Very disappointing food. Having been twice when it first opened and having excellent food we decided to treat the whole family. I think the chef must have changed. The bread was disappointing and main courses, other than the burger were not nice. Such a shame

Went to the Sultan for the first time and definitely not the last. We were greeted warmly ant the entrance and shown to our table. We given enough time to read the comprehensive menu over drinks. The starters came and they were excellent followed closely by the mains. We didn’t have desserts because we were too full from the other courses. I would definitely recommend The Sultan and I can’t wait to return maybe for the breakfast or lunch

First time at The Sultan. The menu choice was fantastic. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive. So friendly and welcoming. The food was utterly outstanding and incredible value for money. Can’t wait to return. I’m recommending to all family and friends.

We came here for my aunt's birthday and we could not fault it. The drinks were lovely, the staff provided very friendly service and were very attentive and the food was delicious. The flavours of the sauces were amazing, the salads were fresh and we loved the bread. We had two fussy kids, who loved the cheese and tomato pide and I think my son will want his own portions of the cheese stuffed chicken balls and Sucuk next time! We ordered too much, but we wanted to try as much as possible! We are looking forward to coming back again to try the rest of the menu, like the kebabs and seafood! Thank you!

A new restaurant so you can expect slow service as they’re finding their feet. The drinks came 35 mins after our arrival and the order was actually wrong when it did eventually arrive. The food was good but mains are dear at around £26 each. Also a side of tzatziki was £7 which is a bit steep. Our main order was wrong also with chips brought that weren’t ordered. We also had a bottle of wine for £21 and it was a Tesco finest Pinot Grigio! Definitely not £21 in Tesco and not what we were expecting. The bill was over £170 for 4 of us which we thought very expensive for a Turkish meal in a no frills restaurant.

Came for a birthday. Birthday ruined. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table when we had booked by a lady in management for no reason, she was seating others who arrived after us although we made a booking? We had to wait so long to the point the waiter said to us “you finally got a seat” which was patronising when ordering. Poor service from staff and they all look stressed and rushed, didn’t like how cramped the seating was and the overall experience was not enjoyable. Service makes a big difference, this is not worth the money. Awful service from management.

A fantastic find in amongst the plastic identikit chain restaurants that proliferate the bay. An outstanding meal from a well thought through menu, made with fantastic ingredients and cooked with the lightest touch and impressive flair. Starters were scallops and prawns. Both incredibly fresh, beautifully presented and packing a punch in flavour. The scallops were melt in the mouth served with bursting pearls of roe. The prawns were in a cheeky chilli sauce and plump and juicy Mains were pistachio lamb chops and cokertme. My husband, who normally avoids meat on the bone, stripped the chops clean. Brilliantly well trimmed and as lean as lamb can be expected to be. The Cokertme was presented in a powerful tomato sauce which was knocked back with a smooth yogurt. The steak was excellent quality and also melt in the mouth. It came with super crispy French fries but I did find these a bit messy to eat. No dessert for us this time as the 2 courses left us replete and satisfied. A complimentary glass of tea to finish was all we needed. The restaurant was pretty loud even early on a Saturday but once a large party left this reduced significantly. The ambience is lively and the staff really welcoming.

Had traditional Turkish breakfast. Lots of variety of breads, fruits, spreads, etc along with a choice of hot egg dishes. Quality and service both excellent. It was quiet when we were there but probably because it’s relatively new. Would definitely recommend.

It's great to see a new Turkish restaurant in Cardiff Bay. The Sultan in the early days of becoming established but the quality of the food should help. It was a very enjoyable meal.

Had a brilliant evening last night at The Sultan Restaurant. Great place, nice atmosphere, good service and the food was delicious! The Manager Aslan and the staff who served us Seti and Aida were incredibly helpful and friendly and I can’t wait to go back there soon! Perfect evening, very impressed.

Many members of staff standing around watching us eat, witch was rather off-putting. Olives were very hard, and lamb although well cooked, the nut coating had a burnt flavour. The main course took over half an hour to arrive after we had finished our starters, and when asked for a coke refill and twenty minuets later it still hadn't arrived and we asked where it was, they then brought 2, then when I checked the bill later, we were charged for it. Very expensive evening, not a good experience.

My second experience at The Sultan and I was very satisfied. The staff told me that they will start Mediterranean breakfast soon and I love it, they use very healthy, fresh and high quality products for the food and you understand when you eat it.

A very setting with very nice people managing the restaurant. Authentic Turkish cuisine served with flair and care . Some excellent tastes and a well thought out menu . Would we recommend ? Without hesitation .

The prices are quite high, maybe bring the prices down slightly which will bring in more customers. Bring more variety to the menu, wraps etc. There was flys around the food invest in fly machine to prevent the flys.
