The Three Crutches
It was quite a quiet time to go but the food was quick to come out, the staff were polite and helpful, there wasn’t much of an atmosphere as there was only two or three groups but was getting busier as we left, food was quite nice, some of our party wasn’t happy with their food as not enough gravy in the pie or a little extra to add to the meal, the lasagna cheese was a little weird and the homemade burger was massive!! I had the chicken and leek pie and it was fabulous, really good value, the sausage and mash ordered by a couple of others was great too, my mum’s ham, egg and chips really pleased her! Its definitely worth a visit and would go back to try the Sunday roast at some point!!
Nice place, good food and an enjoyable evening. No rush either
The quality of the food has gone down hill since I last went for a meal there. Had to wait ages for our meals despite the restaurant not being too busy and when it came it was lukewarm and one of our meals had to be sent back
The food was not to the standard as on previous visits. It seems like they may have ran out of vegetables & we were supplied with frozen mixture, initially 1 tablespoon & after requesting brought out more. The service was also very slow. Very disappointing
Brilliant, lovely and clean, airy open area, food was delicious and we didnt have to wait long, service was great, even spoke to the little ones and involved them.
Great place , food was lovely! Time from ordering to receiving the food was over an hours, so kids went and played in the climbing frame. Would come back again :)
We wasn't acknowledged when we walked in and when they did notice us they didn’t have our reservation, but luckily it was empty. Only half the menu was available and was different to what was online. Safest bet was to go for the steak so all four of us did, and they were all over cooked to what we had asked for.
The place itself has clearly just been done up and was nice and clean so hopefully they manage to get themselves sorted as it does have potential. For now though we won’t be going back or recommending.
we thought that service was not great kept waiting quite while before meals come out a was disappointed with the meals
Overpriced for mediocre
Food. Not even sure it’s even cooked on the premises. Roast dinner with chicken breast not even sliced chicken !!!! Not the best
The Three Crutches has recently had a refurbishment and although it is to a nice standard, they have crammed too many tables together so you feel like sardines in a tin. We attended on Mother's Day which we knew would be busy but this was extremely busy and not a comfortable atmosphere. Food arrived and it was nice but feel that the set menu was overpriced for 2 courses, there was no option just to order from a bar menu.
The restaurant was half empty when we arrived yet we were seated between a family with children and a group of four people therefore we had no privacy. The menu was a laminated piece of paper with a very limited choice of food. We placed our orders and people who arrived after us were served first. We had to wait over an hour for starters and were on the verge of walking out. One of the waitresses said it was her fault as she had forgotten to put the order through. The starters were okay but the fish and chips were very dry with no sauces and the mixed grill was not worth£19.95. The food was very expensive for what it was. The restaurant was also very cold. There was no offer from passing waitresses to refresh our drinks and we had to go to the bar ourselves for more drinks. We were given a free drink as compensation but don’t think we’ll return for another meal.
very bland interior felt like a cheap bar needed more colour, not very cosy however after a little wait food appeared and was superb, fresh veg cooked perfect and plenty of it on the whole great value.Looking forward to seeing what they will do with the garden area.
Food was great as was the service. Advertising for mother's day a little confusing as two different prices. Restaurant was a little chilli. But everything else was good.
The restaurant is much lighter and cleaner, the food is excellent and the price is very reasonable
Lovely decoration.. trying to change a pub to look like a wine bar, not in the right area for that! food too expensive, menu not varied enough, music too loud couldn’t hear yourself talk.. should go back to being a pub and also the 2 for £10 meals then the restaurant might be busier ☹️.. Friday night and it was empty compared to how it used to be!
A very nice pleasant Sunday afternoon, lunch was fine, staff helpful and polite
Good place to go as with a group of friends or just dinner as a couple X
We had been before when under different management and we found the food to be poor
Now it’s fab, even had a doggy bag to take home! Thoroughly recommend
As a group of seven, including one vegan and two vegetarians we found the menu met all our needs. The salad dressing could be served separately though. The restaurant was quiet with few customers primarily as a result of the poor weather (it was snowing) . The staff were helpful and friendly and assisted with travel advice when we realised the weather had closed nearby roads.
Lovely food and staff, dining area could do with some more decor! Would visit again
Great place. Food was good. The decor is very white and clinical though. At least it looks very clean though.
Had to wait far too long for our food then it was cold and no apology
