Booked to come here after seeing an article of the best restaurants in Lancashire but when we arrived the door was locked and the lights were all off. It was my birthday and we were bring out our 5 week old baby in the rain. I had booked on OpenTable; both Google maps; Facebook and their website said they should be open but they didn't appear to be. We had a table of 8 as it was tough trying to find an alternative location to eat at last minute. Not impressed at all.

It really does pain me to write this review, we have been to this establishment multiple times and really enjoyed the food. On this occasion it was really substandard. The meals arrived, mine was cold, the mixed grill was missing the steak, my mother’s was burnt and they forgot my daughters. The waitress I think was new and had to keep coming back to ask questions about the food, it was a problem as such as everyone starts somewhere and is learning. We had to go to the bar to get more drinks and wasn’t told about the promotions they had on. I recommended this place to my family as we have never had an experience like this. They have recently changed the menu and although there are some really great options, we struggled with what to order, this is more a personal preference rather than a problem with the restaurant. It’s an absolute shame. I can recommend the gin and tonic.

This used to be a go-to place for us, but we were very disappointed on this afternoon visit. The portions were small for the price and the food quality was not up to standard. Some of the cutlery on the table was not clean. We felt it was an expensive lunch for what we got. We had pies and found that the pastry was not cooked properly and we left still slightly hungry. We won't be trying again any time soon.

Have had several good meals there but latest experience was extremely below what we had come to expect food was ok but no where near the value £20 for a tiny portion of fish and some half cooked chips is not acceptable very much we will be going back.

Delicious food amazing customer service and dog friendly! would definitely recommend especially the Chees and Onion Pie and the Steak and Ale Pie. Generous portions comfortable seating area . We went mid week so it was quiet with a friendly ambiance.

Lovely setting and a very friendly welcome. Starters were all lovely and drinks were very reasonably priced. The double smashed burgers were very fat and dense (not smashed burgers) and the fries came covered in pepper which my son doesn’t like. The pork chop was to undercooked to our liking but we now know to ask for it well done next time. Our chunky chips weren’t cooked long enough and were a bit soggy. Puddings were very indulgent and tasty.

Very relaxed atmosphere. Service was very good, Lewis/Louis, the waiter/barman was extremely attentive and friendly. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Wide choice of food, Dog menu was a first! Great idea. Gluten free options wide ranging. The manager is always very friendly and informative. .. we already have booked for a 90th birthday celebration. Recommended.

We had an evening meal on Sunday the 25/02/2024 for my wife's birthday, 5 in total me and my wife and 3 girls aged 6,11 and 13. The food was fantastic, eating in a great atmosphere with a homely feel. Id describe it as one of a minority of homely traditional pub/restaurants in our area. The price and food quality is perfect. We will definitely be back thankyou.

Overall food wasn’t very good quality, most items not available, or told they had just run out of things . How a restaurant runs out of custards I don’t know ! Caramel fondant not available at 5pm and the place was empty with no customers, very cream served on a plate ? And for the price they ask for each meal is ridiculous for the quality of food served . I won’t be recommending this place and won’t be returning unfortunately as it used to be very popular and I would recommend to others but overall very disappointing

Working in hospitality, I never write negative reviews but feel I need to stop others from such a bad experience! Went out for family birthday as 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor. How can anyone rate this place?? Menu completely different from online! Service slow even though not busy! Worst burger I’ve ever had, meat not seasoned, bacon missing, patties were more like 2x sliders on a burger bun & no onion rings available at 6:30pm on Saturday night.????? £20 fish & chips!! 4ppl £113 (2burgers ,fish &chips & curry. 2x Pepsi 1 cider 2beers) complete rip off. Nearly went back to kick off after our guests had gone, but only young girls waiting on & didn’t think it fair on them.
