An amazing meal for 4 people & 2 people are vegans. Great choice & fanbilous service
Great service and lovely atmosphere Staff are always good here
I ate in the bar area as I was dining alone and wanted a pub atmosphere.
The server was very friendly and accommodating as were the guys behind the bar.
The house bitter was very agreeable though I was a little underwhelmed by the selection of red wine served by the glass: the cab sauv was now only served by the bottle and the other variety I enjoy was nearly a tenner for the glass so I had a (average) merlot.
The beef Sunday lunch was good with plenty of meat.
The bar was busy with a nice vibe. There were plenty of dogs in that area and a number of children. There was noise but all the kids were well-behaved and there wasn’t any children running around.
I’m sure that I’ll return.
Nice pub in a nice village - the dining room(s) and menu read well, but the execution of the food could be a bit better. Everything fresh and looked good but it was a bit bland and greasy, but better than most pre-prepared pub grub.
Nice staff good food
And I love I can take my dog in the bar area
Which is big. So always room
What a fantastic find. Lovely pub , great service with a smile, food fabulous and dog friendly too
New Year’s Day, very busy but great friendly service
Delicious food , we ate at the bar and although the menu not massive the food is absolutely Devine!!! Kids and adults alike fed - just yummy. Had a few dogs in but we love dogs but a couple a little yappie but apart from that ambience just right very busy and cosy.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Superb service. Only comment is the prawn cocktail sauce was a little thin and tasteless. All other food was brilliant.
The Stamford was brilliant, the service was absolutely awesome. The colleagues really looked after our family, they were so lovely with our colleagues.
The restaurant looked beautiful so festive & the food options and the quality of food was to a very high standard.
I would highly recommend
Staff were fantastic but the noise level was awful. Food was very average & the chips were slightly undercooked.
Our favourite pub! Great food and service, the team there are so friendly and welcoming
Cosy atmosphere and the log fire was most welcome. We had a lovely meal and great service
Great food in great surroundings as ever
Fantasy Christmas Decorations too!
Family get together
Lovely surroundings, good food (although portions are a little small) and great service.
Great for a Sunday roast. Special mention for Anna who welcomed us, and Nichola our waitress
Great atmosphere and a lovely room to eat in. The food is of good quality. However the roast dinner was piled onto the plate in such a way that half of the plate was actually empty. I rearranged it all and it looked quite appetising, a shame that my initial reaction was 'what a mess'. A friend ordered the 'foot long sausage roll' expecting a big sausage roll - but it was a quite ordinary sausage in a bread roll.
The food is fresh and well cooked, it just needs a little more attention paying to the presentation.
Lovely good day a nice setting with great service, we’ll definitely be back again. Thankyou very much 😊
Never disappoints, best Sunday dinner in south Manchester
Loved it! The background music was a little loud to start with (we WERE sitting under a speaker) but it was turned down on request by the lovely team there. Portions were a good size (but not stupidly oversized) and it was great to have the dog right by us.
Great pub but let down by food, menu is trying to hard. Was also disappointed with the lack of Gluten Free options considering it’s local competition and what they offer, I won’t be going back again for food.
Wine is also over priced. It seems prices have increased due to area shame really.
The landlord and his staff are always so attentive and make you feel like you really do matter.
The pub is exactly what a pub should be.
I love it here.
We absolutely love this place, fabulous food, atmosphere and our favourite waitress of all time. This place is not to be missed!
Fabulous food and service. Booked again for my husbands birthday. Extremely impressed
We came after a walk on Sunday and all had the Sunday roast which was fresh and tasty. We liked that we could bring the dog with us and eat in the bar area. We will definitely come back.
Great pub with a great atmosphere, lovely beer & food and friendly, helpful staff
Limited menu, but good basic pub grub at reasonable prices
Love this pub but was a bit disappointed with Sunday roast as to how usually served. No cauliflower cheese. No swede mash..... Waitress informed that now being served as a side order. At £14 or £14.95 this is on the top end for a pub roast and not impressed with paying extra for sides that were previously included. Turned a great roast into an average one all for making money on a side dish. Would reconsider eating on a Sunday here
Great meal with great service and lovely venue. Sun was shining and our table enjoyed the whole experience.
Really enjoyable meal at the Stamford for a family birthday. The food was fantastic as always and the service was perfect. Thank you. Will be back again soon.
The rugby was on so they were not serving food in the bar, we had a dog so couldn't go into the restaurant. They bent over backwards ensuring that we got a table sorted - they are always so lovely and do everything can to ensure you have the best experience.
Really good value Sunday lunch, well cooked, well presented and the service was attentive without being intrusive. All in all we had an enjoyable meal and will definitely return.
Great Atmosphere and high quality surroundings. Good selection of beers. Sunday lunch was excellent and good value for money. Highly recommended
Service was very pleasant however the food was very oily.
Children's portion of pasta in tomato sauce we initially commented that for our 8 year old girl of moderate appetite the portion size was too small and that the only solution was to buy her 2 meals which I thought was a very poor and non customer focused solution, I question therefore whether it was fresh or a ready meal set portio ? as we only wanted an extra spoonful. When it arrived the child's pasta meal tasted really salty and oily and we had to send it back. Our girl was offered an icecream as an apology but then we were charged for it on the bill!
The pub is lovely and the waitress was really pleasant about dealing with our complaint but I would definitely not recommend the food particularly as suitable for children given the saltiness and small portion size.
Great pub, good service and good food. Felt very welcome by all staff and made special space for my nephew.
My favourite pub food in the area, never a bad meal and always friendly attentive service.
this is my favourite place for Sunday lunch ever! They serve the best gravy and the staff are always so lovely!
The food was delicious! But it’s a shame it was let down by the service. Once our food had come, nobody seemed to bother with us after that, no one asking if everything ok with our meals, no one asking if we needed more drinks (we only had the 1 drink we started with) or anything else. We sat waiting with our desert menus for ages, including a toilet trip with a toddler (which isn’t quick!) still no one came. We gave up and went over to the desk to ask to pay. We mentioned to the lady we gave up on deserts, but nothing was said... disappointed.
