About
Opened in January 2005, The Treehouse (largest in the world) is spread across 6,000 sq ft of complex buildings, linked by suspended walkways all accessible.
The Treehouse Restaurant can be found at the heart of the structure, beautiful and unique, with a log fire in the centre, trees growing from the floor, handcrafted wooden tables and chairs and screens created from fallen branches. Menus are created using the best of British produce and locally-sourced ingredients, to create an a la carte modern bistro style menu.
On most Wednesday evenings the restaurant hosts live music. Please contact us for more information.

Great place to eat! We had a lovely meal and service was really friendly.
An amazing faultless restaurant. A special Place for a special treat highly recommended.
Great venue, great food, great service! Very nice would happily go again 😊
fantastic place to eat very unusual setting with great views
The setting was amazing! Should a great environment to enjoy a meal. We had the market menu which suited us for a lunch time! 100% recommend to everyone!
Had dined here 5 years ago and had an excellent meal. Very disappointed this time service slow and steaks were distributed wrongly at the table. Wine list expensive for what it is as a local won't be recommending this one in the future. Sadly the offering does not compliment the very creative and attractive structure.
Amazing food great service.
The restaurant is beautiful
Place was lovely, food was decent actually and pleasant atmosphere
The restaurant was everything I had hoped it would be, excellent food, magical surroundings.
Special place for family birthday celebrations! Enjoyed by all of us!
Amazing place, beautifully designed. The food and cocktails were delicious. Enjoyed the service and friendly welcome. It was great to return again.
The Treehouse has a magical atmosphere at night. Perfect for a romantic evening or dining with family or friends. Food was delicious with some innovative choices.
Only criticism was the service was slow. We waited 10 mins before we were offered a drink and at least 40 mins for the main course. Also some rugs / cushions would make the seating more comfortable. Looking forward to visiting in the summer to enjoy the extensive outside decking.
An unique dining experience set in a lovely environment, ambience and food was amazing, myself and my girlfriend had a lovely evening and one we definitely won't forget. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
Kind Regards
I was so excited to be going to the Treehouse but it was dreadful. We were staying in Alnwick for the weekend for both our birthdays and I booked it quite a while ago. There were limited starters as they had ran out and also didn't have the main meal my fiancé wanted, and the waitress's response was 'you should have come at lunch time as they had it then.' Baring in mind, we were in at 7pm on a Saturday, hardly late. I ordered lamb for my main which was raw and bloody around the bone and had to be sent back. Also the chips are clearly frozen chips where we had been given the bottom of the bag; both our plates had small overcooked hard chips. My fiancé ordered rump steak. It was flat as if it had been bashed to make it look wider. It came with no sauce and wasn't cooked how he had requested, he also had the end of the bag frozen chips - his meal was £22! Mine took so long to come back that in the end I cancelled it as my fiancé had finished his meal and I would have been sat eating on my own. We got the bill at that point and left, we were in there for less than 40 minutes. Yes it is in a great setting but the food is awful, possibly the worse meal we have ever had. The food they serve shouldn't be served anywhere. If you want to go and look at this place, have a coffee and leave. Do not eat here as the chefs clearly cant cook and waitresses don't seem bothered about serving it. I could have done better myself.
It was a great birthday treat. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was great
Food very average for price. Very cold inside restaurant. When we complained about an aspect of the food we were offered no compensation.
Unfortunately the restaurant was empty other than 2 other diners, so not the atmosphere we wanted for a 21st Birthday celebration. The tables in the main dining area were best placed , however, our allocated table was in the top left part of the restaurant away from the fairy lights and open fire. We were cold at our table. We were not greeted warmly on arrival. Overall disappointing from lack of input from the restaurant but we still enjoyed ourselves as was a special day. Wouldnt recommend .
Interesting building and tempted by the lunchtime menu
However we were placed in a very dark spot right next to another occupied table, so asked to move to sunny window seat
The first course ( whitebait) was delicious but the fish and chips were below par. The chips weren’t properly cooked through and we pointed this out.
Ok overall but we had expected more so were disappointed and I wouldn’t return
Our experience was not good from the start. We waited over 20 minutes for a drink and we had to ask them!! There is not a great choice on the menu as we had a couple of picky eaters in our party. We had to ask for water for the table. No bread was brought to the table. The main course was very average not exceptional like you expected it to be for such a wonderful setting. I ordered a coffee- I had to ask for sugar which eventually came - no spoon in the sugar bowl or on the saucer - I had to stir my coffee with a knife! Three of our party had sweets - the waiter dished the sweets out and we waited for spoons but nothing came - we had to catch someone's attention to bring cutlery. The service in McDonalds is better!!! We won't be back!!
Appreciated the flexibility around our booking, birthday dressing of table much appreciated food excellent my partner really enjoyed her great value cocktail, all good will be back soon D
This was a birthday treat really looking forward to it but when we arrived we were told ‘Grill’ option wasn’t available and ended up with a car very which wasn’t what I expected. The veg was really under cooked and the cauliflower cheese was watery- not pleasant at all .
The food was average as was the service. There were few diners in the restaurant so there was little atmosphere. It was very cold in the restaurant resulting in our food cooling quickly. We didn’t stay for pudding as the lack of heat was unbearable.
Gorgeous restaurant with amazing food. Staff very attentive and helpful. Couldn't recommend it enough
Venue is incredible. Took my Grandma for her 70th Birthday along with my 2 children. Waitress was lovely and attentive. food fell a little shy of what I expected sadly but overall it was a lovely visit.
Thank you
Very good. We loved it. A unique experience. We ate too much.
Everything about this restaurant is first class. From the spectacular venue to the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. I would highly recommend.
Lovely space, charming service, but truly awful motorway service station standard food. Searcy’s, who have the franchise, should be ashamed of themselves.
Amazing location , great service & lovely flavours
Wonderful experience, never been any where like it, well worth a visit.
We were booked in for Sunday lunch & although the food was very nice the shared veg bowl went cold very quickly.
The main reason I wouldn't return though were the staff. They were not rude at all, just not very tentative....once the meal arrived all the staff seemed to dusappear, so ordering another round of drinks was near impossible. It is very unusual for staff to not come to the table to check everything is alright or if they can get you anything.
It was terrific experience from start to finish! We won't hesitate to return.
Great Sunday roast
Plenty of well cooked veg to share
Friendly staff & reasonably priced
Fantastic setting, wonderful staff who took the tile to talk to each customer and make them feel special. Brilliant food cooked fresh.
Beautiful to look at inside and out.
Food is lovely with nice atmosphere
Very average. Service was slow and the food was very average. Then mains were really nothing special and the puddings were fine. Given the general standard in Northumberland, there are far nice places to go.
Amazing food in a beautiful setting! Will definitely be back.
An average experience although an interesting place to take the kids for lunch. Service was ok but they forgot about part of my order. Overpriced for what you get as this is not a posh place. It feels very dusty.
Lovely novelty place to eat. Gorgeous surroundings.
Service a little slow but overall a nice meal in unusual surroundings.
Just had main meals. My mussels dish was nice, albeit with frozen skinny fries, but my wife’s lamb dish was terrible. The meat was RAW in the middle...like jelly. No one asked us how our meal was, we had to draw attention to it. Meat taken away for less than 2 mins so was probably microwaved. Pearl barley like marbles and none of the juice that was supposed to be there.
Very disappointing.
