The Tappit Hen
The Tappit Hen has steak night on Wednesdays, but we didn’t feel like steak so ordered burger and chips as a main and a starter of Serrano ham, Russian salad and Legbar boiled egg. All delicious! Good wine selection and finished with a port and Madeira. Very enjoyable evening.
The Tappit Hen is tucked away down St.Swithin’s Lane but should be tried at least once after work. The service was excellent with our waiter greeting us at the door with a smile and looking after us for the evening. Food was of a high standard and the wine list had a large range ‘by the glass’ which allowed us to try wines outside our usual choices. Another visit is on the cards.
Nice bar, nice restaurant and excellent service. My first visit and would definitely be back!
Great food - wonderful choice of dishes for carnivores, pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans.
Subperb presentation and great flavours with dishes. Wine choices excellent and good value for money.
A great experience all round.
First visit to The Tappit Hen. Lovely menu options and nice wine list. Super friendly service. Will be back soon.
Delicious potted shrimps on crumpet and COD was perfect all rounded off with a half bottle of Pouilly Fuisse and excellent service. Delicious.
We had nibbles to share which we lovely with curry nice wine. The only downside was the music. On some point the music became very loud. Not quite the place for it. This place is more about sharing a drink with friends and catch up.
