Quiet oasis but very central right on Charing Cross station good all day menu food good quality ideal for our four generation family meal
Shame our order got confused and they were not busy otherwise service very good
Will return and recommend
We were very disappointed when we arrived to find that our open table booking was not on the system (was advised that they never go through so book direct with the hotel). Luckily they had a table. Service was slow and when food arrived it was cold. The ambience was so lovely that it took away from the disappointment. We were in a hurry too ,as had booked to see a show so we had no time to complain or wait for fresh food so just ate what we could. Not the best but for the price it was ok.
It's a hotel restaurant with a typical menu and overpriced food. You can do much better in the area. But you can also do much worse.
I booked a table. I received a voice message before the booking saying that my booking was cancelled. They should be up to date with their online booking service
Good pre-theatre venue. Varied menu and quick service. Attentive and friendly staff. Nice ambience.
We Enjoy this Christmas dinner at the Terrasse restaurant.
Was a lovely get together in a nice setting
Lovely staff , lovely room !
We was celebrating my partners birthday, and had a lovely tasty meal and the staff was excellent in helping us chose the right wine for our meal which made it a very enjoyable evening
Terrific food in a great part of town. The ambiance is really top-notch; I absolutely recommend sitting along the windows.
My friends and I were having a catch up after a long time and we’re looking forward to having a nice pleasant meal but the lady serving us was hovering over us a majority of the time and constantly kept asking us about ordering our food, in the we just picked something to keep her off our backs. Not impressed
After booking a table at the restaurant (17/02/18) because the reviews were quite good it is always disappointing to be someone who didn't get a great experience.
We arrived on time and were taken to our seats after a few minutes of waiting. Nice atmosphere a dozen people around us some with and some without food and a lovely view of the strand. Unfortunately the view was the best bit, by a long way.
After waiting over 20 minutes to get a drinks order (I had to flag down a waiter) and then another 10 minutes to receive 2 glasses of prosseco, a pint and a large glass of wine we had our food order taken. With a waiting time of just over 30 minutes for a starter it was a long time to wait for a mediocre dish. The scallops were average, nothing special. They were meant to be seasoned with spice but tasted plain. The other starter we had, the pea and crab chowder was more a soup with tinned peas poured into it and a few pieces of crab meat occasionally appearing within.
Not a great start considering other people around us had food that came quickly and looked and smelled great. Another wait for mains, not as long as for starters but still noticeable, where even the waitress came over and told us she would check on our food.
The lamb rump tasted ok but had clearly been left under a heat lamp as it was just warm when it arrived. The salad that came with it was missing half of the things from the menu! The other dish we ordered, Quinoa and grilled portobello mushroom salad, was the saddest and most dissapointing looking dish if ever seen. It was literally a hand full of quinoa a few salad leaves and some cold slices of mushroom atop it. Again missing ingredients that it stated on the menu.
After taking into consideration the wait and the poor quality in the food and long wait times we left paying only for the drinks and starters and more importantly hungry. Still after only drinks and a starter it came to roughly £47, less than impressive for value.
Dissapointing!
We arrived with 90 minutes to dine before seeing a show and chose the restaurant due to it's proximity to the West End. It took over 30 minutes to order a drink and by this stage we only selected a glass of wine fearing how long it would take to be delivered. I ordered the risotto which was quite watery and at the end there was a puddle left on the dish. My friend ordered the king prawn and pancetta salad with avocado salsa. Now this dish was a pile of rocket with bacon wrapped prawns (which were very nice actually) and what appeared to be mashed avocado. Rocket is not my idea of salad, I do expect more variety but both dishes were eaten. I noticed lots of people had afternoon tea which looked and from their reviews tasted good. We did not have time for dessert, as noted by others service here is slow.
Food was cooked well, although the tables were mostly set up for afternoon teas even at an early Sunday lunchtime. However we were not impressed with the service and the close proximity of the tables next to you. The staff were not very helpful and we were also overcharged and which we pointed out. The bill was corrected but we did not get an apology in fact the staff barely spoke to us or any of the other diners.
A great little find which isn’t too busy and has tables which overlook the Strand. A staff are friendly and hospitable, but it wasn’t the quickest service. The food was good though and valuable.
Great location and value. Often meet with friends after work for pre dinner drinks and one course dinner. Always good and great value.
Food was good. Service a bit slow. We were sat by the window overlooking the strand and whilst the view was great it was definitely a bit chilly sitting there.
Enjoyed a lunch for a friend's birthday here. For the standard of restaurant food was good quality and very reasonably priced. I am coeliac and there were 2 options for dessert and staff understood my needs straight away and could tell me what I could eat. Lovely view over the strand and setting was right for special occasion, lovely ambience with high ceilings and natural daylight.
The service is exceptional at this restaurant!! Priscilla couldn’t possibly be better. The food and drinks were excellent. I only gave 4 stars for ambience as the area is brightly lit. In terms of value, my 4* rating is due to the fact the restaurant adds a service charge to the bill, and also leaves a line item for gratuity. We did give an additional gratuity because of the excellent service, however I prefer this to be solely at my discretion.
Great location, attractive surroundings but slightly bland food
Nice place to dine. The a la carte menu could be improved as the main dishes choice is limited and not interesting. Nice desserts (gluten free cake from the a la care menu) and nice starters (recommend the fish and salad one from the set menu).
