A beautifully situated and decorated restaurant with excellent service and very good food.
However we felt on balance that the set menu options were slightly overpriced overall for the content. Just something for that special occasion.
Have often passed by but found our first visit to be a surprisingly pleasant experience. Good food and great service made for an ideal birthday lunch out. Would definitely visit again.
All good. Food and Service excellent at a very good price.
Very relaxed atmosphere. Although we were booked for 4 we were able to have another table joined together and entertain 8 of our friends and family who had arrived while we were still eating so we didn’t have to move to the cafe for our coffees and tea. Matt served us and Liz came up and chatted with us as she remembered us from our last visit.
Great interior... comfortable chairs. Good service and nice meal
This is a nice place to eat! The food is interesting and mostly good. It’s lovely to look out at the RHS gardens. Also wheelchair accessible.
Food was not of the quality I expected (tough pheasant) given the price and the venue. I did expect something more exceptional at Wisley. I think there was a shortage of waiting staff so service was slow.
Lovely New year's Day meal. Service was relaxed and friendly and the environment was bright and spacious. Food from the festive menu was well cooked and tasty. Nice way to start the New year.
Very friendly staff, excellent service with a calm ambience. Thought the set menu price could include a side.
Nice, calm atmosphere. Very good decor. Excellent and attentive service.
Very nice restaurant. Food for adults excellent. Children’s portions quite small, even for an 8 year old and not good value, a bit of a shame. Will return but not with granddaughter.
Very nice setting. Staff very attentive and informative about the facilities at Wisley. Will be returning.
A pleasant environment with good food and service at a moderate price.
Lovely atmosphere, pleasant and friendly service. Will visit again.
A beautiful building in the middle of RHS Wisley its a calm and quiet space to enjoy a relaxed meal. We had the Festive menu and particularly enjoyed our main courses, a mushroom bourginon, chargrilled salmon and the mint and pea tortellini all delicious. Service friendly, polite but not intrusive.
The restaurant has a iovely atmosphere with tables well placed to ensure some privacy. The food was excellent and we were not rushed between courses. The staff were attentive and polite.
The outstanding part of our lunch was the service. The staff were charming, professional and thoughtful. Actually one comes out to enjoy food and it was quite mediocre and not particularly cheap. More like an unremarkable pub lunch. Try harder in the kitchen please!
Really good festive set menu, very good food and exceptional service. Portions are just right and the ambience is very good for an enjoyable lunch for any occasion.
We enjoyed our experience in your restaurant, but think the Hake - although tasty in itself - didn't need so much onion compote around it - and the sage potatoes seemed to be 'lost' in the onion mixture !!
Think this dish would be improved if you served separately on the plate the onion compote and the sage potatoes and not have to 'search' for the potatoes !! There was far too much onion compote I felt.
We hope this helps with your survey of our experience and shall look forward to our next visit !!

Our favourite place for lunch. Not to be missed 😘
Comfortable and attractive new furnishings, tables well spaced out, soft background music. Food - well cooked and presented. Very disappointing service. We had booked a table for four at 11.45 with the intention of going for a walk after lunch. The soup arrived in good time but we then had a one hour wait for the main course. Apparently our order had been overlooked and even though the restaurant was only 1/3 full the staff had not noticed that later customers were finishing their main courses before we had been served. We received an apology and a reduced bill but had run out of time to take a walk.
We came for lunch for a friend’s birthday and retirement. The receptionist added an extra to the booking when we arrived with no problem. We were offered a choice of tables. Glasses of Prosecco arrived free of charge for celebrations and the pudding had a birthday candle for the birthday girl.
Excellent food - we had2 course menu - I had hake perfectly cooked and others had pheasant, roast turkey and salmon
Beautifully presented and very discrete service
Great atmosphere - we all sang Happy Birthday.
We will come again
Many thanks to all
this was meant to be a treat for my sister and I . The food was really not up to the standard that we have enjoyed before. The cabbage salad was pretty tasteless and the pheasant was tough. Not good and expensive for what we were given. . Probably just use the cafe next time. pity!
Food and the setting were lovely. I would like to see a little more fish on the menu that does not have shell fish in the dish.
Very enjoyable experience at The Terrace Restaurant, lovely setting , elegant but friendly , nice food and very helpful staff. The female Matire d' is a credit to this restaurant she was outstanding.
