Never disappointed, food great, service great, no complaints
Outstanding food and great value, definitely be back again
Fantastic as always - portion sizes are generous and the quality of the food is exceptional - one of, if not the, best restaurants in the area. Well worth the short journey.
Once again a fantastic meal, freshly prepared. From arrival to departure all in all a wonderful experience. We will be back
Dinner with my partner. Really interesting menu, can tell the chef has travelled. All food very well cooked and presented. Staff were young but attentive and polite. Have already recomended to friends and family.
Probably the best overall I have ever had, the quality of the food is amazing. The menu had something for everyone. The service was on point, and the atmosphere was excellent, everyone enjoying themselves and the food. I have eaten here many times, I’ve not had a bad meal, but Friday was incredible. To Andy and the team 🙌🏻
Absolutely beautiful food with a great choice from the menu. The staff are first class & the restaurant is lovely & clean & welcoming. Parking is easy & it's very accesible for elderly folk or wheelchairs too. Their cocktail are amazing & I can't wait to return. Thanks to Andy & his team.
Absolutely beautiful food as always. It’s so fresh, creative and visually appealing every time and a huge choice to choose from.
We had a vegan meal. The cauliflower was delicious. There were lots of surprising tastes in the plates. I enjoyed it a lot.
Always very good .
Friendly young staff . Good service
Interesting menu, beautiful food, thoughtfully prepared and well presented. Good service and a good atmosphere. Looking forward to returning.
Unfortunately, unlike other occasions the service was not up to the usual standard. Based on previous experience we will try again and would recommend generally speaking.
Slight dissonance between the location, the appearance and the menu. Doesn't really look like a restaurant, perhaps more like a domestic front room. So the excellent quality of service and food comes as a lovely surprise.
It was most enjoyable.
Always a lovely atmosphere, staff are friendly and food is excellent. Many thanks
Lovely food and staff! Definitely will go back again!
Always a great experience, we are never disappointed by the food or atmosphere.
Food was delicious. Welcome was friendly. Seemed short staffed. One of the coffees was cold, but quickly remedied.
Really lovely meal. Good choice of local beers. Always a pleasure.
As usual, food was excellent. Only criticism I could make is that we seemed to get forgotten about after our mains were cleared. Evantually we had to ask to see the dessert menu! Apart from that, all good.
Enjoyed the food and the surroundings very much and the waiter Connor was friendly and attentive. Would thoroughly recommend.
Another great visit to this outstanding little restaurant. Sunday lunch at a quiet time, service started with a warm greeting and was attentive and efficient throughout. I had the scallops to start and a fantastic piece of venison for main course, one of the best venison meals I've ever had. The wife had cullen skink, confit duck leg and langoustines, small plates from the starter/tapas page of the menu. The venison was on the Specials page which has been different every visit. Good food, locally sourced but with an eastern twist, some delicate, subtle tastes.
Highly recommended venue, well worth the trip to Muchalls.
My partners Prawns were sent back as they still had the black vein running through them. We did receive and apology only to be told that these are bought in...i assumed everything was home made.
This was replaced by fried Calamari but cooked in pretty well used oil,,,did not eat
Duck started was fine
Rest of meal was fine although how 2 pieces of Monk fish on the same plate can be so different....one near enough spot on...maybe just and no more overcooked and the other was undercook but still ate.
Been here before and this time away of the mark from our previous visit...may have been a bad day but wont be in ahurray to return.
Another great night. The food was fantastic.
I’d been wanting to go to the stack for since I saw a write up on it during lockdown. The food was good and arrived quickly. Unfortunately, service let it all down. I felt that large tables took preference and smaller tables were just an annoyance. We weren’t read any of the specials unlike a large table next to us whilst we were half way through our meal and drinks service was slow.
It was a good meal but the experience put me off and I don’t think we’ll return.
Food was excellent and plentiful, excellent value for money and delicious. Restaurant was quiet but that could be due to mid week booking. We were planning our next visit during our meal.
Fantastic menu choices. Food was delicious and service was friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommend dining at The Stack m!
Amazing food but decor and lighting really need addressing to set the ambiance. Some aspects of Front of House require training, young staff doing their very best but need help to really make it the best experience.
I’ve eaten at The Stack on a number of occasions, and for good reason. The menu is excellent, the food wonderful and the staff have always been very friendly and helpful.
10/10 every time.
Had midday lunch- first visit. Really good food and service - a real find. We’ll definitely be back.
This was a celebration lunch for a friend who passed a year ago, the service was very good the food was magnificent. The cost was very reasonable, I think you might have a few more customers after our day out. Keep up the good work
The food was nice and the service very polite but what let this down massively was the time taken to service our simple table of 4. We did not have elaborate courses, we had basic starters and mains were x2 burger and x2 Scampi but it took 3.5hrs to complete our 3 course meal.
We had to fetch our own dessert menus despite asking twice, we were missing a fork in our cutlery bundle at one of our seats. Visited stack before and loved it, this time round is seemed absent of leadership and time management.
A fantastic menu choice and in particular the fish dishes. Just a little bit different with great flavours.
Food was amazing really tasty. Unfortunately table service was really bad only got one drink at the start after sitting down then never attended to bar being served food. Ended up getting the bill after our mains as our drink order wasn’t even put through and had been waiting for two courses and then a further 20 mins after we finished our main. Rather disappointed, but the food spoke for itself.
Food was excellent, great choice of local seafood and craft beers. Great service from the young lad who served us, overall an excellent local restaurant.
Staff very friendly , helpful and attentive . This is my second time at the Stack and both times the food has been superb. Also a decent bar selection. Will defiantly be going back and will recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
Great good, Great Service and lovely a atmosphere.
Everyone in our party was very impressed bi The Stack. The welcome was extremely warm, the gin choice was excellent, the staff were lovely and very helpful, and the food was outstanding. The ambience of the place was one of happiness and contentment.
We had a lovely meal in lovely surroundings. Very efficient staff. Will def be back. Cocktails were excellent
Lovely lunch at the Stack - my partner said the mussels were the "best I've ever had". Great selection of options, difficult to choose between them, so we have booked to go again for our birthdays !
