As always, the service and experience was outstanding. Throughout the both of extremely difficult post lockdown periods, the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that diners feel safe, but not at the expense of being able to enjoy a great atmosphere and fantastic food.

This was our first visit but we will be back. Overall a lovely evening.

We’ve eaten here twice now and both times were very good. Friendly efficient service, good menu choice and excellent food. I had spiced Thai fish cakes, which were great and a very good burger and my wife had the special haddock dish, equally as good if not better. We’ve just moved to the area and would become a regular if not for this crazy lockdown. See you again when we are allowed.

Lovely lunch with 2 friends at The Thatch. It felt Covid safe, it was warm and inviting on a cold October day. Service with a smile, nicely decorated interior and importantly well cooked and presented food from a varied menu. I'd recommend it for lunch, I've not been for dinner.

Returning on an invitation after a very disappointing end of September meal, The Thatch came up trumps with everything last Saturday for our Halloween lunch meal. The sanitory and spacing measures, the amazing food with great variety of tentalising dishes, the indoor big restaurant room sunny atmosphere, the very attentive service really made our Celebration Meal a very happy memorable occasion. Thank you so much.

Fantastic food we ordered from the small plates and off the specials board and then finished with the Tarte Tartin (which was gorgeous.) and the cheeseboard. Excellent staff who really made our evening that extra bit special. Can’t wait to come back

Lovely surroundings and ambience. Great service, friendly and informative. Food was delicious, only slight criticism would be that the leeks were slightly underdone & a bit difficult to eat. Other than that, all 3 courses were very tasty & nicely presented. Would definitely go back for more!

Disappointed, not up to usual standards we usually experience at The Thatch. Food was not very warm, potatoes had been reheated (not very successfully). However they did immediately replace our food when we told them we weren’t happy with the temperature. Must have been an off day! The service was excellent and our server was lovely

I booked especially to sample their autumnal Beef Wellington only served from mid-September each year Fridays to Sundays and am pleased I did because it was delicious but I had to wait over 30 minutes for my main course despite the fact I didn't order any starter only a mocktail to wait for my dish. But I was brought the wrong drink which upon my insistence got finally changed to my Lime Cranberry Fizz as I was finishing eating. I also noticed none of he staff members were equipped with mask or else nor were any other measure of table distancing or other protection but a bottle of sanitizer at the entrance and at the bar were visible. After having sat at my outside table for 75minutes I gather I wouldn't be able to get a dessert in time within the 90mns of my booking therefore I asked for my bill, paid contactlessly and said my thanks. Since early August, I ate at 5 different restaurants but this was the one where I felt the less Covid-19 safe. The food quality was superb but the slow service and incorrect order taking have let this restaurant down on this occasion on top of my ill at ease.

Sat outside - it was a lovely day and the place was busy (but social distanced).
We ordered snacks followed by starters but they both came at the same time - that was the only blip.
Service was great, as was the food.

Loved it. I'm moving to Thame shortly for a complete lifestyle change and The Thatch was recommend - it didn't disappoint. My party of six for lunch were warmly welcomed. The lunch menu offered something for everyone without being overwhelming, our waitress was able to answer all our questions about the menu (always a good sign). We all ate something different and the food was excellent. I look forward to returning as a 'local'.

The Dover Sole was excellent, perfectly cooked and easy to debone. The chips were also excellent. The Eton Mess (Peach Melba) gave me enough carbohydrates to last for some days!! It too, was excellent. I did not look at the wine list as I had my usual glass of Chardonnay!

We were initially a bit worried about the service; the young waitress was clearly inexperienced, struggling to read the Specials board to us, but a more senior member of FOH staff supported her ably.
The August lunch menu had plenty of choice; we liked the inclusion of small plates as well as starters. We all enjoyed what we ate.
All in all, we would certainly go back - even at full price!

We were really disappointed, especially as it was a special 30th birthday dinner. The main courses were all fine but a bit average. But the 'fresh' bread was dry, the Gorgonzola starters didn't taste at all of Gorgonzola, the Peach melba had never seen a raspberry and the coffees were barely warm. We've always enjoyed going to the Thatch, but now are reluctant to return.

Music always non offensive, easy listening - no thud thud thud noises as in some places.
We always enjoy this pub and try to go 4/5 times per month.
