The Station Hotel
Lovely relaxed Sunday lunch where we could catch up with family without feeling rushed. Excellent friendly service, request for a weak latte was achieved, which isn't always the case in other places so appreciated
Fab location and excellent food. There is a great range of dishes on the menu to choose from, The Steak and Ale was the best I have ever had, large pieces of steak and tasty filling & gravy. The pub is lovely inside and also has an outdoor dining area and garden which we sat in when we came in the summer.
Great, friendly staff too.
Definitely to be recommended.
Great little hotel. and restaurant. Planning to visit again
A very pleasant meal with attentive service. A little on the noisy side but that is to be expected in a popular eatery. Certainly recommend it for lunch
Enjoyable lunch in beautiful location. The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious.
The food is excellent but there seemed to be a lack of staff to give very good service
We have never had a bad meal at the station and the staff are always pleasant and welcoming.
Good food with friendly and helpful service. I had the liver which was lovely but just a little
too much for me!
So good we booked for Christmas.
The food was delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the creme brûlée!
Excellent food and service as always. Have been there for just a treat or for family and friends birthday and everything is well catered for
Fantastic service and the food was DELICIOUS. Recommended by a close friend and I’ll definitely be going back. Lovely staff too - so friendly and such a welcoming vibe over all! Thank you !!
Each time I have been to the Station the standard has never wavered. The food is always good and superbly presented. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Definitely value for money. Parking is plentiful and even on a wet day it was a pleasure to look out on the garden.
Meeting friends for Sunday lunch. Mid afternoon was a good time, had a great meal and good service.
Excellent food and good choices
Good atmosphere and friendly staff
Been there many times and have always had an enjoyable meal
My friend and I had a lovely relaxing evening at the Station. We weren't rushed or hurried and service was there when we asked!
We went to the Station Hotel last Saturday. Our table was booked months ago for 20.00pm. The first course was a little slow coming but our main course didn’t arrive til 21.20. The staff gave us no explanation and were defensive when we asked saying that they had been busy. The food was nothing like as good as we have had there on previous occasions. When challenged the restaurant deducted the cost of one main course as a gesture
We won’t be going back - but suggest that the staff keep guests informed if there is a long delay. And that the restaurant limits its diners to the number of covers that it can handle
Excellent food as always at The Station. Consistency is the key here.
The steak pie and fish and chips were lovely. Nothing left. The F&C are some of the best around in my opinion.
The keep a great pint of Cask Marque real ale too. Always served to perfection.
Staff always friendly and efficient:
We are lucky to have a local like this nearby!
We had an excellent meal. The quality of the food was very good, the portions ample and the service spot on. We could not fault the experience and the meal was excellent value. We have been to the Station before but this was the best yet
We had a very enjoyable evening at the Station Hotel in Birstwith. The food was very good and all was beautifully cooked and well presented. The service was very slow but the manager apologised as they were suffering a staff shortage that evening but the meal was worth waiting for.
Lovely place with really delicious food! Gorgeous garden.
Great food, excellent service, would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting a good quality meal
Lovely food and surroundings - friendly staff - the only down side was we waited the best part of an hour for our main course which was a little longer than we had hoped - it was well worth the wait however - beautiful fish and fish pie and delicious ice cream 🙂
Food was reasonable not exceptional. Pleasant surroundings and great service.
As usual it is great place for Sunday lunch...brilliant gravy!! It is a really nice place to go and in the summer it is nice to sit outside in the garden. Well worth a visit
Our third visit - for a group of 6 - as usual a warm welcome and friendly, efficient service. We all enjoyed an excellent 3 course lunch from the Market menu which we consider is very good value. All dishes were very tasty and attractively presented. We look forward to our next visit.
No atmosphere at all. Very abrupt guy greeted us. Roast was good but starter very dry and tasteless.
I ordered asparagus and wild garlic soup, a favourite of mine. However the waitress brought a bowl of
leek and potato soup, explaining that the asparagus and wild garlic soup was not available. I accepted the leek an potato soup, it was too late to order anything else, and my companion was not having a starter.
I would have liked to have been told that the Asparagus and wild garlic soup was unavailable at the time of ordering, or at least before the leek and potato was brought out to me.
When I raised this matter with our waitress I as told that the kitchen had not informed them of the unavailability , and it was not the fault of the waitresses, who "did not know"
There is obviously a communication problem between your kitchen and serving staff. My problem was that I did not get the soup I ordered, or even a chance to select another starter at the time of ordering.
This did spoil the occasion for me. My main course(Risotto) and my companion's ( curry) were good.
You need to make sure that the restaurant staff are fully aware, at the earliest opportunity, of the availability of the dishes offered.
Had Sunday lunches, although in evening, that were superb. Couldn't fault food, service, or prices. Had no hesitation in going back next day for lunch, which again was faultless.
A very pleasant environment with welcoming and friendly service. The dishes were tasty, a bit variable, some extremely good made with local ingredients.
Excellent food on steak night. Great value and always a great meal. Great real ale too. The Boltmaker was spot on as was the Naylors Mild.
And great service as ever. Highly recommended!
Not good enough to recommend
food not value for money
Need to pull their socks up
Lovely food, fantastic service, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
Lovely surroundings, really good food. Staff were polite and attentive.
Will definitely be going back very soon.
The Station Hotel owners & staff produced a super Lunch which made my big birthday extra special - can thoroughly recommend this venue.
The Station is my families favorite Pub/Restaurant for meals - and drinks with me wife. The staff is great and always offers wonderful service.
I thought the atmosphere and service was lovely .......I ordered mussels as my main course and when it arrived it looked like it was a starter portion. I think I counted about 8 mussels ....!
Service was efficient and staff very friendly ......
Lovely food, polite friendly staff and nice setting. All 6 people thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would go back
First time at the Station Hotel for a meal and we were not disappointed. We had an early table at 6.30 so lacked atmosphere when we arrived. Service was very attentive and food was excellent. Waiting time was minimal, the homemade Steak and Ale pie was delicious and thoughtful to have a pot of gravy. Spoilt for choice by the menu and we will definitely return.
