’t say it was as good as I was expecting. We were sat in the corner and did feel we were forgotten about at certain points -mains came before we had our plates etc from our starters cleared. I had let the restaurant know it was my son’s birthday before we arrived but there was no mention at all. Service charge at 12% I paid but if it had not been my sons birthday I would have probably not paid this amount.

   Not a good experience. Wait staff came to the table and explained the menu and took order. Never saw her until the bill. No less than five people passed to drop off or pick up plates. Pork was very good. Cauliflower was under the salamander too long potatoes have been better at a motorway cafe. No warmth to the experience. The menu is difficult. The meats are listed with available weights and price per 100 kg. Most are 600 grams or better. For two it limited the offering For £148 for two with no sweet and one drink it was not a good experience. Most steak houses are expensive but side sides are generous and the service is exceptional. Our table was right next to the kitchen. We heard all the call outs and count downs throughout dinner. The pork was good but the rest fell far short.

   This is our 4th visit to the Spanish Butcher and yet again it was excellent. Every part of the experience is first class and I would highly recommend it as one of Edinburgh’s best restaurants. After sharing a few starters, we had one of the Galicia sharing cuts, outstanding. The wine list is also very good and would recommend the Rioja Reserva which they also do by the glass. We wil; definitely be back.

   Amazing warm welcome as always. Excellent Sunday roast - great value and delicious. High quality produce beautifully presented. Wonderful wine list - organic reds are top notch. Staff genuinely engaging and make the visit even more special.

    The Gaician Sunday Roast Beef was delicous! Great portion and good variety of veg. The yorkshire pudding was huge. The two/ three course set menu is great value whether it be the weekday lunch or Sunday lunch.
