The Swan Hotel, Wadebridge
A lovely family friendly town centre pub with restaurant, situated at the heart of Wadebridge. The newly refurbished Swan Hotel is the perfect base to explore the beautiful local areas of Cornwall.
Great staff and front of house, was very accommodating, and friendly, made us feel very welcome, look forward to returning.
Excellent food and service well worth a visit
Lovely meal. Excellent coffee. Nice staff. Thank you,
Great food in a very friendly pub with great staff.
We booked very last minute, but they were very accommodating! Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, fantastic portion sizes and great choices. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Would recommend this Highly and will definitely come again.
Excellent customer service meal was fantastic
Brilliant food, no issue here. Sadly met by long waits for seating and food and rudeness from bar staff. The waitress who served our table however incredibly friendly and very professional.
Absolutely amazing food. Amazing staff and an absolutely beautiful place will 1000% be returning
Warm welcome on entering, good service and very good food
The curry was very tasty
We all enjoyed our food
Staff were very good too
Avoid if you want to eat! The staff were rude when we arrived telling us that they were struggling with staff and our booking was useless. I understand staffing issue but manners cost nothing.
First class food with first class staff all washed down with first class drink
The staff here were clearly under immense pressure from increased tourist activity, it was obvious they were exceptionally busy. They didn't seem overly welcoming at the start but that didn't last long, they were all very lovely. We did have a bit of a wait after we ordered. However, the staff did warn us of the waiting time so we were prepared for it, and the food was WELL worth the wait. It is no wonder they are so busy!
2nd visit. Terrific value, great food and very welcoming.
Will go again.
Average food not the hottest
Good selection of drinks
Lovely pub, great food, variety menu, extremely well priced - portions were huge, sadly no space for dessert. Would recommend to all!
Unfortunately the food and Service wasn’t up to its usual standards, resulting in us seating at 7.15 having to wait 45 minutes for the food (A salad nachos chips garlic bread crabcakes ) The food wasn’t good , my duck salad was basically all carrots and no salad , Cold and not spiriting for £11.50
The crab cakes where overcooked, dry and somehow reached us cold? We didn’t eat the meal and was refunded but due to the time ended up not being able to eat anywhere else. A massive disappointment , what should’ve been a nice girly evening with good food and company ended up three very hungry ladies going home. Not what we had planned.
I felt when the management asked me what was actually wrong with the food it was slightly confrontational but one side explained what was wrong she happily took it away and refunded us apologising.
I would go back and try the food again as I have had a lovely meal prior to this. but I wasn’t happy with the service and food we had this time.
Service and food Great
No fuss at all my Only gripe was being asked To pay as you go throughout the evening not as if I’m gonna do a runner with my Wife And kids
As a family we are quite fussy where we eat, and this restaurant was absolutely perfect.
A great menu, great food and fast service.
There have been a few reviews that say payment needs to be made before the food arrives, this is only because they have had people eat and leave without paying for the food!
Would definitely recommend having a meal here.
Great Gluten free choices. Very welcoming to children
Eaten here twice in the past week whilst holidaying in Cornwall. Food and service lovely.
Great meal, great service and food was great. Son had Hunter's Chicken and is still talking about how delicious it was!
Portions are very generous. Food takes a little while but is worth waiting for!
A spur of the moment choice for an evening meal. 6 adult meals and drinks for less than £150. Great waitress really friendly shame we live so far away or we would return
Took over 20 minutes to place an order and then additional 40 minutes to wait for main courses even though they appeared not too busy
Quality of food was average and due to length of waiting we didn’t wait for desserts
Had to wait for food abit longer than usual but it was not a problem as we no it’s very bissy at this time of year
Lovely outdoor area, food was great, tasty and large portions! Would of loved to have seen homemade chips along side the freshy cooked food.
Attentive service. They found us a table inside when we had booked outside which was good. Food came promptly but a bit bland for us. Surprised to find you pay straight after ordering without even seeing / tasting your food. Visit was ok
Very good friendly service food very good but one burger cold but remedied at once with complete meal replacement and many apologies. Really enjoyed our evening and would thoroughly recommend this venue.
Excellant value for money. Lots of choice on the menu . Staff inform us that our evening meal would like take a while we were happy to wait and the wait was worth. All members of staff were very polite and helpful.
We really enjoyed our evening meal at the Swan. Friendly, attentive service, the food was really good quality pub food with generous portions. Decent menu with plenty of options, including the children’s menu. Dining area was nicely decorated and felt spacious. We couldn’t fault it, great value.
Fantastic menu, lovely food and great staff! Will be going back!
Excellent food at a very fair price, yet severely lacking in service. We were seated, understanding the lack of staff at the time, were not given menus and then asked “well what do you normally like?”, which is a preposterously idiotic question to ask, after we requested the menus he then added “well you’re here a bit late”. Overall id consider recommending if the member of staff who was dealing with us had an evening with the queen to sort out his boisterously aggressive attitude.
Great, huge portions & friendly service.
Booked table day before as tried earlier in week and were full. Was greeted at the door and shown to our table were we ordered our drinks and food. There was enough chose and we enjoyed what we ordered would recommend.
There had been about 1hr wait on food. I felt sorry for our waitress as she was rushed off her feet but she provided us a great service. Would of been nice for some extra bar nibbles to help us whilst we waited for food, would of booked somewhere else but a lot of places were fully booked. Food was ok nothing to shout about just tasted like cheap pub food. Can’t fault the waiting staff at all I feel as though Covid has got staff levels
Great food excellent service will definitely come again …… I can recommend the Lamb flatbread and the blueberry crepe brûlée.
A 😀& warm welcome and immediately taken to our Clean reserved table, given time to settle swiftly followed by “Amber”taking our orders for Food/Drinks,which arrived at table drinks first swiftly followed by our meals which were hot & cooked to our individual requirements & well presented along with a range of condiments offered. After 5 minutes a “lady in a pink dress!” Enquired as to our meal satisfaction (a unanimous 👍Yes).
As “The Swan” was very busy (Peak Season) the Swan Team deserve our Every Praise for making our “Excellent Lunch” so enjoyable.
4 😀😀😀😀Happy Customers.
Despite being extremely busy the staff were very friendly and helpful through the evening. The food was delicious and we will be returning 😊
Slightly mixed experience; kept waiting at the door and ignored by the general waiting staff until the team leader was free. Outdoor table despite the restaurant being empty, which was OK temperature wise but the courtyard is used a lot by smokers from inside. Music was inappropriate for the atmosphere - both volume and the fact that explicit material was relayed over the the head of 7 year old...not impressed and staff seemed oblivious to what was being played. Appetisers were really good - chorizo and halloumi chunks delicious. Main courses less so - steaks were expensive and overly chewy; chips/sides cold very quickly and there was far too much on the plate - lacked refinement.
The manager was very rude she shouted to get our attention even tho we were sat 2 steps away from her. The way she spoke to staff was rude. Food was ok. Waiting staff who served us were lovely…. Considering!
