Service very muddled, three different people trying to serve us, all asking same questions. Noise levels way too high, tight seat for two with back to room and people on next table too close. Food excellent. Didn't like service charge being added although it was of course discretionary and you could ask to have it removed. We paid iup and left

It is a nice place with a good ambience. The chicken we ordered was warm unfortunately I think it was left standing too long.

The waiters are generally nice - except for one not so friendly waiter - he kept whizzing our plates and cutlery off the table without checking - he was in a crazy rush and not so polite as the other staff. It was off putting for us.

I have been to the Stoke during the week, food hotter and a better service as they seem to have more time to attend to guests.

Despite all of this - nice place, nice vibe, good food.

Post theatre dining with family. Both parents and kids loved the food. Small plates of chicken perfect for younger kids. Great atmosphere. Great service

I booked The Stoke House for a pre-show meal as a complete surprise for my girlfriend. I don't know how many restaurants I researched in the area but The Stoke House jumped out of the screen. We were not disappointed. My girlfriend was absolutely thrilled! The ambience was perfect - busy but not too noisy. Background music was a good mix and not overpowering. The service was outstanding - no waiting to be served. We chose the rib-eye from the menu and my girlfriend commented "That was the best steak she had ever had"! I agreed. If dinning in the heart of London's West End in the future, The Stoke House will be my first choice.

pre-Theatre food was required and we wanted to be able to book. The Stoke House menu is simple but the food was a little underwhelming. Opted for the short-rib and got more bone, than actual meat. Everything is extra, sauce & potatoes. We didn't stay long but it did the job before our show.

Great for a pre-theatre meal. the service was quick but not so fast that you felt hurried. The lamb belly was very tasty, if a little overcooked for my liking. Good ambience, nicely buzzy without being too hectic.

A good pre theatre meal. This menu does not have much choice but reasonable. £5 suppliment for a slice of beef seems a bit unreasonable when the main course is already paid for in the fixed price. Not much beer choice. Otherwise OK.

I’ve been here a few times. Good value and great choice of meats. Unfortunately on this occasion we were left for ages once seated and I had to complain before we got a drink and our order taken. Service was very prompt after this. The food just seemed rather bland and seemed to lack taste. Might try Bodeans next time!

we chose food from the pre theatre menu which was clean , tasty and affordable
The service was good , even as the restaurant got busier . the tables were a little cramped together but overall the room was large and airy The only issue to be aware of is the wine and cocktails are very expensive , overall a good experience

We booked The Stoke House because of its proximity to the Victoria Theatre - just minutes away. The food was well presented and tasty. The portions looked small but we were definitely not left hungry. We ate at lunchtime, so quite busy, but were did not feel rushed. I would eat here again.

Booked for 6;30 pm and arrived when the restaurant was full of pre-theatre diners. Our table was ready, and we were shown to it immediately

The food was excellent - we chose the Charred Onion Tart and the Slow-Roast Lamb Belly. Certainly meals that will be remembered for a long time for the right reasons. Accompaniments and puds also spot-on.

Service informal and very friendly - attentive without being fussy. Just what we wanted.

We had a Valentine’s/birthday date here. Food was lovely, the service warm and attentive (the complimentary fizz was a nice touch!) My only complaint is that the music was far, far too loud. I like this restaurant, but I’d hesitate to come back for a dinner service unless the music situation is rethought.

We went to the Stoke House for a pre-theatre meal and weren't let down. We arrived early but were seated straight away at our choice of table. Our orders were taken quickly and drinks were brought out immediately. In terms of food it was really great - each course arrived quickly and was very tasty - although on the smaller side they balanced well and the super quick delivery meant we were out with plenty of time to get to the theatre. The staff were polite and were very quick to refill drinks and clear the table but in an unobtrusive manner.

Booked after theatre for 6 people. Nice table ready when we arrived. Good service & friendly staff. Food was very nice and several dishes have size options. Reasonable price for central London. Shame the happy hour was only for limited cocktails & would be nice if the calorie content was on the menu. Thoroughly recommend it

The pre-theatre menu which offers only two starters and four mains (one at £5 supplement) represents incredible value.
I had seen the menu online but had to ask to see it in the restaurant.
My partner had the beetroot to start; adequate, a little too cold, it needed to be at room temperature. I had the pate, fairly standard fare though the pickled red onion was very good.
We both had the lamb and were surprised by the generous portions of meat, potatoes and vegetables, the latter two of which have to be ordered separately from the main menu ordinarily but here are included in the price.
I have never before eaten such melt-in-the-mouth lamb and the salsa verde was minty and zingy, wonderful.

Points to note: a (large) glass of white wine was a bit of a sting at £13.00 and 12.5% service charge is added on to the bill automatically. Waiting staff can be a little over-attentive but that's better than not getting any attention at all. We ate early (pre-theatre) on a Saturday and the place was very busy, justifiably so.

The roast was really only carvery standard - served lukewarm with quite tough meat and veg that had been under the heat lamp. The desert was better in fairness and the staff were attentive and friendly. Unlikely to go back or recommend

Definitely the best place we've tried for dinner in the new buildings around Victoria (which on the whole are rather chain-y and boring). Great pre-theatre menu and excellent service. The restaurant itself is beautifully finished and everything was sparkling.
