Very disappointing visit:
Slightly lethargic serving staff
A cream tea at £12.50 was overpriced for what it was. The scones were very dry, the jam had no texture to it, the presentation and serving was poor.
Our bill came to £50 plus £5 service.
In a way the £5 service charge completed a very disappointing visit. The £5 charge was not an option
Perfect way to dine and get away from the bustle of Wisley. Was impressed with this new restaurant. . . Layout, ambience, very comfortable seating and having been there twice recently was taken with the friendly, attentive service.
The salmon we both had on the first visit was lovely but rather too much! Limited menu on our second visit (maybe because of flower show) Had the rare beef salad . . . Was surprisingly very tender. Delicious. Gooseberry fool was very nice.

A calm oasis with great service and delicious food. As always, one of our favourite places for lunch!
The menu is a bit safe - which probably suits the clientele. E.g. melon and parma ham which is very dated these days. The food was fine but it's not cheap. I would have liked to have boiled new potatoes available with my lamb rather than only chips (there was potato salad so they would have been able to hot new potatoes too, I'm sure). The kitchen was slow - though good communication from the staff. It wasn't full but we were in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours for two courses and coffee and we ordered our food with our drinks. It meant we had less time for the gardens which was a shame. It's nice you can book - and the food and experience is better than the main cafeteria. But I would prefer to take my chances and try and get a table in the restaurant past the Pinetum next time.
Lovely experience for our anniversary. Relax atmosphere with friendly staff and good service. Reduced set menu but food was good. Really enjoyed it.

A very disappointing experience. Hopefully, at least in part, due to the restaurant opening only 3 weeks ago. We waited 30 minutes for our (cold!) starters and there was another long delay before the mains arrived. Food was only moderate in quality and we complained about the bean/mange tout side as being old and stringy, and the cost was taken off our bill. The vegan option was, sadly, derisory - small, mostly quinoa, unappetising, but still the same price as the meat dishes which is a scandal. Our knowledge of Wisley catering goes back 50 years and while now much 'classier' is not an improvement. Rather the opposite.
Very poor service. We only seemed to get any at all when I made an effort to flag down a waitress. Seems to be badly organised or understaffed. Only two girls to put food on table for all those tables ? And men employed as waiters, but only to bring food out into the restaurant and then stand holding it, until one of the gorls noticed and took it from them ? Has your manager ever had any restaurant experience before ?
Food - lamb was tough.
The garden is worth the journey, but the restaurant is not. Next time we will eat somewhere else, if there is a next time.
Unfortunately our meal did not come to fruition. When we went to the restaurant we were told that there was no hot food as the power was off.
We did not want cold food from a very limited menu.
It was a very special occasion, being our 40th wedding anniversary, and it had taken a lot of planning.
We were contacted the day before to confirm that we were coming, but no attempt was made to make contact with us during the morning to say there was a problem.
We were VERY disappointed.
The food was very good. The chocolate nemesis was to die for. The service was muddled. Brought orders for another table more than once. Asked for our dessert order when we'd already had it. That kind of thing. Youngsters who clearly hadn't much experience but were very pleasant. We wanted to have our coffee outside and told the waitress that, but she chased after us (presumably thought we were going to disappear and not pay) asking for payment. If the outside area is available for The Terrace Restaurant then it should be closed off. It's not unreasonable to want to move for coffee without being made to feel we might be scumbags and do a runner.
Went for Sunday lunch, excellent surroundings and service. Food was very good however I was disappointed over the number of choices for the main course, two meat, one fish and one vegetarian. A second vegetarian option should be included and similarly as both meat options were red meat, you are stuck if you don't eat red meat.
First time we have been since the renovation. Lovely light and airy feel to the restaurant. Menu had a good combination of different foods. Only criticism if minor was we could have done with more vegetables with the main course. Have recommended to friends and family and will certainly be back again.
Terrible service, took over 90 minutes for a 3 course meal. They blamed this on a new menu, which had been thrust on them without warning only minutes before they opened. The food, however, was simply outstanding.
A very pleasant experience in the new Terrace Restaurant: excellent service and food, fresh open decor and excellent value for money.
Visited this new restaurant at RHS Wisley Garden for my wife's birthday treat. The setting at this Garden is excellent, but. perhaps they did try to fit too many small tables, too near to one another. You cannot help to overhear conversation, which isn't always welcome. Another foot distance between the smaller tables would perhaps suffice.
The food was well presented and very tastefull. Very good service, too. Recommended.
A very enjoyable way to spend my birthday. The staff were very helpful and efficient delivering good service. The menu offered good choices, the food was excellent both in taste and visual appearance, and most of all served on hot plates.
The general ambience of the restaurant was very inviting with only one slight downside on that day, which was showery and windy. Every time someone outside passed by the automatic doors opened and unfortunately our table was in direct line. Maybe a double set of doors will alleviate this?
Would recommend in the hope the the service would improve. It totally lacked direction in this critical period just after opening. Food was good and servers all pleasant - just very disorganised. No discount offered and 12.5% service still added!!!
We welcome this new version of the table service restaurant inside the garden (entrance fee required or RHS memberships needed) . It is situated roughly in the same area as the previous one but a great improvement, nice and airy and has comfortable seating . Some tables get the sun through the sky light roof and might be too hot in a heatwave. The young staff worked very hard to make everything run smoothly. The choices on the lunch menu were somewhat limited but well cooked. We could see the busy time would be around 1pm so it would be better to get an early table from 12 onwards . At the moment the car park is nearly 90%-100% full with visitors keen on seeing the new buildings it may be a long walk away from the entrance to the car park to the entrance to the gardens extra time should be allowed to reach the restaurant on time. A good place for “an ordinary “lunch

We had a very nice lunch in this new restaurant at Wisley gardens. Food was excellent, service pleasant but very slow and very good value. Will certainly return.
