Our friendly team of staff look forward to serving you with our great drinks range and our delicious menu.
Very tasty food, with good presentation. Portion sizes of some meals were a little small, compared to others. Or possibly plates too big, which made some potions look small. However would definitely dine there again, as what we did eat was extremely tasty :)
We had a Sunday lunch - I chose a nutroast which was lovely! The food was ok - it wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t amazing - it filled the hole! The presentation of the food could have been better, it was like they had just thrown it on the plate with no real thought. The service was good! They took our drink orders very quickly. We had another 2 people joining our table, when they arrived they went up to the bar to get their drinks as I am not sure the waitress realised they had arrived. They could improve by being more aware of the tables. The ambience was nice! It reminded me of a Toby Carvery - the way it was designed inside. We felt relaxed eating. Overall it was pretty good! For us it was a meeting place half way for me and my partner and my friend and hers, it was pleasant for that purpose :)
We came with some friends who have never been before and really enjoyed ourselves.
I would like to make one suggestion though and that is to have the heating slightly less high, as it was like a sauna in there and I was only wearing a vest top!!!!
Service girl fab.Food very mediocre and no chunky chips.Looks mostly bought in and sweet very poor value.Small!!Been several times a while ago and liked it but won’t be going back.Honest report.
Friendly and helpful staff. Food is good and good value for money.
Can tell a big difference since the last time we visited a couple of years ago . Quality of meat was poor especially the beef. Very average Sunday lunch much better options around chesterfield
We dined at the Three Cottages on a Saturday evening. The ambience and cosines of the pub is great and the beer was cold and good quality. However, the food was massively disappointing. I ordered a daily special Thai curry street food dish that was wishy-washy, completely flavourless, on the cold side with a few raw frozen prawns I paid extra for. The portion size was very small. My partner had a lamb tagine and that was also a paltry size, but he said it was tasty. The starter was a mushroom garlic dish that was a couple of chopped mushrooms in a tasteless sauce. With a couple of drinks it came to c£60. Really poor value for money and quality and will not be returning.
Starter expensive for a few prawns, main coarse chips only half cooked steak very fatty/grisly turned down the sweet as not paying any more money for the meals they serve.
Been loads of time before, really like three cottages and Christmas menu is brill
Lunch menu is cheap, quality food in generous sizes. The two courses evening meals equally so.
Our family meal was very enjoyable,
We all had a different main course ,
We had to wait a little while but it was worth it !
The pies were especially good and I enjoyed the ample beef Sunday roast ,
We will definitely be back and will recommend to our friends ,
Good value too
Absolutely loved our first visit to the three cottages. The only suggestion we had would be to widen the starter choices slightly. Will definitely visit again! X
A really nice bar and restaurant with friendly staff. Great atmosphere and service. I had the Sunday roast with beef. The meal was very nice but for the price I would expect the roasters to be fresh not frozen, aunt Bessie style, and the beef was quite fatty. But that's being a bit picky, I really enjoyed the meal. We will return because some of the other meals looked very tempting....
Main course was very nice and the meal deal is reasonably priced. The desert range could be better. Service was excellent.
Our first visit was for Sunday lunch and we will return. Good food, nice environment and the staff were very helpful.
Excellent venue, food very good and service from the staff second to none. Nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended.
Overall the Sunday Dinner was good and reasonably priced. There was a good range of veg however some of it was served cold and the Yorkshire puddings were spongy. The service was good however no reference was made by the staff to this being a birthday get together which was disclosed when booking. The outdoor play area was great for kids with games and slides. Will come again.
Have been before and had positive experience. This time food was mediocre and service was just adequate. Not sure what was happening this time, but it was not worth what we paid, disappointed.
