My fave restaurant in Edinburgh with no question. Love the food and ambiance. I would really recommend it.
Staff were friendly and helpful, the wine list is good and not over priced.
Overall a great restaurant which we will definitely visit again soon.
Always a lovely dinner with good food, nice service and a lovely ambience. It is my favourite restaurant in Edinburgh with our any doubt.
Went for the Sunday night menu as its BYOB (£4 corkage) food was superb - well worth the money
Excellent produce and chef. Will go again. mmmmmmmmm
This is one of Edinburghs best kept secrets . Great family restaurant with varied and interesting menus in a quiet area of Stockbridge .
Fantastic little restaurant, wonderful food with delightful service. Been before and will undoubtedly be back - highly recommended.
Had a great night. Food was excellent. Thank you
Lovely place, good food, cheery staff and very accommodating. Would recommend.
With a friendly welcome and cosy ambience, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Stockbridge Restaurant. The food was mouthwatering and cooked to perfection. In each course, the excellent combination of flavours was delicious. We had a super evening and will definitely be back!
Arriving at 7pm. Ordered a two course meal. Two hours! Mistake made by us to chose the table near the window. Single glacing you can feel the cold and started to feel unconfortable. However two course meal not a big deal. But the service was to slow. Not our best experience when travelling.
My first visit and I hope to be back . It was an outstanding meal. Thank you
Our dining experience here was fantastic, perfectly timed service, not to quick that you feel rushed and not to slow you run out of conversation whilst looking at other people’s meals. Fantastic food, three courses full of flavour that didn’t make us feel lethargic and full. The surprise of the between course amuse bouches was brilliant. Can’t fault it
The three-course meal was extremely good value: delicious food, attractively presented. The waiters were welcoming, although the younger lad needed some training in clear articulation: his enthusiasm sometimes made it difficult to understand what he was saying ... a relatively minor point which didn't detract from an excellent dining experience.
Cosy basement restaurant with friendly attentive staff serving delicious food
The staff are so lovely and attentive. Second time we’ve been and will definitely be back
Great little restaurant, food very good , good atmosphere and really busy for a Wednesday night need to book.
Excellent food, great service, Cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend for romantic evening.
Lovely setting, lovely food lovely service
Delicious food and excellent service. Great value Sunday night menu
I was very pleased with our meal the quirkiness of the restraint and the service was a delight, will make sure we return on our next visit to Edinburgh
Food was beautiful and lovely atmosphere in the restaurant
A wonderful dinner. Very gracious service and more than ready to accommodate any special dietary needs. The food we ordered was presented beautifully and delicious, and accompanied by a few surprises along the way.
An excellent all round experience as always. Definitely our favourite Edinburgh restaurant at the moment. I don't know how but the restaurant exudes a feeling of well-being immediately on entering which just gets enhanced throughout the meal. The food and service cannot be faulted and the atmosphere is relaxed but professional without being overbearing. The menu changes regularly and is always at the top of its game. To be honest I'm already regretting this review as I'll struggle to get a table in future!
We had an excellent meal for two, the food, service and surroundings were all great.
Good food and pleasant surroundings but a bit precious with very nervous waiters. Could benefit from some tasteful music to create a more relaxed atmosphere.
What a fabulous restaurant! The food was superb - I had the scallops and duck and my husband had the pork belly and sea bass. We didn't have room for puddings, but had excellent coffee. The service was perfect and I loved the dark decor and the artwork. If I lived in Edinburgh this would be a regular haunt! We had a wonderful evening.
Wonderful meal in a fabulous setting. Service is top notch too. Will be back again, definitely
Wonderfully intimate setting and from start to finish a geat experience. The food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend a visit if you are in town.
Highly recommended- intimate, warm and friendly atmosphere, excellent tasting food beautifully presented and served by attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Really nice intimate restaurant, with first class service and food to match. Highly recommended.
A small cosy restaurant with a lovely ambience. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The choice of food wasn't huge, but that's often a good thing and it certainly was here as what they did, they did extremely well. An excellent evening and I'd certainly go back.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Wine list was good. The service was understated and exemplary. Charming basement space, quiet but lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend this excellent restaurant.
This was my second visit to the restaurant and it was just as good as I remembered! I went with a friend from Italy and we enjoyed everything.....scallops, steak and venison! The tastes were wonderful!
We were only sorry we had no room for dessert...
I've dined here on numerous occasions with no issues. However on this occasion I felt the service was very poor.
No one asked us if everything was OK after our courses had been served. We had to ask for our water to be topped up. We had to pour our own wine which meant getting up out of our seat as the wine cooler wasn't easily reached.
Small things yes, but having just returned from Turkey where the service was exemplary, there was just no comparison. It was my partners birthday and this was highlighted at time of the booking in other restaurants this has been recognised.
However I cannot fault the food.
Excellent food. Good range of wine fairly priced. Charming staff
Enjoyed the food, service wasn’t great, would consider going back again
Very cosy, inviting atmosphere. Service was very good, staff were very pleasant and attentive. Food was excellent, both myself and husband had three courses each, every one of them was just perfect. If in the area it's definitely worth a visit, but best to book in advance just to be sure if getting a table.
Not as good as I remembered. Had been there a number of times back in 2013. Lighting was way too bright. I remember the flavours being incredible but this time I honestly felt they were a bit flat. We could only secure a late (9.30pm) booking & it all felt a bit rushed - I was still chewing when my main course plate was whipped away. The waiter apologised as I think she realised they were rushing us. They shouldn’t take later bookings if they want to finish up early!
The whole experience was lovely. Food was delicious and fresh, good wine list and excellent staff
