Nice friendly staff, very welcoming and efficient. Staff on this visit did everything they could to make our visit nice. Definitely a venue worth visiting
The building and atmosphere are great but our order initially got lost so we ended up waiting over an hour for food. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a massive issue (apart from being rather hungry) and they offered us free puddings which were gratefully received. I am sure it was a very rare occurrence and just an over-sight as the staff are very good which is why we haven't made a big deal of the situation.
Been here twice and would go back again 😊
Very family friendly - lots of parents and children of all ages having Sunday lunch. Food was delicious with large portions. Staff were friendly, but not the quickest, though understandable given how busy it was.
Met up with daughters best friend and their parents. They were amazingly accommodating as ever, lovely lunch.
Good service and recommend steak deal which we were unaware of. Food was cooked well and delicious. Good atmosphere and regularly pop into the bar.
Looked after us very well and brilliant for gluten free - I would recommend - great NYE
Booked a table for NYE - just for drinks and the table service was brilliant. No queuing at a busy bar. Live band was brilliant.
The food was perfect but the service was shocking, the staff had no manners and got our drinks order wrong. It’s such as shame as I have really good experiences on other visits.
Nice peaceful lunch. Staff very obliging and attentive. Not been for a while and service has definitely improved a lot.
A lovely evening and staff always really polite and helpful
Very poor service once again. Not enough waiting staff. Staff indifferent to clientele. Pickle tipped over one of the party with no apology. When it was pointed out some warm water was brought to mop it off. All unprofessional and shoddy. Some of the food was good. Mine looked and tasted as if it had been kept
Warm for at least an hour.
Booked a table in restaurant and specified we had 4 prams in my booking and 4 adults for lunch. Table wasn’t ready and obviously no thought had gone into my request for space.
Was seated in the ‘pub’ area rather than restaurant on a bigger table and was basically forgotten about.
Had to call waitress over after 30 mins of no one taking any notice of us.
Clearly the guy who put us at the table was so busy he obviously forgot to give us menus or place a 4th chair at the table as it was missing.
Pretty crap service once again
Good food. Friendly waiting staff although the males may need some training when dealing with women with children.
Question: "The children's portion sizes. How big are they?"
Answer: "Er.....enough for a child.....small."
Question: "How big is that?"
Answer: "Not that big."
My sister wanted some (any!) sort of indication but the friendly server had no clue how to answer her! Hilarious although my sister thought he was a muppet because of his response!
I enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch out with the family. The food was excellent and while the service was quite slow due to how busy the restaurant was (it was packed), all the staff we're very helpful and friendly.
Friendly staff! Some of the veg was burnt, but the rest of the food was nice!
Spent a lovely Sunday here, having a late roast with the family. I had beef which was delicious. The gravy and Yorkshire puddings were fab & the price was reasonable. Can’t go wrong.
Good Sunday roast. And delicious sticky toffee pudding!
I did not manage to be served on that day. I had a table for 19:30 when the kitchen was closing.
I've been living in France for 2.5 years and have recently returned to Hither Green. My husband and I met a local friend at The Station Hotel and we had two Sunday roasts (I had one of them) and my other half had fish and chips. The pub has been renovated and I'm not sure if it's changed hands but it's different, slightly and somehow not as cosy due to the seats and tables - cushions gone, high tables and hard chairs instead. For £10 for the roasts, the amount given and the quality of the food was pretty good for London. I would return for it. The fish and chips was more expensive but a standard kind of price. The gravy was a little marmite-like though and the beef was a little fatty but it was a good plateful so I was satisfied with it. There simply weren't enough staff though. The staff (three in total) that served us when they could were all friendly and attentive but there needed to be more of them. We had to wait to be seated, wait to order and wait ages for the plates to be cleared. The food arrived pretty quickly, however! It's a local pub and a nice one so I will return but if the distance was greater, I'm not sure I would. Having said all that, I wouldn't say it was a negative experience, rather a middling one. Great Yorkshire pudding though!
Lovely Sunday lunch, good roast's, good value. Bit of a wait for food (30mins)
Great friendly service as always. Actually haven't been in since the refurb and relieved to see the menu and quality hasn't changed.
I can honestly say the station for us has been a fantastic find. We love going here and bringing friends for drinks, food and live music. We can honestly say we have a fantastic time every visit and meet some lovely locals as well, we can't fault the staff or food. Friendly, welcoming staff and delishish food.
Went on Sunday evening and expected it to be quiet and possibly out of roasts - we were pleasantly surprised to find that neither of those things were true!
It was busy which is understandable as the food is great, we both had roast topside of beef which came with all the trimmings (plus they weren't stingy with their rich gravy which is always a plus!) and shared a delicious bottle of Malbec. Would recommend.
The food at The Station is outstanding, and the team here are truly a level beyond that! The ambience is perfect! I am not from the immediate local area but this is worth the journey without fail, and already have my next visit booked in for 2 weeks time. I cannot credit the team here enough. Every time I visit it gives me such enjoyment to receive such friendly and genuine service! One of my favourite places to visit in London. The management team here must be exceptionally proud of each one of the guys and girls here! Keep doing what comes naturally to you all and delivering that amazing service!! :) This is a MUST visit, you will not be disappointed!
Had a lovely evening here with friends. Very welcoming waiter with our order, who checked on us even after he'd finished his shift. Good food (platters and mains) with the superfood salad a highlight.
Sunday lunch was again, not great. It's a real shame as it should be much better. Yorkshires like crisps and beef as tough as old boots. Come on guys, you can do this!!
Have a lovely evening. I must say the superfood salad was absolutely delicious, wonderful favours bursting with intense flavours. Very very tasty. Great choice for any foodie.
we had a sunday roast which was almost inedable, such a shame as the outdoor space was lovely. The ladies bathroom was revolting and was in urgent need of attention.
I love going to the Station Pub, the food is great, nice atmosphere and great friendly team!
Thank you guys!
I had lunch at the Station Hotel. Excellent game pie.
Good food slow service
Loads of variety on the menu and food tasty but staff seemed overstretched even before the restaurant got busy. We had to cancel our drinks order because we'd finished our meal by the time they arrived. Would eat there again but suggest ordering drinks at the bar instead.
Well worth a visit. A great local that adds value to the area !!
A great deal of effort has been made to improve the décor and the dining room is now a very pleasant place to eat a meal, but the food and the service are not yet at the same high standard.
Had an enjoyable meal last Sunday. Glad we booked as it was very full. I did think the scampi and chips I ordered was very average but the others really enjoyed their roasts and ribs.
Visited for Sunday lunch. Very busy, glad we booked.
Food excellent. Large portion sizes for the Sunday roast.
Services a little slow, probably due to how busy it was.
Can't blame the staff who were good but we were shown to a table with buggies parked next to it cramped up by the fireplace. Table needed cleaning. When asked we were then shown to a better table and the waiter couldn't have been more helpful. The dining room smelt of nappies. We were given menus after a while but then waited and waited for our order to be taken by which time we left and went elsewhere. May be we were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
As usual, a good meal and good price. Waiting staff are really friendly too.
Steak night is a great deal. Really good steaks, cooked well to order , with a generous portion of chunky chips. The house wine - Tinto Garnaca, Borsao is really nice. Full bodied and fruity.
All in all a great midweek meal.
The station hotel is our local in Hither Green. The food is excellent quality and the staff are friendly and helpful. Sunday lunch and steak night on a Wednesday are our favourites. We'll worth a visit.
Very happy with the service and food and will come back again
