The overall experience of the afternoon tea was great. Flavor was good and the quantity was a plus. Cakes were delicious and beautiful. The Stage was more like a lobby lounge at the entrance, so it wasn’t as quite as other places for afternoon tea (or maybe it was because our reservation was at 4:30 which is a bit late for afternoon tea) but the ambiance was great anyway. Would recommend!
I went to The Stage at the Londoner Hotel on New Year’s Day after a five star meal at the restaurant The Whitford, was really looking forward to finishing an excellent evening with a few glasses of Champagne, and great live music; however I was disappointed on both. Firstly was going to order a bottle of Bollinger but none was in stock, (the second 5 star hotel I visited in a week to have run out!) Luckily, your very helpful waitress let us sample a few alternatives before we settled on an acceptable alternative. The second issue was the live music, which was poor; to be honest it would have been better to play a cd over the speakers to create a better and more exciting atmosphere and ambience. I noticed many people leaving after 20 minutes of this; we also left earlier than planned.
I hope the live music selection gets better and becomes a ‘go to’ venue as your hotel has a lot of potential and I was hoping to book a stay for New Year Eve or over Christmas in the future.
It was outstanding, the food, the environment and the staff! An amazing breakfast that I will give 100/10 to, my compliments to the chef. I checked out the rooms here and I will definitely be staying here soon and it’s not just for the amazing service and food! The building is brand new, all I’m going to say is, if you’re not gonna go for food or to stay, just check it out, Marvellous!!!!
The Stage is a interesting and modern setting for afternoon tea. There was a preformance of songs from musical theatre for an hour which was very good if quite loud. The food was fair, with the patisseries being the star of the show (forgive the pun!) The sandwiches were tasty but the bread was going a bit dry. Very good scones, but need to be served with more clotted cream. Unfortunately the tea was not served properly with one pot "stewed" and nearly cold and no hot water served to top up. The service was very friendly and helpful if a little slow.
Traditional Afternoon Tea (Act Two) in a modern boutique hotel was absolutely fabulous.
The options to just have tea or add champagne was wonderful
The sandwiches delightful and personally only missing on being excellent due to the thickness of bread used on some
The scones - light and fluffy- and clotted cream, strawberry preserves and bergamot curd were excellent and a close 2nd to dessert/patisseries
The dessert/patisseries were visually stunning and then burst with flavor
All served by attentive and caring staff - thank you all
Afternoon tea - was expensive and the sandwiches were hard. Had the potential to be lovely but plates didn’t fit stands and sandwiches poor quality. Overall try Ritz instead for these prices.
Lovely afternoon tea at the Stage, staff were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. Cocktails delicious and don’t get me started on the handmade cakes, heavenly! Can’t wait to go back, an oasis in busy Leicester square.
Great first outing here but thought the menu was to small and not enough choices. The portions was also small.
Exceptional, we were made to feel very special so well looked after the food was fabulous and couldn't have wished for a more wonderful afternoon. The pianist was beautiful and we were in no way rushed at all. I would most definitely recommend and hope to be back soon myself.
