   We had a great afternoon, Sunday lunch was very tasty including starters and desserts, unfortunately we live 300 miles away so a return visit will have to wait until next year ! Looking forward to our next trip to Cornwall.

   We've previously dined at the Ugly Butterfly which is one of the best dining experiences we've had, and expected the Tartan Fox to be similar, but I think thats on us. The building is remote and beautiful, but the dining area was cold and we waited an hour between starters and mains. The food itself was exceptional, but it felt like a new restaurant without the experienced staff looking after you at the other venue. Waiting staff were lovely and incredibly helpful, but when apologising for the delay for the main, explained that too many orders were taken to the kitchen. Would 100% try again and think the locally sourced food is exceptional.

   Food was very nice, we had the cheese doughnuts and bread with chicken butter to start which I would highly recommend. Mains sirloin steak and pork chop again very nice, although the steak was requested rare in our opinion it was more medium. Sides, we had chips and seasonal veg, we didn't mention the steak as overall the food was very good, Staff very attentive and knowledgeable, setting relaxed didn't feel rushed either. We will definitely be returning.

    What an experience from the minute you walk in your welcomed with a warm smile and lovely staff, the interior feels cosy and your put at ease as soon as you sit down the dried flowers on the napkins are a lovely touch we were celebrating our anniversary and as we walked in they congratulated us on our anniversary and there was a lovely card from all the staff, service was brilliant!!!!!! Not to intrusive but very attentive when needed, the food was just amazing!!! We had a selection of small bites and starters to begin the truffle cheese donuts, trout and mussels were my favs the home smoked bacon was delicious but the rest was brilliant also, then came the mains I opted for the beef tartar which was lovely and hubby had the short ribs with gravy and rosemary chips the ribs melted in the mouth and had so much flavour the gravy (the name doesn’t do it justice) was incredible full of flavour and added little extras a bit of warmth of bit of crunch it was delicious, we finished it all of with the deep fried mars bar and the penny well dessert both delicious, a really lovely touch was the chocolate anniversary placard on the dessert. A very good experience and hope to return again