This is a lovely restaurant for a high quality meal. Lovely contemporary setting, friendly and attentive service and great food.
Very pleasant settings with excellent attentive service. Portions are on the small side and sides are additional charge.
The food was very good and the service outstanding. A member of our party of five people became ill and the (we think head of services) was very concerned for her well being and could not have been more helpful. We intend to come back and will recommend it to all in our lunch club.
The service was both friendly and attentive without being overpowering. The food, Sunday roast lunch for us, was very good, one of the best I've had. It was on the pricey side though but it was very good and we would go back again for a treat.
I had booked stating that two members of our party were vegetarian. We arrived at our booked time of 1pm, after a short time, placed our order. We were told that there was no nut roast , the only other option for a vegetarian was roasted vegetables. When I asked to to see the manager and explained that I had notified in advance that there were vegetarian requirements. She said she would talk to the chef to see what he could do. After a short while she came back to say the the chef had reserved two nut roasts for us, which we accepted. After some considerable time the nut roasts appeared together with the cod that our partners had ordered. To be honest, the nut roast was dry and very uninspiring - we have had a lot better elsewhere. It was my 75th birthday and I had chosen the restaurant... it was most disappointing, particularly as we had invited guests from Somerset to share our celebration. Having said that, the starters were good and the staff very attentive. I have to say that, based on that experience I could not recommend your restaurant. I had hoped that with the refit, the food would match the style of the Terrace but I was let down and disappointed on a day which should have been a cause to celebrate!
The restaurant was very pleasant with a good ambiance, the staff were all very welcoming and very pleasant, the only downside was that on the day of our visit the kitchen had run out of potatoes and we had a gap of an hour between starter and main course!
The new and improved restaurant at Wisley Gardens is a joy. I was there on Monday for a friend’s birthday lunch and we were all very impressed. The service was of a very high standard, the food delicious and the refurbishment is a welcome change. Wonderful day out. One of my fiends enjoyed the non-alcoholic champagne. There were all sorts of non alcoholic options.
The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and feel to it much better than the previous one. The service was very good apart from when we 1st entered the restaurant and the staff were talking to each other and appeared to ignore us- after a while I thought I might have to attract attention but gladly didn't. After that the service was very good.
The food was ok but not great value for money. The starter portions and bread offered were skimpy although tasty. More bread was offered as we were finishing!
The roast beef dinners were quite nice and enough for 2 ladies but felt that a man would have wanted more! The gravy tasted artificial. The veg eg yellow and orange courgettes and carrots were lovely and if they came from the Wisley garden that was a nice touch. We did not have a dessert. We did not feel as though we were being rushed which was lovely. We had booked for 12.15 which seemed ideal as the restaurant was beginning to fill up by 1.p
Really lovely meal, great room, very comfortable, friendly and attentive service.
Will go again, a very enjoyable afternoon.
Very disappointing visit:
Slightly lethargic serving staff
A cream tea at £12.50 was overpriced for what it was. The scones were very dry, the jam had no texture to it, the presentation and serving was poor.
Our bill came to £50 plus £5 service.
In a way the £5 service charge completed a very disappointing visit. The £5 charge was not an option
Perfect way to dine and get away from the bustle of Wisley. Was impressed with this new restaurant. . . Layout, ambience, very comfortable seating and having been there twice recently was taken with the friendly, attentive service.
The salmon we both had on the first visit was lovely but rather too much! Limited menu on our second visit (maybe because of flower show) Had the rare beef salad . . . Was surprisingly very tender. Delicious. Gooseberry fool was very nice.
Probably need to book
A calm oasis with great service and delicious food. As always, one of our favourite places for lunch!
The menu is a bit safe - which probably suits the clientele. E.g. melon and parma ham which is very dated these days. The food was fine but it's not cheap. I would have liked to have boiled new potatoes available with my lamb rather than only chips (there was potato salad so they would have been able to hot new potatoes too, I'm sure). The kitchen was slow - though good communication from the staff. It wasn't full but we were in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours for two courses and coffee and we ordered our food with our drinks. It meant we had less time for the gardens which was a shame. It's nice you can book - and the food and experience is better than the main cafeteria. But I would prefer to take my chances and try and get a table in the restaurant past the Pinetum next time.
Lovely experience for our anniversary. Relax atmosphere with friendly staff and good service. Reduced set menu but food was good. Really enjoyed it.
Great food, excellent service. Definitely coming back.
