We got engaged here and often return for anniversary dinners, we have just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and couldn’t think of a better place to go for dinner to celebrate, the food is outstanding quality and fantastic service , will be returning again and again.
The food is consistently good here, great gin selection too! Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff, lovely cosy atmosphere. Highly recommend for either a date or special occasion
Nice evening date night. If order from a la carte, the mains are huge. Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. I had scallop for starter, that was perfectly cooked and juicy.
Truly, this is a hidden gem in Edinburgh! So romantic, delicious and add excellent service from happy people. We can’t wait to visit again!
Good food, very friendly staff, pleasant ambiance.
Absolutely fantastic. Exceeded my expectations! Lovely services and fabulous food! Would recommed to anyone wanting a quiet date.
Excellent quality of food as always. Consistently a definite fine dining experience. Delicious home made bread & lovely little extra amuse bouche too. Food is beautifully presented & generous size portion on both starter and mains.
Awesome food and service. Exceptional quality and reasonable price
Had a lovely meal. Staff were friendly and helpful. Meal was well cooked, interesting and tasty.
Recommended by a friend and lived up to this in every way. Superb food and enjoyed the ambience too. We were on a weekend break from Norwich in Norfolk and would highly recommend this restaurant to others who are celebrating a special occasion
Wonderful restaurant, without doubt one of the best in the city. Excellent food and fabulous service. Would highly recommend and will visit again when we have the opportunity.
we go on Sunday evenings with BYOB. Nice to get really good food to match a really good bottle of wine.
Another superb Evening of deliciousness. Thank you!
This was my third visit this year to the restaurant I live on the South Coast of the UK and wish I was nearer! The food is excellent and well priced, whilst the wine list is small what they offer is a good choice. The service this time was not so professional as before but I think two of the waitress were being trained, we waited some time to order our pre dinner drinks and by the time they came the first course appeared shortly afterwards. However, the service over all was pleasant. When we left the waitress was leaving on the counter and didn’t even move to say goodbye. Don’t let this put you off trying this restaurant our other visits have been superb.
Wonderful restaurant with excellent food and delightful service. Very relaxing atmosphere and a pleasurable experience, recommended.
Fabulous anniversary dinner on Saturday. Amazing food with unusual little twists. Waiting staff were fab, friendly and happy to help with any questions. Great to find a place that doesn't place tables too close together! Enjoyed the music playing softly in the background too. Will definitely be back :)
Thank you! A perfect evening celebration of my wife’s birthday.
Lovely quiet restaurant with excellent food. The service was brilliant - staff were very friendly and attentive.
The food was very good with good starters and main course. On a Sunday you were also allowed to take in your own wine which was another plus. Excellent again.
This has always been myself & my husband's special occasion place to eat. However, we decided it was time to introduce our 11 year old son to it - he totally loved it and was especially complimentary about his scallop starter!
We were generally pleased as our first time trying the lunchtime menu with tapas portions. The food was unfortunately, and for the very first time, not quite up to standard. The menu was not very enticing, the dishes were found a little bland, the battered fish should have been crispier ( though the fries were perfect) and the pasta dish was totally underwhelming. They need to find a better quality pasta and use fresh basil on top ( not all wilted and grey) and use a proper home cooked tomato sauce and not just a spoon of this and a heep of fresh sweet tomatoes thrown in = doesn't work. Possibly the most unimpressive pasta dish I have ever had and it really made my entire impression of the food here rather cooled compared to what it has always been. Yes I'll be back, but perhaps not for the lunch menu. It was, however, good value.
Faultless!!!!Have dinned here many times. Have recommended to many friends and always rave reviews on food, service and ambiance.
Classic quality ingredients with a fun twist.Service is always perfect balance of attentive yet discreet but also friendly.
Another wonderful meal at one of our favourite Edinburgh restaurants. We keep coming back because we love it so much! As usual the food and wine were excellent and the service attentive. We'll be back!
We always enjoy a visit to Stockbridge Restaurant when we are here on our annual trip to Edinburgh. I would say that it was a lot quieter than usual, empty tables, not the fault of the restaurant I am sure, maybe just a sign of the times? Because of this it was lacking in atmosphere a bit.
The food was amazingly flavorful and beautiful on the plate. I had pan seared sea bass with crab cake, tomato salsa, avocado ice cream, Fennel salad and aioli £20.95 seabass. The fish was super fresh, and each bite off the plate burst with contrasting but complimentary flavors. My wife had duck breast with crispy duck confit, sauteed potatoes , roasted Heritage beetroot and port sauce £23.95, which was also splendid, although a bit sweet for my taste, but the duck breast was moist and flavorful. Service was unpretentious, yet still formal enough to match the semi-formal and comfortable ambience. The prices seemed a very good value for the quality of the experience.
Enjoyed the Sunday evening menu and the option of BYOB was an excellent idea as it allowed friends to share there favourite wines. Also appreciated the two amuse bouche and the lovely flavoured water nice touches.
Lovely birthday meal for my Mum. They even went to the effort of putting a candle in the desert. Excellent evening, would thoroughly recommend!
2nd visit in last 8 weeks still as good as first time , constituently good food and service . Really suits romantic date night ...even for oldies like us.
Very welcoming and cosy, with lovely and efficient service and delicious food
One of the best meals we enjoyed in quite a while. Everything was fantastic: food, ambiance, service- all top notch. We were celebrating our anniversary and this place fit the bill. Thanks for a great meal.
First time trying the new daytime menu and far from disappointed. Visited with 2 teenagers and they loved it also. Great value for money for amazing quality food and excellent choice on menu.
Will be back
Really great food and friendly staff was a brilliant evening. Well worth going.
As usual The Stockbridge Restaurant did not let us down. It is always wonderful - great food and fantastic staff. We hadn't been for a while but will definitely make it more of a regular thing again! Lots of nice gin too
Excellent lunch time menu, wonderful friendly service
A lovely cosy restaurant with friendly helpful staff. I liked the white table linen & intimate atmosphere of the restaurant with the tables not too close together. A good choice of local dishes on the menu but not too many so that everything was freshly cooked. The prices including the wine were reasonable for such a good restaurant. I had scallops to start and duck for main, both were excellent and beautifully presented, unfortunately we were too full for desserts. We would eat here again the next time we’re in Edinburgh.
Very nice meal, great service and enjoyed the evening.
Restaurant very quiet - we were one of two couples all evening. Food very good though.
Favourite restaurant in Edinburgh, great food and service and not stuffy like other more pretentious eateries.
Excellent wine list too with friendly helpful staff.
The restaurant had a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and added to the enjoyment of the evening. The food was first class and of a very high standard. We will certainly be returning for further dining experiences.
We were delighted with the food and made to feel very welcome the 4 star for ambience was because Mike found its little cold thank you
