Great pizza's! Best I have had in many a long year. Great service and a wonderful Landlord
Best Sunday lunch - cauliflower cheese to die for! we will be back
Great food and service - yes it is more expensive than some other local pubs in Darrington however the food offering is in a different league and therefore justifies its cost. The renovation work has transformed the pub from a tired and dreary place .
Fantastic food and service. Sunday lunch was excellent and great value. Roast beef was cooked to perfection and the lamb shank was moist and fell off the bone. There’s a great selection of beers, wine and spirits available along with superb coffee.
Really enjoyable evening with excellent food. Service was slightly slow but admittedly under staffed. Wouldn't put me off going again!
Great food, more like fine dining that a pub meal. Slightly expensive but really good food
Fab food, nice friendly atmosphere suitable for all, efficient and friendly service/staff. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to going back.
Long wait for food service. Our group did not appreciate the allegedly loud and very drunk landlord
This is the second time we have eaten here at our local pub The Spread. The mains and the desert courses were delicious and a little different and better quality than usual pub food. We will definitely be eating here again.
Friendly welcome, pleasant staff, excellent food. We had the venison was perfectly cooked, the aubergine burger was really tasty and the beer battered fish and chips was gorgeous. The sticky toffee pudding was so light and was accompanied by cinder toffee and ice cream which made it a sweet fans delight. Farmers blonde and the IPA were on the money. Keep it up and will try and get a bus load up as I was pleasantly surprised that they had a 20 seater private room for groups.
Very nice meal, everything cooked well, nice and hot. The venison was delicious and very tender. The turkey steak was a bit too rich for one guest but that was a personal opinion. Desserts to die for.
Fantastic place would definitely recommend the place for a quick drink or a sit down relaxing meal.
This is our local but was the first time we had eaten there. We went for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. There was a good choice of all 3 courses which was nice because some set menus are restrictive. The food was served promptly and nice and hot. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely recommend eating here.
Wonderful local pub, cosy and inviting. Tasty homemade food and very helpful/ friendly staff. Deffo worth a visit
Lovely atmosphere, great food, good service, great beer & wine.
Food was presented nicely and was hot when served. The menu is quite limited and almost every dish had something pickled on it (not good if you don't like pickle). Some of the menu items were expensive for what you get. I chose a steak and asked what steak was on that day. The person I asked said "I think it's sirloin". On arrival it was definately not sirloin as it had a bone in. At a guess I would say it was a rib steak. Although the steak was quite large it was very thin. By preference I would of liked a thicker smaller steak. It was tasty but not quite what I expected when I was told it would be sirloin. I would certainly go back and eat there again but it is far too expensive for basic foods to eat there regularly. Drink prices are extortionate as well. When the pub re opened I had hoped that we would be able to go more often but sadly due to the prices it is only something I would do occasionaly and not a regular thing. The pub is certainly cleaner, brighter and more welcoming than it was but has sadly outpriced itself as my local.
Enjoyed a pleasant evening, early days so room for some improvements, waiting staff need to know the menu better and a few meals were sold out. Hope that The Spread go for strength to strength and look forward to dining there again soon.
Good food, good service. cute setting.
Excellent surroundings, service and food, thanks to the team for a lovely evening.
Friendly staff, quick service, well presented and lovely food. Relaxing atmosphere
Great effort from all of those involved... recently opened, excellent food, the place is at the start of its journey and is undergoing a substantial refurb... the food is the underpin of this please... it’s not the finished article and will get better and better
We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the service was excellent and the choice for a Sunday lunch was good.
Our only problem was not being able to ring to book a table, we had to rely on open table, but everything was good on arrival.
We will certainly be revisiting soon.
This new restaurant has set a very high standard of food quality and service. This is fine dining without the usual formality. It will be hard to reserve a table when word gets around
Called for lunch with my family, landlord was very friendly and accommodating with our kids. Delicious pheasant for the main from the specials board, excellent value for the kids, and my daughter said it was the best burger she has ever had! We'll be back!
Lovley food and good value. Food well presented and prompt service.
Loved the food. Great to have the Spread back as a local and very good restaurant.
Friendly ambience, positive, helpful staff. Great choice of menu from pub classics to cuisine for foodies. Cod Cheek starter delicious. Food beautiful & served impressively, very appetising. Chefs created a sharing dessert for my birthday. It was gorgeous & served on a platter. Just loved everything & will dine there again . It may be a village pub but they know how to offer great food with panache. Met the chefs afterwards & they showed great passion , interest & their obvious knowledge & love of food.
