Our order was mislaid from waitress to kitchen so we had a terrible wait for our food
We enjoyed our visit. We have been many times before.
We enjoyed our get together and the service was good. We have eaten here often and always enjoyed the food. However 2 of our group had the bacon, chicken and avocado salad and did not enjoy the new recipe. We mentioned to the waitress the lack of salad leaves and tomatoes and she brought us some to add to our salad, which was good of her. Please go back to the old recipe.
Very pleasant experience from reception to end. Food superb and excellent value for money. Waitress fantastic.
What a charming place, great service, great food, great value
On arrival they had no notice of my having booked!
Was really looking forward to a lovely roast lunch that I had not cooked myself. The beef was grey - I had asked for medium rare & the vegetables scarce & the desert had obviously been cobbled together as an afterthought.
My chosen meal last Friday for lunch was the salmon. The accompanying stemmed broccoli was under done and I did mention this to the waitress at the time.
Table ready when we arrived. Service not pushy. Food usual good quality. One meal was adapted on request.
The Swan provides a great casual dining experience with a welcoming lounge bar and dining space. Importantly comfortable dining chairs and tables appropriately set out so as not to intrude on neighbouring guests. The menu has a range of dishes to meet varied palates and diet choices. Service was friendly and courses served without a long wait.
Very nice place with good food didn’t have my booking which was quite embarrassing as we went with friends. I had booked through open table and had confirmation. They fitted us in but in a squashed area so could have been better,
Nice venue we sat upstairs food some what exspensive for what it is but enjoyable
That food was great but the service not good.
We had a warm welcome on arrival and shown to our seats immediately. I like to order a drink right away and enjoy it while I peruse the menu. Unfortunately, nobody came to offer us a drink. After sitting for roughly 10-15 minutes we managed to attract a barman's attention and got a drink, but that was some 20 minutes after arrival. We wanted a bottle of wine, but the waitress did not know what the house white was. We ask about a Sauvignon Blanc that was on the menu, but was told she didn't know anything about that one either. She did recommend one that she said was popular, but when she went to get it, there was none. We did eventually get a bottle of wine and it was very good. Other than those initial problems, the food was good and nicely served on warm plates. Overall, we enjoyed our evening.
Sadly the food was below average, the service poor and the ambience cold. Nearly two and a half hours to serve three courses in a half empty restaurant on a Wednesday night in January. Starters - pate quite nice, salmon tacos disappointing. Mains - wagu burger poor, overdone and burnt. Fish cakes large but tasteless. Deserts - lemon cheesecake hard and nearly frozen still. Chocolate brownie rock solid.
That said the front of house service is a lot better than couple of years ago so great to see the establishment turning corners in that respect. We went because recommendations said it improved a lot across the board, sadly we can’t share those views after Wednesday night.
Good food and service. Just disappointing that some favourites were not availed at 7.30.
I have been to the Swan on other occasions and always had good food. This time very poor
This is a good place to meet for a laugh or a gossip. There is a very nice outdoor seating area that is dog friendly. Staff even brought water for a dog that came and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The menu covers many tastes and appetite sizes and the coffee is good (I am very fussy!). Comfortable seating made the afternoon very pleasant.
