Following a major refurbishment in Autumn 2014 under the new ownership, Sally and Dave pride themselves on offering fresh, local, homemade food every day from 9am to 9pm.
The various menus include restaurant quality seasonal dishes from the ‘Chef’s Recommendations’ section through to a great selection of fresh fish and tasty steaks.
Considering that this was the evening before the 2nd lockdown, there was a good selection on the menu, although unfortunately there wasn't any rump steaks left
Would highly recommend for dinner - though bizarrely the belly pork main I had (which was amazing) was served with a big cube of pork randomly upside-down on the side of the plate, like it was an after-thought (but actually the main part of the meal?!)
I stayed at the Throckmorton, as I was working at the Alexandra Hospital. Unfortunately breakfast started far too late for me, so I had paid for breakfast, but had to leave before I could get it!
Great food, comfortable atmosphere and very welcoming staff.
Well Covid application good seating service good food came I’m afraid it was not what you would call hot food more Luke warm as It was the last chance to dine out before the new lockdown I felt it was not the time to complain as the staff would be on furlough the next day and unsure what lies ahead
Excellent in every way. I’m a fairly new customer. I’ve visited 3 times in the last month and every time the experience has been excellent. Friendly, helpful and polite staff. The food has always been very nice and served quickly. I’ll definitely be a regular after lockdown. Pat on the back back to staff and management.
Very good food and the service excellent, Lia the manager could not have been more helpful and pleasant.
Our second visit to the Throckmorton for a mid-week lunch didn't disappoint, As before,we had a thouroughly pleasant experience; friendly and attentive waitress and a tasty meal from the 3-course fixed price menu, satisfying for the tum and easy on the purse! A safe and comfortable enviroment for this couple of a certain age was reassuring. Great value for our money and good for our spirits. Thanks to all at the Throckmorton. We look forward to returning after Lockdown pt2.
Will miss my treats out to Throckmorton in this current lockdown.
Look forward to everything getting back to normal.
We live on the Isle of Wight but always enjoy using the Throckmorton Arms when visiting my Mum in Redditch. Hope it is not long before we are able to return.
A lovely welcome as we entered, our waitress Chloe was very polite and extremely helpful and the food was absolutely delicious.
Overall very nice, feed was tasty and came quickly, service was lovely and the ambience was nice. Only fault was the roast pots were a bit meh. Roast beef was brilliant though
An excellent lunch last week - delicious freshly-made food, excellent service. The restaurant is covid-compliant but it is done with the minimum of fuss - no crime scene tape and scary signage. The staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere is enhanced by the roaring log fire. Perfect for an autumn afternoon. We shall return soon.
Well looked after all the correct measures in place to ensure a safe place to eat
Another very good meal and service at the Throckmorton
Dealing with restrictions well. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food.
Restaurant was clean and today. Waitress and food were both good too. However for us the major let down was the seating. We were squashed into a corner table and my husband had his back to the whole room so for us this was very disappointing. Spacing guests is a necessary factor but their seating outlook is also very important. So this did spoil the ambience of our evening. It was an anniversary meal too so this was a let down.
Great place as a base for going to loads of lovely places! Had a voucher so was great value for what I paid. Staff were lovely
Sunday lunch was amazing. Turkey was soo tasty. Lovely place to eat out.
Great tasty food, lovely staff, looking cow to our next visit.
This pub/restaurant is in a lovely setting. I have not been for a long time and could see it had been updated to a more modern scheme without loosing the character. The staff were very friendly and well trained. The food was well presented and appetising. I would most certainly reccommend this pub and look forward to visiting it again.
We dine here for Sunday Roast at least once a month. The service is excellent with COVID measures all in place. We are always very pleased with the food and our overall experience.
Good atmosphere, disappointed in serving size, only one slice of meat and the stuffing provided was as small as £2 coin on the roast dinner. The soup starter wasn’t hot as it didn’t even melt the butter provided for the bread, feel it is a bit over priced for what you receive, took about 30 minutes to get the bill as well
Excellent foot, good beer, very friendly and helpful staff
Excellent, this is our favourite restaurant, food and staff are brilliant.
Food is outstanding and the staff are brilliant
Would highly recommend
Really nice good service nice food felt very covid safe an enjoyable meal out
Great stay, only comment - the lamps in the bedroom were very dim for reading.
Great location, easy access, loads of parking. Food & service exceptional
I wanted to support local businesses so thought I'd treat my daughter to brekkie. It was fab
A very nice change at this miserable time, cheered us up
Excellent service, all covit regulations observed. Food superb. Staff very cheerful and helpfull.
Good food, good service, and also good setup for social distancing, felt verycomfort.
Felt comfortable in spite of very good Coronavirus precautions.
Found the whole experience very inviting plus value for money excellent.
Service was a little slow probably due to amount of Staff.
Every time my wife and I dine here we come away with no complaints. We get all that is expected of a fine dining establishment. We had a breakfast here for the first time using the October fiverfest voucher. 10 out of 10.
Lovely pub, nice atmosphere. Open fire. Breakfast was very good value for money.
Lovely meal in pleasant surroundings all rules adhered to
Cauliflower cheese was standing in water presumably because it was steamed after cooking - not good!
Roast potatoes were over large and still hard - therefore not been cooked so that they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside!
We had the Sunday lunch menu. I really enjoyed my vegetarian dish (with plenty of gravy); Yorkshire pud and plenty of veg. Then lovely dessert - quite a job to get back on our bikes afterwards!
