Very good tasty Steak pie, lovely sea bass and chicken dish. Both our friends and us thoroughly enjoyed the meal but found it a bit pricey.
I ordered outdoor seating but was seated indoors as seating is allocated on arrival which was not explained online. (I arrived 30 minutes before the booked time)
Service was incredibly slow. Two tempura vegetable starters were 'Asian style" instead of soya sauce style and consisted of nothing but broccoli. Food otherwise good.
Decent espresso coffees but if you want decaffeinated it's only instant.
Overbooked and understaffed. A shame as the staff were doing their utmost but just couldn't keep up.
Great food, it's nice to be able to eat out again.
It was our wedding anniversary and we wanted somewhere different to dine, which was also local..
We couldn't fault the place, so will definitely go back again..
The venue is very nice, sadly on the night, we were let down by the service and some of the food. We had delivered 4 starters, but we had finished those before the other 2 were delivered ( 6 in the party) I think there was a mix up with the ordering. The menu said Brie starters but I think we got Haloumi - however very nice. Most of the mains were nice although 3 in the party had steaks which weren’t very good. We didn’t get served for desserts, we waited over half an hour and my son had to go and find a waitress at the bar. We then had 2 desserts delivered, and waited on the third by which time the 2 delivered first were already eaten. The Eton Mess was very poor with hardly any fruit in it. Sorry to be too negative, and I hope this is seen as positive feedback, all in all disappointing. The bill came to £180 so expected more.
Steaks disappointing- well done rather than medium rare. Service though was very good
First visit and would like to return for a 2nd opinion.
Overall a bit disappointing, nothing was bad but nothing was great.
Maybe had unrealistic expectations of a gastro pub experience but this was a bit more standard fare.
The dining area was chilly but that’s partly the recent cold weather for late May.
We went to celebrate my sisters birthday and the staff and food were just amazing x
Lovely pub. Outdoor area was great and food lovely. Great value for price. Will definitely be returning.
The food was good and the outside seating area nice, however, we had our table at 6pm and had to wait an hour for our starters and then another half an hour for our main course. Our children were extremely hungry, cold and restless by the time the food arrived. There seemed to be plenty of waiting staff so we could only assume there weren’t enough kitchen staff. We had to ask where our food was and noticed some others did too. A nice place to visit but the waiting times need to be reduced significantly.
Many thanks for the feedback, your visit was within the first 2 weeks of stage 1 reopening and we were receiving extremely high volumes of customers all wishing to dine in a very small window due to the decreasing outdoor temperature, whilst maintaining a fresh food/cooked to order menu. We are currently putting in additional measures to ensure our customers are attended to quickly and hope that you will come and see us again soon when we are able to operate under more normal circumstances.
Really lovely garden set up and the food was delicious! We had the duck salad, vegan burger and brownie for dessert and it was all absolutely scrumptious!
We will definitely be back!
Great food, really friendly staff. The service was a bit slow but they were very busy and had only just reopened. Will definitely return the steak was amazing
Lovely pub and food tasted good, but disappointed with menu choices. Felt quite pub grub. Only fish was battered fish/scampi - no sea bass or similar.
At the moment we are running a garden menu only due to the restrictions, do come and see us again once we are trading inside and our full A'la carte menu is running.
Appalling. 45 mins to be served. No drinks offered had to ask. Another 30 mins for starters. Food not the best. Waited a total of an hr and a half. Still no main so asked to cancel order.
Still charged £20.
The food and service was very good. As we had to sit outside it did get cold, so we decided not to have a dessert. Will definitely be back when life gets back to normal as this is a very nice pub and the food is good.
Service excellent and lovely setting but the food left a lot to be desired. There were a lot of bones in my fish, the pies were clearly frozen/not home made so I was more than slightly disappointed as it was a birthday meal for my husbands 40th. Would not return for food.
Obviously outdoor dining and there was no music so felt like all tables were trying to be quite.
Food was alright but definitely not worth the money. My partner had steak which was ordered m/r came out well done.
Only two staff members on and felt like they were complaining rushed off their feet, did ruin the service a little bit but through no fault of their own.
Have visited before and was lovely so a bit disapointed.
Great food, great service and all at a very good price
Cold no heaters poor menu will not return
We are sorry to hear that you were cold. Our patio heaters unfortunately cannot cover all areas and April weather can be very unpredictable. We are currently not offering our standard blankets during COVID but encourage all of our diners to bring a warm coat until the Government permit inside dining. Our current menu comprises of 12 starters / small plate dishes, 7 ciabattas, a selection of burgers, steaks and pub classics. Our full a'la carte menu will resume when indoor dining returns.
Excellent service and food and a good atmosphere. Love it here and thank you as ever
Fanatic breakfast in a lovely outside environment
Great to be back at the Swan. Food was great. Friendly service. Shame it wasn't a bit warmer.
Fab brekkie after a walk across the fields with the dogs. Definitely will visit again
As always food, service was excellent. One of our most favourite pubs.
We come regularly but this visit wasn’t the greatest took an to take our order (it wasn’t even overly busy) we were a table of 6 including a 1 year old. Then waited 40 mins for food then items missing. Lovely garden feels just a shame as it’s not a cheap meal and it was freezing. Sitting waiting thag long isn’t nice
Many thanks for the feedback, our second day of re-opening with lots of diners both front and back. The table service and distance between the outdoor and indoor space we recognise does slow the process so taking onboard your comments we have increased staff levels, card machine terminals and other processes to ensure we can support our customers in these very busy first few weeks of outdoor-only trading. Do come and see us again soon!
As ever excellent. Helpful and really friendly. Looking forward to seeing you soon
Top take away during lockdown can’t wait to get back to the place for dinner. Always 5 stars!
Amazing food and team.
Amazing Christmas lunch exceeded all expectations, cannot wait to dine here again hopefully in the not too far distant future
Excellent food in a lovely atmosphere
Loads of space to social distance but also cosy and warm
Not as Christmasy as we were expecting for a lunch on Christmas Eve. No festive music, hats, crackers or any sign of the festive menu, though we were more than happy with a la carte. The food is always amazing and it’s still our favourite pub restaurant, locally. Perhaps the quiet atmosphere was related to Covid and the prospect of closing again from Boxing Day.
Well organised and COVID safe. Good food and service as always
Wonderful old pub with great food and service , we are so lucky to have it in our village.
What a lovely lunch! Great staff, beautiful food and a great location - hadn’t ever been before but in these times it’s tough to find somewhere nice sometimes. I can tell you though, we will return!
Lovely meal out.
Only criticism was the sprouts were hard.
Would definitely recommend and go again lovely setting nicely decorated, clean and staff were very efficient.
The whole experience was very good, we felt totally safe in the restaurant
Fantastic food and lovely atmosphere- will return. Staff were great.
Had a great meal and a few drinks. Felt safe and normal. Staff all very professional and polite. Thank you. Will be back very soon.
Moved from cold corner to by fire. Main course took a long time to come and fish was mainly batter and my wife's risotto very stodgy.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Really lovely lunch , with gluten free options - great choicest
Great Sunday lunch
