The Stravaig a contemporary kitchen & cocktail Bar with added function room within the kylestrome hotel. Serving up fresh local Scottish cuisine. In the heart of ayr town centre and private parking. With our cosy bar (the cookie) and restaurant wether it be for food or a cocktail in hand with friends we are here to provide you with top service for any occasion. Beer garden to front and to back for those summer days events. We also have an 80-100 capacity function room with bar for hire.

    Another great visit to the Stravaig. Great cocktails and good choice of food. The Stravaig seafood plate was excellent. Very friendly and attentive staff. A great addition to Ayr. Look forward to next visit.

    Been here a few times and the food/service/drinks have always been very good. Visited again recently, and ordered scallops which were advertised on the menu to have black pudding and a puree (had this specific dish before and it was perfect the way it was) so it came out this time with coleslaw?? And a black pudding bon bon which was actually nice but just different from before. The coleslaw just didn't go, and the person I was with also agreed, a strange combination to be honest. Mains were all fine, well cooked and presented and desserts were delicious, we all tried different things and all were fab. Only small thing, did not get offered a dessert menu after mains were cleared from the table, so we had to try get someone's attention to ask for this.

    I booked a table to take a friend for her special birthday. I was allowed access prior to our booking time in order to put in some balloons. Once seated we were offered a glass of fizz but unfortunately we were both driving so it was soft drinks for us. We didn't have a starter but opted for a main, dessert and coffee. The meal was lovely from start to finish. Service 10/10. Cost was reasonable. Will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you.

    My first visit to Stravaig When in for breakfast the Chef got my order wrong and I received eggs Royale (smoked salmon) instead of eggs Benedict (Ayrshire ham), this was taken away and returned very quickly, unfortunately the salmon had just been lifted off and replaced with ham, meaning that the strong fish taste was still on the muffins and the poached eggs (which were now cold), due to intolerance of fish I could not eat it and it was taken away and fully replaced with freshly cooked items. I received no cutlery, and had to go up to the bar and ask for this …… by this time my friends had almost finished eating their meals. The waiter was very pleasant about all of this and, without any discussion had adjusted our bill to reflect my experience. I was very disappointed in how the Chef had dealt with his error and not sure if I will return to find out if I was just unlucky.

    Excellent choice in menus. The food we had was excellent. Have been many times and never disappoints. Thoroughly recommend.

    Can’t fault Stravaig! From the food to the staff, the restaurant itself, it’s all excellent. We will definitely be back and I will highly recommend.
