A lovely meal. Lovely staff. The best calamari we have ever had. We would definitely recommend this restaurant especially if you love fish.

Attentive friendly service and lovely village location. Food always enjoyable at reasonable prices including desserts. Noise levels refreshingly low too although lunchtimes may be quieter than evenings - recommended

Although the cafe was strangely quiet for a Saturday lunchtime the experience was excellent. Sadly the turbot was all finished and that was the dish that my son and husband had decided on before we arrived. Both my son and I have an allergy/intolerance to garlic and onions and that meant that the monkfish curry was not available to them either as it had already been pre-prepped. The fillet of sea bream was a bit on the small size for my husband but perfect for our daughter-in-law and they both enjoyed their meal. Our grandson had the seafood linguine which he said was lovely and my regular cod was cooked beautifully, with a very light batter. I don't normally eat any batter but this was so light that I ate most of it. The portion of chips was absolutely enormous and I found it impossible to eat all of them. Our son finally settled on the hake dish and said that it was very tasty. The service was very good and the French chef came out and spoke to the customers, which I always think is a nice touch. The ambience was slightly lacking as there were only 3 tables occupied but at least you didn't have to shout to make yourself heard . All in all a very good dining experience, thank you.

This is the third time I have eaten at the Square Fish, and was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food and drink outstanding in quality. The only cautionary advice I would give is only to have the plaice on the fish and chip menu if you have a huge appetite! It was magnificent, but almost defeated me. Bravo!

We have our Sunday lunch here often and always have a wonderful meal and the service is outstanding. Have tried most of the menu and each dish is delicious and beautifully presented. The wine choice is very good too. Top marks every time
