Established in 1985, and located on Raglan Street, just off Princess Square in the heart of Harrogate, The Tannin Level is one of Harrogate's best loved and most renowned restaurants. Known for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation amongst the towns sophisticated 'foodies'. The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, and its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
The food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, utilising only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. As you might expect, all our food is freshly prepared by our chefs, which also means that if you have any special requirements, we can usually oblige. What a lovely experience at the Tannin level on Saturday. Food was gorgeous! We had a good choice of wine to compliment, atmosphere was lovely! Definitely go back

Service good, but food was very plain. We went for the steak & chips. Both had a very small jug of sauce. The shallot rings were tiny which is expected but I had one on my plate! The salad was watercress with two cherry tomatoes. The pudding plum frangipane was ok. We had a sparkler on the pudding as a nice gesture for our anniversary.

We had a really good experience from the initial welcome to leaving the restaurant. The food was simply delicious. Fabulous and one of my favourites.

Dined here with the Harrogate gift card for Sunday lunch and it was fabulous. Had the beef and loved how they ask if you want it pink or cooked through - always pink for me but great to have the choice. They have a great selection of menus depending on the mealtime (lunch/ Sunday dinner etc) and we will definitely be back to try the main a La carte menu. Staff were lovely and there was a really nice ambiance

Superb roast today. I had pork, my husband had medium rare beef. Both delicious. Vegetables were fresh, seasonal and tasty. Large portions so shared a dessert. A lovely experience all round.
